Great to hear! Make sure you join in with our weekly photo challenge, we are now into week 7 but you can go back and try any of the previous challenges if you wish.
What model did you buy? I started with a Canon T3i (600D) in 2012. I loved that camera so much. I sometimes forget the excitement of your first DSLR and playing around with all the features. Such as the creative filters and experimenting. Like ok I have an iso of 6400. You couldn't even buy film that went that high. So how dark can it get and still get a decent image and etc. This channel helps me remember that. I gave my daughter my T3i and I know shoit with a 5D mark III and a Canon 90D. I actually love the 90D because it's a nice hybrid between my pro 5D mark III and my T3i. Enjoy your new camera and never stop enjoying using it.
Great Tutorial of how to use my Canon T7. Its been sitting in its case for 6 months because I was to intimidated to pull it out and use it. But now a whole new world has opened up thanks to you. Much Thanks!
Paul, you are an excellent teacher. You videos are very well structured, clear and easy to follow. While it's a good idea to read the manuals that come with a camera, an excellent video such as yours beats reading those dry and often baffling manuals!
I recently got into photography, i've had a canon camera since 2014 i never used which is the canon rebel t5, i watched all of your videos and i just wanted to say thank you so much for the great tips!
I got this camera for the kids that I mentor for FIRST Robotics. These are great tips! We tried out the camera at a "week zero" event, and the kids all loved it. I did as well, and just ordered one for myself today! :) Looking forward to joining the Cannon DSLR Crew
hello paul..i love photography but honestly i wasnt that good, and i was recently given the canon T7..wow what a camera, i was able to look at things in a totally different way..But i have to thank you for all your tips and tricks, and i can honestly say within a few days ive managed to do some really great shots. So thank you again from this newbie..
This was fabulous, What a huge help. I have so much more to learn, but this was great. Do you have any videos with regards to vocabulary or "photo lingo". As a beginner, I've been flipping to google everytime I hear a new term? Just curious. I love your videos better than any others because you explain things so easily to understand. Thank you
Yet another enlightening video Paul ! Thank you for showing us examples of exactly what you're teaching - Very Useful Info every single time !! Cheers !
Great tips - never used creative filters before, so will look to play with into the future. Really enjoyable and worthwhile channel. Wished I had found it a few years ago.
I've been thinking about getting my first Canon mirrorless camera. Your videos are incredibly helpful in knowing what I'll be getting so that I can make an informed purchase. Thank you for the great videos!! Greetings from India!! :) PS. I really love the way you smile. Brings a smile on my face too!! :D
Your video's are by far the best i have found on YT! Thank you so much! I have a Canon EOS 1300D with a Sigma 150-500lens. Can't wait to try all of your tips!👍
I have watched your videos and they are amazing very useful for me I'm a newbie . I have a question regarding lenses I have one 75-300 and 18-55 with my Canon eos 2000d which are great but when I have my long one on I can't take photos closer is there a lens that does 18-300 ?? Thank you x
Great advice and tips thank you! My daughter bought me this last week for my big 50 as I’m always taking photos on my phone .. I love taking photos! Would you recommend joining a local photography group? I’m going out now to take lighthouse shots 🤞🏻
Joining a group is a great idea as it will encourage you to shoot a variety of subjects and get help from like minded photography enthusiasts. Thanks for watching Heidi.
Hey Paul, thanks for all the great Canon photo tips, I've really been enjoying your video's and your channel. Looking forward to your next video! Regards.
Hi Paul thank you for another well put together easy to listen to and understand video . I have been asked to take photos of a family member getting married please can you do a 5 tips video for shooting people .Once again keep this brilliant videos coming .Rich in Uk
Hi Rich, I will be putting together a portrait video in the future, but until then my No 1 tip for portrait shooting is to make sure you focus on the eye(s) of your subject. Thanks for watching, hope you are enjoying the UK summer!!
I have a question Paul - I feel that the colours in my photos dont look so vibrant and alive , pls advise which area I should be trying to improve or what I could be doing wrong , I use the Canon T7 and shooting with the kit lens or 50mm prime , grateful for your answer
Just found your videos. Best I have found to date, because you explain things assuming the listener doesn’t know anything, which I don’t! Too many TH-cam photographers assume a level of knowledge. Can I respectfully suggest when explaining features, you show photos that explain what you are talking about. Just a thought. Have subbed, thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave feedback - it is very much appreciated. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos and will certainly take on board your suggestion of including more images. Paul 😀
Dont forget to spin the wheel on top right to skip 10 photos at a time as well. If you remember about what other photos you took around that time. Once you think you're close. Then hit the button to pan out yo showing a grid of multiple photos at once.
As usual, another great photo lesson. Have had my SL1 for a few years and you're showing me tips I never knew. Quite a few "duh" moments. BTW, love the WHO mug!!!
No, if you hit the lock (asterisk) button it locks the exposure again - to unlock you can press any button on the rear of the camera (try the q button), or wait for camera to sleep or take an image. Thanks for watching.
@@photogenius Hey Poul, on my M5 and M100 exposure lock locks it, if you hit it again, it unlocks it... It may be different setup between MILC and DSLRs...
To be pedantic ISO does not control light. It does nothing to light. What it controls is the amount of electrical gain applied to the signal received (at the cost of noise, detail, dynamic range and colour depth). It should usually be the last option for obtaining (the appearance of) correct exposure.
I love your videos !!! They make photography more fun! I had a question on a Rebel T6 am I able to take photos through live view? If so how do I change it? Thank you!!! 😊
Paul - have a question which I don't think you can answer. I have a Canon 60D and have reviewed this video many times. I don't see any of the shortcuts being achieved on the 60D. Any ideas or am I stuck.
