I test rode the Lowrider S twice and was convinced it was going to be my next bike.......until Indian announced the new Chief last Feb. My Chief Darkhorse was $1000 cheaper than the LRS AND I qualified for a $500 Indian Loyalty discount! Both bikes are 😎 as a MF, but I really like the energy behind the Indian brand, I like their business model WAY better and the Chief is just a more modern bike with better tech.
I test rode a Lowrider ST and I really loved the new 117 motor. If I were to buy a Harley it would be the Lowrider S. When the dealer put together a trade offer for my '21 Roadmaster Limited is where it fell apart for Harley. After my trade, with no upgrades, the Lowrider was going to cost me $2500 out the door. They valued my trade at just over $25,000, so after tax/license the Lowrider was going to be $27,500? WTF Harley? I went back to Indian and got the Chief Dark Horse with $1,800 cash back to me plus $500 for being a Veteran and another $500 in brand loyalty. All of which I put into upgrades for the bike. Oh....and I didn't have to pay for LED lights all-around. Go Indian!
Was tryna buy a low rider s. Ended up with a chief bobber. You know I just decided I’d rock this bike and enjoy it for a few years. But the end goal for most riders is a road glide and I think that’s what I’ll get when I’m done with my chief bobber. But I intend on maxing this bike out first. I love both brands and would own both if I could afford it.
Chief dark horse is definitely a nice bike. I had one on order and ended up cancelling it because it was taking way too long and they had no idea when it would show up. I kinda changed my mind half way through, so I got the low rider s. I’m glad how it turned out, I love my low rider. But Indian is for sure making nice bikes.
@@married2dastreets I waited like 8 weeks. At that time I still had no estimated arrival. In the end the low rider s ended up being a better choice. I still like Indian though
Lol. I laugh when people state these are "around town" bikes not really for touring. I toured on 650 BSAs in the day. Then got into 750 Guzzis. Granted Ill choose my Victory Tour for distance riding but 300 mile days on the Guzzi Griso is no prob.
Honest question…why would you want ride modes? Seems it’d be more dangerous to adjust to a different throttle response every time you change the ride mode as opposed to just learning the characteristics of your bike. I suppose I’m biased as a Harley rider, but I never really understood the point of them. UNLESS it’s a matter of fuel economy…but you’re already on a motorcycle so how relevant is that?
Love ur right ✅down to the truth. Im shopping & always liked Indian since I was a kid but always thought had to have a harley but just cause of the fit in culture! But ur review is truly without name brands telling ur experience. ✊✌
Hey brother hegshot87, How are you? Similarly, between a Street Bob 114 and a Scout 20 would you choose the Street Bob? (The street Bob Is about $3,500 more.) considering maintenance and everything? 🙏🏻
Idk that one's a little tougher for me. The scout 20 is amazing and that 3 grand could do a lot to make it even better. Astetically, I like the Harley better but not by much. Idk bro lol
I want a Lowrider S with something like the Ride Command. The 2022 LRS is an awesome bike but I was disappointed they didn't give you any tech, not even crusie control. The ST version has it but costs way more and I've never seen a bike with a full fairing that didn't look like some Boomer's mid-life/end-of-life in crisis mobility scooter.
Currently i have 3 Harley's. 2021 Street Glide, 2014 Wide Glide & 2009 Rocker C. I was entertaining the idea of the Indian Super Chief with the 116" as that small bike with the big engine would be fun. Now that Harley released the new 2022 Low Rider S with the new 117", Indian is once again dead to me Would be a fun comparison but im now looking at the Low Rider S - I dont need it, i just want it.
Man style alone goes to the Harley Davidson all the way! Of course I just bought a FXLRS so maybe I’m biased? But I just couldn’t imagine buying a Chief over a Low Rider S. It’s such a classic looking bike and the ride and handling are so nice.
The price does not match the quality of the bike. You can get bikes 2-4k less with better gauges and electronics. That Chief gauge looks right out of 2000.

The red on the regular chief is awesome if they offered that on a dark horse with a 116 i would buy one
I totally agree
You should look at the chieftain in red
Indian chassis is a better design. That light feeling off the kickstand is the steering head geometry on the Indian. My Roadmaster is the same way .
Good to know. The Cheiftain felt the same way as did the Challenger

Yeah Low Rider S is nice. Definitely a bike I'd buy too
How long did you wait? I’m in the same boat right now I’m about to just get the Lowrider s

I would just save more and get 2022 low rider s you are going to want that anyway within 6 Months of street bob.
Indian wins for me. But both nice bikes

If they ride the same im inclined to the Indian more vintage look

Before watching the Indian Chief Bobber reminds me so much of the Victory Gunner now, I can’t unsee it! Starting to see so much Victory in Indians
Great video

give me examples what are the better quality bikes?
@@dapras Yamaha Bolt, Kawasaki Vulcan, Indian Chief, Triumph Rocket. To name a few.
The harley upped it's game with the new 117 and the st. What has Indian done? But both bikes need more lights up front so stupid cager see you.
