Thanks so much for the kind words! I've never fully appreciated the content or creators on TH-cam until I started to contribute to it myself. It's a pile of work to get motivated enough to tackle a project, remember to have a camera charged enough to take some decent footage of that project, then edit and upload. It's a lot, but I'm enjoying myself. Thanks for watching!👍
Thank you! Good idea. Ill consider that as we move along here. I have something in form of new videos coming soon on a build possibly. Should be fun. Looking for donor vehicle right now - (this truck getting chopped up )

Im 6'-4 and have huge hands lol. Cap on the deck was a must for me. Theres a little tiny glory hole on the side where the filler is supposed to go but i cant fit my hand in to unscrew cap. "Creates problems for everything?". Not really at all. Its never in the way once. To each his own though right? Somw like to follow the rules. I do whatever i want because i can. 😉
@bryanstaten5585 in hind sight yes, i should have held onto it. But it ended up going to a friend so its not gone forever lol. Its was convenient for household garbage amd small stuff.
Which wiring specifically are you referring to? Theres truck side tail lights (easy to trace and figure out with test light). The deck side lights wiring (i found ground and went through each wire with power and labeled so i could match with truck side lights). The trailer controller plug i had to find a schematic online which turned out to be wrong from manufacturer so i went through the deck wiring with ground and power and made sure it all worked in the plugs of my 3 trailers. My trailers were all factory wired the same....the flat deck i had to change a couple wires for it to all work correctly
They were on the truck when i bought it and never asked. The centercaps do say procomp though so possibly? The flat deck has a built in B&W goosenek ball as well as the the 30k bumper pull hitch. Paid 5k for the deck. More than i paid for the truck lol
@@cooperdanieltherancher best place i found tow mirrors was amazon. Just over 100 bucks per. With power and heat. They are ok but they do bounce a little more than factory. If you can live with that they will be fine
I got another ? When you put your brakes on with directionals on how many lights are lite up. Because I installed mine and brake lights work but directionals don’t. They are led. So if brakes are at full brighten how does the signal flash umm
@@lakelifecraftsman no what I’m asking is when you hand your brake pedal down and then turn on directionals how does a led signal work if the brake light is the same light as the directional. I can’t get mine to work. The brake light works then when I put directional on it doesn’t work but the symbol on dash stays on. A led is one light so how does a light that is the brights it can get from holding the brake change into a signal light when your foot is on the break.
One light of the 2 remains as running lights AND signal. The running lights are lit, then when signal comes on the dame light gets even brighter. Same happens for the brakes. The lights just get brighter when brake applied. Pretty sure i wakked through the lights lit up with signals and running lights all working. All the answers to the questions you asked can be seen visually in the video.
@@lakelifecraftsman I watched. You do not have the brake applied at the same time the signal light is on. Because the brake light is the brightest so how does the same light perform 2 jobs at the same time when it’s a led light. One light. Not bulbs. Umm
This one would work for a dually if t was a cab and chassis model (shorter rear axle) such as pipeline welding rigs or tow trucks. But a full dually would need a pretty wide deck for sure! The deck is awesome!
@@71lemans i dont remember exactly how much i paid for it now. But it was in the neighborhood of about 4k ? Canadian. Maybe a bit more with the taxes. Lets ut it this way, at the moment, the deck is probably worth more than the truck is right now lol
@@71lemans ha!! I hear ya! Thats the exact same thing i felt too when shopping for a bed. My truck has over 500k on it. If it ever craps out, ill pull the bed for my next truck.
Ive heard that before and believe you're correct. Now that its so far in the past i forget what circuit i even put the 3rd resistor on. But everything has and is, working flawlessly thus far. Thanks for watching!👍
Well done, your videos are evolving nicely. Looking forward to your next project.

Thanks for posting this video man , it gives more insight to putting a flat bed on these older trucks.
No problem. I'm glad it helped! 👍
Great video. I would suggest putting an LED in your third brake light to make it more noticeable.

Second gens look so awesome with a flatbed
I agree. They look like it was meant to be. 👍

Pretty sweet end result! The flat bed on my mind for my 03 3500
Thanks man! Flat deck working out awesome. Highly recommended 👍
Fuel cap on the bed? Kind of creates problems for everything. Never have seen that before. 1st for everything.

@@lakelifecraftsman Yup it's just what I needed. I'm also waiting for snow to start but rare for Vancouver Island 😂 keep them coming.
On the island? Nice! One of my best buds is up that way around Lake Cowichan for the winters and here for summers. Nice area for sure!
I think i would have held on to the dump bed and mounted it on a suitable trailer frame.

Truck looks awsome bud
Thanks! She has some wear items (rusty fenders), but its coming around. Really liking the flat deck!
Nice love that flatbed look
Thanks! I do too. Reminds of days past when i was around a lot of pipeline work. Flat decks were the only way to go.
Or led compatible relay
