Such an epic ending to such an epic game, looking back it is hard to imagine how a video game, something thats not even real, could touch my soul and change who I am, and become a part of me forever...may sound silly to some, but if you grew up with this game like I did, than I think your memories might tell the same story...
The music and Navi's words "He's not going to hold me back anymore. This time, we fight together!" I so pictured Link gritting his teeth, taking out the Biggoran Sword and just thinking "No...I'm not...!" Pictures of all the people he's fought for, all the people that have been lost as he draws the sword that the people of Hyrule have forged. "I'm NOT going to let everyone go down like this!" Gripping the people's blade in both hands, and his eyes flashing with his steely resolve and courage, he rushes forth to bring an end to the King of Evil.
You have to admit, Link's combat would be useless without it though. Yes, Nintendo did make it that way, but there were a few times her hints got me unstuck. That's me anyway.
+Erica Upchurch Well now adays with Gamefaq and easy connection to the internett but imagen playing Ocarina of time for the first time, never heard anything about it, never played a 3d Zelda or a 3d game before, confused with the new controlls in the 3d world then Navi is helpfull.
I still remember the first time. Kow on magic, low on health, lower on morale. It just felt... desperate. It felt as if everything depended on me, an I was failing. As if my most loved ones would die if I wasn't victorious. I don't know how to exactly explain it, but it's a feeling I haven't got from any other game.
This had to be the most epic final boss fight in any Zelda game. Or any game in that matter. I had chills going down my spine the whole entire time I was fighting Ganon.
I was 7 when I first fought this boss (nintendo 64 version). I was so scared because on the nintendo 64 its very dark and you can barely see ganon, so I just saw two bright yellow eyes. A few years later on the wii I saw a huge difference in lighting.
Yeah. I liked the N64 version more because of that. It's just so cool, the dark sky, him being almost like a shadow with the glowing eyes. Like a demon. I loved that.
That's exactly what I think! They ruined it with the 3DS version by giving it much more lighting, but the atmosphere of the fight was much better with the dim lighting cause you only saw what he truly was with the light arrows and lightning, so imagination was usually what filled in the blanks! That drove it home!
with the fact that you're fighting ganon while he's using the triforce of power added with the music here and the environment you really get a feeling that you're running out of time and that you don't have much hope to win seeing what you're up against, it was an emotionally draining fight for me particularly since i was a kid
Oh my gosh, when I completed this game for the first time, I cried while beating this boss and hearing this music along with the epicness of Zelda's screams and losing your Master Sword. It really is an amazing final battle. Probably my favorite, no joke. This music is just so epic to go along with the story of all Ganon's done.
This fight is not too hard, but is still amazing. Honestly I didn't want to roll under him. I love he way he swings his swords, the way he reels back in pain when you hurt him. The shot of him coming out of the ground to then face you in his beast form will go down in history as one of the best cutscenes in gaming. Also, why does he wear a bra?
This music resonates with me as it contains a sense of the ultimate finality of the last trial for our hero. On both sides there is nothing left but the drive to do battle, to end it once and for all. Neither is holding back anything and the music instills a feeling of this battle that will decide the fate of many.
The moment when Ganondorf breaks out of the ruins, breathing heavy, you just know that you're in trouble. Then, you REALLY know you're in trouble when he transforms. One of the greatest video game scenes ever, in my opinion.
The music plays so well with this battle. Its very serious and sad for the fact that if you beat him we get peace. If you don't defeat him, its all over. One if the reasons why I consider this one of the best games of all time.
My advice to anyone who finds this battle too easy: do as I do and give yourself some handicaps. Like, fight him on three hearts without extra strength (or whatever gives you the white outline around the hearts). Carry only the fairies found in Ganon's Castle, and don't roll between his legs. Instead, run around him. And most importantly, don't use anything to stun him or wound him besides your sword. Do that, and the battle becomes way more intense and the music, way more epic.
"HEY! There's no way he's going to hold me back again! This time, we fight together!" That had to be one of the most epic lines in this game! Love this music and this boss! I love to mess around during the fight to make it more epic! X3
truely one of my favorite games of all time and one hell of a boss theme. just made it epic by hearing this song, and on top of that it made me come back to play it again and again for a nasty lil boss fight with tunes :3
Best final boss in the entire Legend of Zelda Franchise... as you get hit taking a fatal blow from the monsterous creature hearing zelda cry in the backround because she is so worried about you, as you fight with your life to destroy the very final evil monsterocity... SO EPIC!!!
I remember, this was the first game I really completed all the way by myself, so when I got to the point, to this level. This wasn't just a boss fight, this was my final test of being the Hero of Time. There was no failure, only victory. To face one's fear, while within view of terror.
Everything about this game was great. It was my first Zelda, amd this continues to be my favorite boss theme from the entire francbise. This is how it' done.
OH MY GOD THIS IS EPIC! It gives me a rush in my blood and the drive to go out and fight any obstacle that stands in the way. They just don't make games like this anymore! I will always be a Legend of Zelda fan!
i love this game to the bone i would kill for this game and not only for my favorite temples (all of them!!) but also for the this theme!!! my god,memories...this theme literally makes me have a tear in my eye because i never wanted it to end! i would press pause during the battle just to hear this play while i sleep an wake up at 6:00 in the morning to finish it
i was 8 when this game came out, and i watched my brother play the game all the way through. (i remember that's when i started liking guys with blue eyes and blonde hair lol.) when he got to this boss i passed out because i thought the game was over after the first time you beat ganondorf. i came close to passing out from lack of oxygen and when i finally got to play i died so many times. but now that i'm 18, ganon doesn't even phase me. still love the music though!!! lol
perfect description. months worth of gameplay built up to this final defining momnet so early in the morning your adrenaline is rushing, you're out of magic. last resort, Deku nuts barley beating Ganon and a huge sigh of relief. I will never get an emotional high in any game like I did OoT when I was 10. I can beat it with my eye closed now but that first time back before the internet was so full of information and back when games didn't hold your hand. those where good days.
Honesty, I have to say that this fight is the best final boss of all time. They set up everything so well... A dark shadowy figure walking towards, a flash of lightning, and there stands Ganon. Navi, who was unable to help you before, isn't going to let Ganon stop her. And with the Master Sword gone, you just know, shit's about to go down. This fight is perfection.
This is the most "final" sounding music I have EVER heard. More final than the last minutes of the last day in Majora's Mask. Not just the music, but the moon being just a few feet away from destroying Termina, and likely the entire world. More final than the battle with Lavos (Shell, Body, and Core) and knowing that failure will create a desolate world, the only survivors starving to death. More final than any other apocalyptic event, both theoretical and actual.
I felt the best atmosphere for this battle was being so dark, that you could only see Ganon's silhouette towering over you, with those two glowing eyes, and huge swords. Hearing the sounds of his feet, pounding on the ground like earthquakes. His features only truly visible when the lighting strikes against the darkened storm clouds overhead. A ring of fire surrounding you, with no where to run. So while I love how the 3DS remake looks, I have to say the N64 version of this battle is better
I remember my friend playing this and getting to this battle. Me and another friend were watching. This battle starts and my friend is just standing in one spot and gets hit. My friend that was watching asks, "What are you doing? Move! Attack!" and I said, "LISTEN TO THE FUCKING MUSIC!!!" This is the type of music that says, "Even though the rest of the game was already worth it, all that other shit you just went through, was for THIS". Epic...
Agreed, once you figure that out the boss fight is pathetically easy. It's made even worse by the fact that you can actually block his strikes with your shield. As a kid this never even occurred to me as something to attempt since you can't even block an Iron Knuckle's axe, but you can block Ganon's attacks, when he wields two swords that are literally the size of your character model or bigger?
I was 13 when I had finally beat ganon's first form. Its weird cause comparing how maddeningly nervous I was facing his first form and then faced with that, I felt like I HAD to win this no matter what. And I did.
Navy is in this fight a big help u just have to imagine: you are playing this game for the first time...defeated Ganondorf...escaped from the tower and u guessed //finally he is down...YEAH// than that voice...u are going to him...the battlefield will closed by a fire ring. Ganondorf is transforming to Ganon...//Holy shit...what is this??!// Navy is helping you because the Z-targeting and I am sure all of you used this targeting for the first time on Ganon. I am sure that 90% did not find out that u can roll between his lags. I say...Ganon was a hard end boss for the first time u had no clue how to defeat him...especially if u had no mana (magical energy) to use light arrows. And this song is really epic...sounds really like the last battle: all OR nothing Sadly that Link was defeated in official time line in my most favorite game ever.
Man, thanks. U made me realize that this fight would be epic if i were a kid. I played this game for the first time when i was 12, and i got tears in my eyes when the battle starter, i couldn't even move the analog stick.
this music always makes me feel like "hurry up!! even as we speak and u fight theres people dyin from the dangeous monsters of ganondorf!!!" but then i dont want to rush because i wanna here the pain scream from ganon and the bolts of lightning and thunder adn then the EPIC MUSIC...anyway always love this game as number one and always will be in my head even when i sleep i hear it! the best theme ever!!!
And then you realize your bottles are empty, you're down to your last heart and no magic left, no pillars left for Ganon to smash down, no hope no help no second chance...and it's the most fearful, epic moment of your life, knowing you've fought with all your might, and that last sword swipe comes down... not knowing of you're going to roll away in time, until you do and there it is, your target, and you take what you know to be your final shot before he turned around and murdered you...
I think for TP Nintendo wanted to show that Ganon was essential a perversion of his control of the Triforce of Power and he was using the rest of his power and the ToP to a gamble to overwhelm Link.. if you noticed at the end of OOT when he was being sealed in the Sacred Realm he had retaken human form and wasn't in his "pig" Ganon form. I think it was overall just another ability he gained like Link turning into a wolf
yet again this ending song has an eerie similar sound to the other ending battles not the main themes but how its put together i suppose they have a certain criteria when coming up with soundtracks for these battles i love how it sounds like the mini boss battle in the sand temple in twilight princess its really cool how they incorperate small things from older games into their newer ones applauded by me FO SHO lol
The best boss battle that I've heard in my life. Goes great with the music. The only one I can think of that's almost a good as this one, for me, is Girahim's theme. The one where you don't fight him.
*runs out of light arrows* *blows into paper bag* *breathes heavily* *cardiac arrest* (realizes that you can just roll under Ganon's legs and slash his colorful ass tail from there) *cues angels singing*
This is the moment where Hyrule mostly sits on Links shoulders. If he doesn't stop Ganon now then Hyrule is destroyed! And listening to this music I can defiantly feel the pressure Link must have.
OMG the shadow temple and the Bottom of the well. I'm glad I wasn't scarred for life by the dead hand. (Seriously, who let's a monster that grabs you with bloodstained hands and then proceed to eat you in an 'E for everyone game' XD
here's what i imagine with this music: a group of adventurers readied their weapons to face an evil demigod of blood and death, surrounding them are lightning, rain, and thunder only the question remains will they defeat this evil being and save the world?
Easiest way to defeat this boss, in my perspective anyway 1. Roll under his legs and use light arrows, if u run out use the hammer or deku nuts. 2. Jump attack his tail when u get your sword back. Jump attacks are strong and defeat anything quick depending on how u use it.
I don't care what anybody says. Boss fight might have been easy. But, in my opinion, one of the best boss themes in a videogame, ever.
True. I just kept evading his hits and running around just to listen to the song and both link and ganon's sounds.
+MrHibugji when you sword is away use the goron sword or hookshot or longshot
I mean, I held back killing him, because I wanted to listen to the music. Didn't know that they had 30 min of ost extended when I was kid e.e
Such an epic ending to such an epic game, looking back it is hard to imagine how a video game, something thats not even real, could touch my soul and change who I am, and become a part of me forever...may sound silly to some, but if you grew up with this game like I did, than I think your memories might tell the same story...
man that drummer must be tierd.
It's a shame the 3ds version butchered the atmosphere a bit with brighter lighting. Ganon looked a lot more menacing as a silhouette.
the 3ds versions both kind of took the dark sides of zelda away
+Aaron Fuentes ikr

I would pay for a remake like that!
MrHibugji $300
You have to admit, Link's combat would be useless without it though. Yes, Nintendo did make it that way, but there were a few times her hints got me unstuck. That's me anyway.
not really it would be just as easy without navi
+Erica Upchurch Well now adays with Gamefaq and easy connection to the internett but imagen playing Ocarina of time for the first time, never heard anything about it, never played a 3d Zelda or a 3d game before, confused with the new controlls in the 3d world then Navi is helpfull.

OMFG
NINE TRILLION STARS OUT OF ONE
THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO YOU HAVE EVER DONE!!!!!! God this takes me back!
The dark chorus in the background just seals it with me. Not a single hair is lying flat on my head, arms, legs and....other areas.
Oh my gosh, when I completed this game for the first time, I cried while beating this boss and hearing this music along with the epicness of Zelda's screams and losing your Master Sword. It really is an amazing final battle. Probably my favorite, no joke. This music is just so epic to go along with the story of all Ganon's done.
most epic boss theme ever, gives off the feeling of having barely any hope against immeasurable odds, but just enough to overcome them
I don't know why but I like the little mouse cursor at the beginning title screen.
this has to be one of the most epic games ever the music the weapons u get the story pure master peice
i love how this is serious yet sad at the same time, it shows that if you lose everything will rumble, even you
yes, you are. it's 100% perfect in every single way for the scene. the ganon final battle is literally the most thematic boss fight of all time.
Cuz Gerudo?
That's not a bra... that's his cape. Look at the art of him.
This music resonates with me as it contains a sense of the ultimate finality of the last trial for our hero. On both sides there is nothing left but the drive to do battle, to end it once and for all. Neither is holding back anything and the music instills a feeling of this battle that will decide the fate of many.
ikr? It made the moment even more memorable. a battle against all odds.
The moment when Ganondorf breaks out of the ruins, breathing heavy, you just know that you're in trouble. Then, you REALLY know you're in trouble when he transforms. One of the greatest video game scenes ever, in my opinion.
Me too, it's the feeling of a culmination of destiny in an epic battle to determine whether evil reigns or good triumphs. Damn I love Zelda.
The music plays so well with this battle. Its very serious and sad for the fact that if you beat him we get peace. If you don't defeat him, its all over. One if the reasons why I consider this one of the best games of all time.
Even today this boss battle gives me goosebumps. The music, the scenario, everything is perfect.
I did it easy
Real Zero I'm going to assume "it" refers to my suggestion. Then, do it realistically.
That never crossed my mind...You, sir, are a genius!
"HEY! There's no way he's going to hold me back again! This time, we fight together!"
That had to be one of the most epic lines in this game!
Love this music and this boss! I love to mess around during the fight to make it more epic! X3
Very epic battle, always loved this little touch that Zelda cries out, if you get hit.
dark! and epic!
still and forever will be the most epic zelda game- gannondorf encounter of zelda history
*salutes*
Back in the day I'd pause during the battle just to hear the musicn and now there;s a 10 hour version. Love this music, alwats gives me the chills :')
truely one of my favorite games of all time and one hell of a boss theme. just made it epic by hearing this song, and on top of that it made me come back to play it again and again for a nasty lil boss fight with tunes :3
Best final boss in the entire Legend of Zelda Franchise... as you get hit taking a fatal blow from the monsterous creature hearing zelda cry in the backround because she is so worried about you, as you fight with your life to destroy the very final evil monsterocity... SO EPIC!!!
I always like to compare this fight to freiza in DBZ. their final forms were both very easy to overpower, because they both lost control of themselves
I remember, this was the first game I really completed all the way by myself, so when I got to the point, to this level. This wasn't just a boss fight, this was my final test of being the Hero of Time. There was no failure, only victory. To face one's fear, while within view of terror.
I thought I was the only one who felt that way about the game. :D It's like the true feeling of do or die when this battle began.
best quote navi has said: " theres no way he''s holdning me back again!!! This time we fight together!!! "
Everything about this game was great. It was my first Zelda, amd this continues to be my favorite boss theme from the entire francbise. This is how it' done.
Ah man. This is so cool. Ganon at the height of his power. Music is so epic.
Mom: "Stop banging those drums so loudly"
Me: "That's actually my heart pounding"
I love fighting this boss over and over and over and over and over again, NEVER GETS OLD for me. ( even though I died 17 times Lol)
OH MY GOD THIS IS EPIC! It gives me a rush in my blood and the drive to go out and fight any obstacle that stands in the way. They just don't make games like this anymore! I will always be a Legend of Zelda fan!
i love this game to the bone i would kill for this game and not only for my favorite temples (all of them!!) but also for the this theme!!! my god,memories...this theme literally makes me have a tear in my eye because i never wanted it to end! i would press pause during the battle just to hear this play while i sleep an wake up at 6:00 in the morning to finish it
i remember i paused the game for like 20 minutes and blast the volume on my TV, just for this.
i was 8 when this game came out, and i watched my brother play the game all the way through. (i remember that's when i started liking guys with blue eyes and blonde hair lol.) when he got to this boss i passed out because i thought the game was over after the first time you beat ganondorf. i came close to passing out from lack of oxygen and when i finally got to play i died so many times. but now that i'm 18, ganon doesn't even phase me. still love the music though!!! lol
When you hear music like this for a final boss...
...You know some bad and heavy shit is gonna go down!
the most epic final battle in all legend of zelda games
This is one of my favorite final boss themes in any video game!
most satisfying ending any video game ever i was just 9 at the time when i beat it but i will always remember it
@redquoter You are so right. It just makes it feel like the fight of your life and you're going against the toughest of foes...
THIS GUY NEVER GOES TO SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
perfect description. months worth of gameplay built up to this final defining momnet so early in the morning your adrenaline is rushing, you're out of magic. last resort, Deku nuts barley beating Ganon and a huge sigh of relief. I will never get an emotional high in any game like I did OoT when I was 10. I can beat it with my eye closed now but that first time back before the internet was so full of information and back when games didn't hold your hand. those where good days.
This game was over half of my childhood
One of the most badass final boss themes ever
More final than any other apocalyptic event, both theoretical and actual.
i love the end fight... its funny to play again... and again... an then... ohm... again...
Move! Attack!" and I said, "LISTEN TO THE FUCKING MUSIC!!!"
This is the type of music that says, "Even though the rest of the game was already worth it, all that other shit you just went through, was for THIS". Epic...
without fail. you're absolutely right.
I love the scene where Gammon is expecting Link while playing the organ. The first time I played it I was like this is it Due or Die jaja
I like it when Zelda shrieks when Ganon hits link.
^truth, fight was so great you don't want it to end
This music comes to my head when i have the runs
This sound is the definition of epic
Absolutely love the theme, and not just the musical part. The one thing that would've made this better way I'd you couldnt roll under his legs.

And I did.
Greatest battle in the history of video games.
Best final boss music ever in zelda
This is the theme i will play when i take my final exams.
Navy is in this fight a big help u just have to imagine:

all we need for this ost is zeldas cry for horror when you get hit
Prepare Yourself Link! *Pulls up hand*
FOR THE FINAL BATTLE
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRR!!!!
I'm playing this at the end of the world. Its just that epic.
LMAO 'I need 10 agreements' that would definitely convince them to do a multi-million remake..
And that, children, is the story of how I became a Legend...
The best boss battle that I've heard in my life. Goes great with the music. The only one I can think of that's almost a good as this one, for me, is Girahim's theme. The one where you don't fight him.
Oh my fucking god this is a dream come true.
i miss this guy. i haven't fought him on a while...
This song is INCREDIBLY PERFECT for this situation, This is one of million facts of why Nintendo is the BEST!!!!!!!
then we shall fight together as brothers -raises sword- (can't think of an epic quote to say so just charge) XD
I beat this game over 26 times; Majora's Mask, Link to the Past, OoT, and TP are my favorites! :0
PURE EPICNESS!!!!!!!!!!!
*runs out of light arrows*
*blows into paper bag*
*breathes heavily*
*cardiac arrest*
(realizes that you can just roll under Ganon's legs and slash his colorful ass tail from there)
*cues angels singing*
*GANON*
This will be my theme for final exams.
This is the moment where Hyrule mostly sits on Links shoulders. If he doesn't stop Ganon now then Hyrule is destroyed! And listening to this music I can defiantly feel the pressure Link must have.
No need for a subtitle for THIS guy!
Your never to old or too young to play this.I finished this at four years old and minish cap at 5 anyone else?
OMG the shadow temple and the Bottom of the well. I'm glad I wasn't scarred for life by the dead hand. (Seriously, who let's a monster that grabs you with bloodstained hands and then proceed to eat you in an 'E for everyone game' XD
here's what i imagine with this music:
a group of adventurers readied their weapons to face an evil demigod of blood and death, surrounding them are lightning, rain, and thunder only the question remains will they defeat this evil being and save the world?
Raise your hand if you beat Ganon with a Hook Shot and without using the Light Arrows despite having them, and were playing casually.
Easiest way to defeat this boss, in my perspective anyway
1. Roll under his legs and use light arrows, if u run out use the hammer or deku nuts.
2. Jump attack his tail when u get your sword back. Jump attacks are strong and defeat anything quick depending on how u use it.
Tried everything and that was the only solution for survival for me
For being the final boss you'd expect him to be hard but he's easy.
I DID IT!!! I FINALLY DID IT!!
