Ive always have had a soft spot for the looks of the late 60's early 70's grundig machines with the chrome flashy tidy finish.
Stereo with these reel machines are my thing when they look like this.
I once had the late 60's valve deluxe grundig stereo version but the large capstan drive pully wheel pot metal had totally cracked up. It had other probs as well. I had no spare parts, so had to despose of it.
I still have the 2 large transformers out of it somewhere. The output one is quite large with many taps.
I think its valves were 2 ef80's, 2 ef86's, and 2 ell80's but i could be wrong, it was nearly 10 years ago.
I obviously kept these valves as well.

If you look at the World Record Club tapes many don’t seem to have a copyright mark…. And I have never been pulled up on one. And that tape - School Country Dancing …..ugh…. Bad Memories. But is that Jimmy Shand and his Orchestra ? Also - at this time Grundig were outsourcing their manufacture to ZRK in Poland. They also put out some of these in the Unitra brand name …. ZRK’s brand.

Hi Steve, I bought a few of the World Record Club tapes before the prices on used tapes went a bit crazy on Ebay. I erased the tape I was playing, I should have kept it. I would not mind making a new recording of it, lol.

Thanks Theo, it is now. Nothing was really working well at all when I got it. I also have an earlier TK146 machine, plus another in the loft I need to restore, lol.
