When I was in Cancun on my honeymoon. My wife and I took a tour of Chichen Itza coordinated by our all inclusive resort. It was AWESOME! It was mind blowing how advanced the Mayans were. The math used in building the pyramids to be coordinated with summer and fall equinox is amazing. This was definitely my favorite part of my trip to Mexico. It was nice cause after a day walking around Chichen Itza on the bus ride back they had ice cold Coronas for sale.

I took the tour bus to xichen via Cenote x jacum and also the town of Valladolid .It was a great trip that only costs me less than 80 us dollar for the bus trip.
The comunity at the Conte X jacum was so organized and beautiful ,I spent 200 usd on Mayan calendars and other Saphire Jewelery gifts!.It worths it because they are trying to preserve our history-world history. Also they kept the Mayan traditions and blessings by bringing it to this world for the sake of knowledge.
It was a great opportunity to learn about world history also the relationship between nature and humans as well.I learned a lot in this trip!.I admire the tour bus organizations and the local Governments for showing us this Beautiful side of Human beings!.

you can go by bus too(NOT A TOUR) . it cost around 650 pesos round trip with ADO buses, only 1 bus Daily from Cancun at 8:45 am returning at 4 pm from Chichen Itza, entrance to pyramids archeological zone is paid separately. ADO BUSES ALSO GO TO CHICHEN ITZA FROM PLAYA DEL CARMEN AND TULUM. the only bad thing is that you get there around 12 noon so it Will be packed and you only have 4 hours to spend there, don't be late to your bus.

As I hitch through 20 ish countries in Africa in the early 1980’s as I watched the street vendors I am reminded of the absolutely best coffee in my life still in 2024. Of course what made it better was the people and whole experience. Basically it was just a cup of coffee however it was also all about the moment in time I allowed myself to just enjoy and give myself to the experience. The feeling of just being out of my body with a calmness that took away any feelings of difficulty every thing was well oiled and amazingly calm I allowed myself to fall back slowly trusting everyone around as if we were one. I wouldn’t recommend any other woman to hitch around African countries today however it isn’t that scary if U allow yourself to fall back and trust. U will not only experience the trust but will also experience
Something much greater with the energy of local peoples.

Driving yourself? BRING PESOS for the TOLL ROADS or you will be turning around! The tolls only take Pesos, no US money, no Cards of any type. I was lucky to find someone to trade me some peso but they made a nice profit in US off me. My wife and I are thinking of going there. We're gonna be staying at the Catalina Yucatan Beach resort (sorry if I spelled that wrong) what is the best way to get there from our resort? Is there a free bus from our resort or is there a tour we can pay to have come pick us up and then drop us off nearby there?

    • @NALBATRAVELS

The only buses that can take you there are the ADO buses leaving from Playa Del Carmen or Tulum, but my understanding is that there is only one a day! (Check the comments in this video). So to do this you will most likely need to get a tour like we did 😊 Your hotel should be able to recommend you some agencies to book with once you get there.

Everything you guys are saying is that going by your self basically you will ending paying double or even more since if you get lost will be more expensive to get back on the track, and with a guide you will get the correct information that these places offer, and btw there is not other place in world so beautiful like Chichén Itzá, and mexico it’s a super modern and super rich country I could say by experience that Mexico have even much much more than the so called first world country, the difference is that mexican people are very humble.

We booked through a local agency located in Av. Tulum, but the tour itself was organized by Maya b Travel Tours - I believe this is their Tripadvisor link www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g150807-d15581681-Reviews-Mayab_Travel_Tours-Cancun_Yucatan_Peninsula.html

We took this tour by Mayab Travel Tours last week and it was very disappointing. Read the reviews before you book, but I rather recommend to avoid this company. (It was such a bad experience that this triggered my very first TH-cam comment ever, because I'd like to save you guys!).

What about not being able to go up in chitchen itza? That can be a decision changer there. We were very disappointed about that. If we would have known this ahead of time, we would have skipped this long hot excursion.

Amazing! You will love it :) The one we went on was organized by mayabtravel.com.mx/ but we booked it once in Cancún so I don’t know if the online tickets are reliable, but I assume yes! There’s lots of tour agencies once you arrive there where you can book as well

Yes, the online booking through TripAdvisor worked fine for us. But the tour was a terrible experience. I recommend you to avoid the Mayab Travel company when going to Chichen Itza. I wish I had read the reviews on TripAdvisor prior to taking the tour...

Just went on Jun 28th 2024 and it was $135.00 per person. It included a cenote with buffet and chit nitza. So they pick you up at 7:00am and take you to a transfer station where you load onto a bigger bus. The bud has a bathroom just for peeing. They don’t allow outside food or drinks but it’s like a flea market in the inside. Everyone is trying to sell you their mother or soul . The tour guide waste an hour talking about the pyramids but doesn’t really know the history. Then you get an hour to tour.

Why do people always disrespect Mexicans by wanting to negotiate their price? Do you go to Walmart, coffee shops, restaurants and negotiate with the cashier? Do you want customers to negotiate your pay for your job and knowledge or would you like them to respect your work and value? People are working to care for their families…

    • @iuna12345
      @iuna12345 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Becuse negotiating the price in other countries is very normal and part of the culture. You don’t negotiate your bill at the restaurant or the store. Just certain independent vendors.

Or you can take the local bus..no air conditioning and took 5 hours to get there but bus stops in all the little villages along the way. You won’t see any tourists.the villages are mostly grass huts but the village men women and kids come onto the bus at each stop to sell homemade food and ice cream. the experience is one I will cherish forever.

It's really weird. The guide say things like "the Mayan are slow, they are traditional people, so be patient and dont expect anything fancy"
We ended in a shop with a xaman trying to sell "special protection" for 7800 pesos, when we declined the xaman offers a "smaller protection" for 3600 pesos.
They are definitely not traditional people anymore. Things are not hand made and they will try to squish you every single penny you have

Having once taken this tour myself, I agree. Its loooong & I actually found it rather boring and it will cost you an entire day of your Cancun vacation…If you’re not really into old ruins and spending 6+/- hours in a public vehicle, Don’t bother with this excursion. Trust me on this one, There’s alot of nothing out there…
