When she falls down in front of the Madonna and screams MADONNA SALVAMI from that moment on I cannot stop crying, had to watch the video several times to get the whole scene always interrupted with uncontrollable sobbing...it is like giving a bath to your soul...She and Callas have that power to be so true (nb. Callas only sang Suor Angelica in a student s performance in Athens so Callas is not the reference here)
Modern sopranos who say that old school singers only stand and sing could well learn from Mme Scotto how to act on stage. Fabulous performance in every way.

Late in her career,so we can be forgiving,even at that she is way way better than most i have seen in this role.acting alone wins it hands down,acting alone sometimes won it for gobi,magda olivero,chaliapin,scotto in her prime was a hard act to follow
