Ok, ignore my comment below, I'm an idiot! I know you mention on your list the new software for the TGY-i6s has a low signal alarm. I think that's it. I haven't updated my firmware but having now looked at it more closely it shipped with the latest firmware on it! I did think my start up screen looked like the updated version. When I go to "about" it says 0.01 24-Jun-2016 interestingly it does say Turnigy not Flysky on Tue startup screen still but I have 5 model memory, rate expo and throttle curve!😀 As I mentioned below it was bundled with a Kingkong 210gt from HK. Which I ordered from their CN warehouse on 7th Sept (arrived 2 weeks ago) I guess many people that have bought one recently will find its already been upgraded. Strange they didn't make the files available sooner. I'd read somewhere that the upgraded firmware had 10 model memory which is why I didn't think I had it. Thanks for the video anyway, keep up the great work.😀👍
Love your videos... except this one. 1st minute... there is an update available link in description, 2min... thanks to those that told me, 3 min... watch my other videos. As this is the patched Flysky firmware update, this would appear to point the finger at Flysky for Hobbyking not having the latest 20.4.9 firmware. Why would Hobbyking have an unauthorised firmware update otherwise. I downloaded the file from a link at RC groups when I first found out, and can assure you it installed perfectly. My radio now shows Flysky not Turnigy on start up, I am hoping this means we will be able to install any updated Flysky firmware in future. We all owe sparkie79 a big thanks.
Anthony Witham has anyone found a way to get these i6s's to run the old Flysky protocol? There's a lot of new stuff coming out with optional Flysky rx support, but unfortunately they use the old protocol and won't bind to the i6s. Some genius at RCgroups should get on that and figure out a way to make it backwards compatible. Either that or they need to start making more rx's that work with the i6s, like a decent micro rx with SBUS
After doing this update the variable knobs at the top go back to center after released. For most applications like a camera gimbal it seems like you would want them to be variable and stay where you release them. I am almost certain this was the case with the previous Turnigy Firmware. Is there setting for this I am not seeing? There isn't any discussion about this that I can find.
The spring return is a physical thing on the control. I guess you could crack the case and remove the spring if that's how you wanted to use it. Happy flying!

This is the side of RC that unfortunately I am not skilled in. I would really like to have one controller, as I have 4 choppers at the moment, and being able to have one control would be great. I've also ordered 2 drone kits so when they're built obviously they'll need a controller. Do you have a vid you could recommend to get my up to speed?
Any word on if these i6s radios will work with all the Flysky compatible stuff that Banggood is coming out with lately? All their micro quads like the QX90 have a flysky option, but I'm guessing it's using the old protocol and won't bind to the i6s. They really really need to do another update and make it backwards compatible with older Flysky rx's. Spektrum did the same thing when they went to DSMX, AND their customers killed them for it

If you're into RC then you'll end up needing it. So much of the Opensource technology the hobby relies on is Windows only/Primary platform. Happy flying!

The FrSky Taranis will last you a whole lot longer than the i6s (only 5 models and very basic settings) but that ease of use of the i6s and low price make it perfect for a new pilot to start with a half decent radio.. i canceled my order for the i6s and buy the taranis x9d plus, it looks like hard to use and look a bit old, but i like to see people mod their x9d by changing the speaker, paint it and other things.. anyway, thanks for ur suggestion. :D
Quick question, if you know? I've got a kingkong 210gt from HK with this radio, I broke off most of the wire on one of the reciever antennas in a crash.😞 It still flies fine but I know seem to have tx beeping a lot. I've changed the batteries to rule that out but can't find any reference to troubleshooting in the manual and there is no warning message / icon on the screen to indicate what's wrong or how to turn it off (without turning all the sound off). Probably answering my own question as I guess it's down to signal strength but wondered if you knew more? thanks sorry for the long message!
Great I'll be really interested to see what you think. I've been flying a toy micro quad for a while and was looking for an entry level hobby grade quad. I've put about 60 packs (and 40 props!) through it so far learning to fly acro Los to start. Getting the hang of it now, I have to say it's taken an absolute beating and can't quite believe it's still in one piece. I did put a thin piece of rubber on the top deck to stop the battery slipping and it squishing the Rx antennas but still manages to cut through them in a crash, should have re-routed them in the first place which I've done now. look forward to seeing your thoughts as I don't have anything to compare it to.
We're just starting with ours, initial impressions are good, but I wish they had used a more traditional layout for the FC and S-Bus for the connection too. What battery are you using with yours? I'm planning on a 3s pack..
I'm using the Turnigy Graphene 3s 1,300mAh I got 6 of them and 1 1,500mAh to try. I think I prefer the 1,300 as I can fit a gopro on as well if I want to and not noticed a big difference in flight times. I agree 100% with s-bus comment the wiring is a mess. As I need a new reciever anyway now I'm thinking of switching to a TGY-iA6c and using s-bus to clean it up. I know I need to change the protocol on the tx and I believe on the flight controller in cleanflight, but I just haven't worked out what lead I need to buy to connect it yet! (complete newb here). If you decide to swap it yourself would be great if you did a video on it. (long shot I realise 😀)
OriginalGingaNinja I have the original Flysky radio with updated firmware and there is now an RSSI meter in the sensors screen. If that dips below 5 (out of 10) than the transmitter beeps incessantly, you may get be having that problem due to broken antennas. A good video on it can be found by searching "Joshua Bardwell Antenna"

Painless360 although I have already returned the tx because I expected it to bind to the qx90 from Banggood but the afhds 2a didn't work with afhds on qx90 rx :( gonna get the older i6 though
Painless360 hi sorted it out was the signal wire disconnected, shame it's still only 5 model memory still after the update and you can't name the craft only number it, still I do like these controller's, thanks for helping your vids half helped me loads
Talked to live chat and confirmed the link is broken due to "site upgrade", which sucks because it looks as though others made the effort of tossing up zips to replace it and they are broken as well.
We have a video coming on that 'what's the range' question in the coming weeks. Any well setup 2.4Ghz radio and receiver will get you up to 1.5km of range (100mw Tx power in the EU, 200mw in the USA). That's about 1500ft, much more than you'll need as the legal limit for lots of places if only 400ft.. Happy flying!

Not that I know of. Hopefully someone in the RC community with programming skills will be able to work it out.

Hobbyking has changed their website and now the Firmware is renamed and missing. You get a "404" page when you click on the link to download it.

Is there an update where also the nr of mix functions are expanded from 1 to 2 or 3?
I've not seen one - I'd ask the vendor. This isn't really designed for use with anything but multirotors.. Best of luck with it.
