    My first car was a 1.1 indigo blue 106. The breaks were spongy and the clutch was nearly gone, but I loved it and is still the most fun I've ever had driving a car. Dream would be to get my hands on a 106 rallye at some point.

    I’m owning Peugeot 106 Quicksliver 1360 cc 8 v 75 hp produced 1998.I have that car almost 8 years.I insert PILOT SPORT Air Intake and changed the exhaust into loud one.The car drives very well and I didn’t have any problems yet.Farest place that I’ve been with the car was Italy and French Alps.Such amazing little sport car that not consuming so much petrol.It’s disappointing that Peugeot 106 was stopped in production in 2002.Great video by the way.Kind Regards

    Many years ago I had a 106 1.1 only 60bhp but still a lot of fun. I also had a Saxo but somehow prefered the 106 it just felt a bit more raw and involving. These days I'd love a s1 1.3 Rallye or GTi but the prices are really up there now.

    Wasn't the Phase 1 a 1300 ( alloy block ), and the Phase 2 1600?
    That is a Phase 2, different front, door handles, and a 1600cc engine ( still 8 valve but cast iron block )

    • @asphalthedgehog6580
      @asphalthedgehog6580 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. This is an 8 valve phase II Rallye.

      Phase II in black, blue & white.

    • @toadinthehole8085
      @toadinthehole8085 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's 1600cc phase 2 with 105hp not 103hp like it the 1300cc phase 1.. the phase 1 had a fancy F1 design intake manifold . I owned a blue phase 2 and the top speed was 121mph on the flat . Was quick ISH to about 110, also it will rev to 7800 RPM which is way up past the red . 7100 RPM red line . But basically the phase 2 is a saxo vtr 90hp engine with a cam . One can that is with them been 8 valve . The 90hp saxo I had year's late would do pretty much the same on the same road 120

    • @tau-ceti

    • @pugpete1
      @pugpete1 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, the s1 came on cam @ about 4kish and was pretty savage for a standard production car. The s2 was still a great car and could still hustle around corners, but the engine was a lot less interesting.

    • @tau-ceti
      @tau-ceti ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pugpete1 It was actually more like 5k - the high compression plus the aggressive cam profile really pushed the power curve into the high revs. It was useless below 5k and to get the most out of it, you really had to change gear above 7k, otherwise you would be below 5k again with no power. In short...you had to thrash it.

    So engine capacity for the homologation 106 rallye was dropped to 1.3? In the ad it says "under the bonnet is a 103bhp 1.6-litre 8-valve inline-four". So it's not the original engine?

    • @ExMachinaEngineering

      yeah series 2 this which was 1.6 the 1.3's are the older shape

    • @orbion2
      @orbion2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@sxrory He says the car makes 100hp at 7200rpm, which is the 1.3. The 1.6's peak power is at 6200 rpm.
      He also says it's interesting that this car has the 'TU-engine', but all 106s have TU engines, even the diesel engines are TU engines.
      It's just kind of confusing that he starts of by talking about the phase 1.3 engined phase 1, when the car that is advertised is a 1.6 phase 2. I don't know much about Peugeots, just to be clear.
