    YEP my bathroom sink is now full of the best skincare products I have found here in Paris (which are mostly under $20). Shout out to all the French pharmacies for holding it down when it comes to keeping this epidermis moisturized. Here's what I use, when I use, and how much I mo-freakin' use.
    🧴 SEGMENTS
    1:03 Step 1 Pre-Skin Care (toothpaste, shaving, etc.)
    3:39 Step 2 Skin Prep (face wash, thermal water, etc.)
    4:36 Step 3 Serums
    7:02 Step 4 Moisturizers + SPF
    9:27 Step 5 (if necessary) Skin Inconveniences
    11:40 Step 5 Finishing Touches
    🧴 WHAT SKIN PRODUCTS I USE DAILY (in order)
    *none of this is sponsored and also, many of these products could be more expensive on amazon because they may not be available in your country and will need to be imported from france. the official names that i use are listed here, but again, since certain ingredients may not be available in your country, the products could even differ a bit. in any case, they will probably be close enough to the products i am using in france to be marketed under the same name. at least let's hope. i linked the closest product to each!

    I always go with the Gillette Fusion Pro Glide razor blades, they're super comfy. Not cheap though. And my go-to for pimples would be Eau Précieuse. Apply for a few minutes and you'll sooth that baby skin right away. They'll be gone in a day or two 👶✌️
    Oh and pure Aloe Vera gel right after. You'll NEVER get irritations ever again. The magic stuff y'all need!

    • @leuvenfra
      @leuvenfra 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pure aloe vera is notoriously difficult to get by. Most has fragrance and alcohol mixed in. But I recommend everyone the innisfree aloe soothing gel!! It's affordable and clean. Also, eau précieuse is full of alcohol and too drying.

    GET A SAFETY RAZOR.
    They're 1)Aesthetically pleasing, 2) Better for the environment, and 3) Cheaper.
    You can get one with a wooden handle and a box of blades online for around 7 euro.

    • @MichaelQPowell
      @MichaelQPowell 4 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      I second the safety razor recommendation. It requires a bit more time and attention to shave this way, but I think it is less hard on the skin, because you are not yanking on the hair with the multiple blades. I don't know how you feel about animal-based products, but building up lather with a a badger hair shaving brush is a wonderful feeling and there is a whole range of shaving soaps and creams in a lot of different scents--I really like lavender and sandalwood.

    The best product I have ever used was La Roche Posay Cicaplast! I had a lot of acne years ago and had to take Accutane pills and that was brutal. Basically one of the side effects is that you stop producing oil so my skin got so dry and my lips were bleeding all the time! I legit couldn't smile because the corner of my lips would slice open!!! Someone told me to use Cicaplast and it was a game-changer. It healed my skin super quickly and now every time I have dry skin (or I pop a pimple) I use this product and it heals my skin overnight! It also works if you have recent acne scars too!!

      @y4miko 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@maryparent9573 Well I'm not from the USA and I pretty much tried everything before using Acutane and nothing else worked. When my doctor talked to me and my parents about it he made sure to also talk about the side effects and he also made sure I didn't have any mental illnesses like depression since it can definitely make it worse. My doctor also prescribed the minimum amount instead of just giving me the amount for my weight and it was the right choice because I didn't need a bigger dose) Personally, I didn't have bad thoughts or anything similar to depression when taking Acutane, but my mom did tell me I was a bit more emotional, nothing too extreme lol The only thing I had wished to know was that some of the side effects would permanently change my skin. I used to have oily skin and even though it has been years since I took Acutane, I now have very dry skin (not just my face but my entire body) and it gets really bad during winter.

    I STAYYYY out here shaving my face. I'm a woman, but y'all... EVERYONE should be shaving their face. I watched a legitimate dermatology video about how serums and products will absorb into the hair instead of fully into your skin. So shaving helps with eliminating dead skin cells and the penetration and absorption of skin care products. It makes sense if you think about it. Plus, it helps with make up application and duration.
    Also, I highly recommend looking into a metal razor! Saves on plastic and on cash cause you don't have to repurchase the razor.

    • @MariannesStudio
      @MariannesStudio 4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      I heard about this, but have heard dermatologists advice caution because if your skin has imperfections, pimples etc you could cause yourself an infection by shaving atop that. I tend to have quite a bit of acne but I hear it works wonders if your skin is quite clear 😊

      @@MariannesStudio Soooo true! I don't have the clearest skin (acne, PD, etc.) and find if I shave lightly, it actually works as an exfoliant and helps my acne, BUT that's absolutely something to keep in mind! Everyone's skin is different. When in doubt, always reach out to a professional!

      Not everyone should be shaving their face. There are plenty of people who have sensitive skin and should not do any type of physical exfoliation (which shaving is, as it physically removes superficial skin cells). Also, as others have said, if one has imperfections on their skin like pimples, shaving could worsen the problem, by infecting it or even by cutting your skin and effectively damaging it further.
      There are plenty of products that will have the same results you mention without having such a high risk of damaging your skin, like chemical exfoliants, certain toners/serums that contain ingredients that react with your skin and make it absorb other skin products better, and also some moisturizers/makeup primers.
      Of course, if one wants to start a skin care routine the best would be to go to a dermatologist and ask for help. But if one doesn't have the means to do so, there are plenty of people online who are willing to give their professional advice, like Dr. Dray, Dr. Davin Lim, and Cassandra Bankson (also Hyram, although not a professional, does have very sound advice)

      Chad Hinkle toners can add a layer of hydration like the Avene he uses. Or can have exfoliating acids. I wouldn’t say they are just for people who use make up. I use a hydration one almost every day cause my skin is dehydrated and it’s just another layer of moisture and and acidic exfoliating one two or three times a week instead of a scrub.

    • @ProgrammedToFunction

      Sneak Bynk not a must. Really proper cleanser and moisturiser are like vital. If you’re using a unscented moisturiser and don’t have sensitive eyes you could probably use it around the eye area. Then serum is a great add on for more targeted concerns like lines, discolouration or dehydration.

    French skincare is nothing to be raved about, it's pretty much old wives tale and I am French so I know what I am talking about. Compositions are usually very basic (which isn't bad by any mean) but they sure are cheap when it comes to actives, they usually don't put any or very watered down versions.
    And mineral water do nothing for your skin apart from drying it if you don't put moisturizer on right after (or else, transpidermal water loss)
    Good skin equals retinol/tretinoin. and sunscreen.

      @@PassionPno Asians as a whole have refined and childlike features that help make them look younger later in life. Retinol/tretinoin has shown to thicken the deep layers of the skin by promoting collagen production hence the benefits.
      It's not because a certain sample of the world population does not need it that it's not working. And do I have to reming you that the sheer fact that Asians use sunscreen heavily is in itself one of the most powerful anti-aging thing you can do? Europeans are notorious for sunbathing resulting in skin cancer, wrinkles and brown spots. Both east asians and europeans have similar melanins levels.

    Umm, Damon, I have to admit I checked the ingredients of La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF 50 and didn't like them too much, sorry to say... silicones, benzoic acid, aluminum, and a long list of others. Maybe it's just me, but I'm hyper-vigilant about keeping it as natural as possible for my skin (also, we "ingest" these things through our skin). So, well, for almost 10 years I've used this for my facial skin: extra virgin coconut oil, sometimes olive oil. Both work great for make-up removal as well! Works perfectly fine for me - I just moisten my skin a little before gently applying so it sinks in faster. Not intending to brag but will be 40 this year and people often guess me at 25 - just happened today 😆 Well, I guess there's other factors for that, too...

    This is a fun video, first of yours I’m seeing. I’d totally watch more. Tiny bit of advice I’ve learned,- when dropping serums onto the face don’t let the dropper touch your skin, like at all. What happens is bacteria and even other products are being gathered on the tip. Now it’s not the biggest deal but give a week or two or ten and unless you are disinfecting the dropper, the bacteria is still there. Those products are so concentrated that you can totally put them in your hand first. I know every beauty blogger does this and even company’s instas show this technique but it’s just a marketing thing, it looks more visually appealing but it’s inviting bacteria growth. The same reason we wash a towel is the same reason we should disinfect the dropper, or just don’t put it in contact with our skin. I hope this is helpful :)
