We’ve got tons of way to filter data in Microsoft Clarity, including standard filters, and advanced filters. What if you want to add some additional filters? Well you can, if you add custom tags. How easy is it to do that? Well, pretty easy if you understand what you want to capture AND you know which template files or pages you need to edit on your website. In this post, we will look at a couple of examples of how to add custom tags to filter the dashboard and recordings even further.

Hi Megan. Thank you for the video, but you shouldn't really be making any changes to the theme. If anyone copies your code and does the same they will lose all their changes after the theme is updated.
You can use a plugin like Full Picture (this is my own plugin) to install Clarity and send all the tags you need. Alternatively use Google Tag Manager for Wordpress plugin and do all the setup for Clarity and tagging in GTM. But this requires much more time than using Full Picture.
I hope this helps. Have a good day Megan :)

Agree with you there that it's much less risky/destructive setting tags from the Google Tag Manager. However one can still hardcode in the theme - just need to make 100% sure that you are doing it in a child WP theme.
Every WP website should be working from a child theme. Can't stress this enough.
