Man that is kinda wholesome. The fact that she has 20,000+ viewers on any given stream and is still concerned about this one particular young viewer is so thoughtful.
La+ mentioned once that she receives fanmail from grade schoolers. A younger audience is probably something to keep in mind the more Hololive becomes more mainstream
Idol culture is as mainstream as it can get in Japan. From what I remember, when most students get asked what they want to be in the future. They put in idols as one of their answer. And now as Vtuber idols. So current idols really try to be conscious of their antics. But as Vtuber idols, the traditional practice of protecting their image has been broken. Nowadays they just worry of relationships (ex: Rushia)
Nah if your audience is mostly young adults, you keep your content to be for young adults. Don’t change anything. If a younger fan appears in chat, either have the talent and the fans be respectful to them or kindly tell them to go to another stream as it’s not for them.
I dont think keeping things squeaky clean is too important with this generation. Kids need to grow up real fast these days because the world has grown less and less inclined to coddle them. Its fine to be considerate but I dont think kids mind it if the content is a little crass
I think it's more a thing for the community to keep in mind, tbh. Subaru shouldn't have to fuss over the idea there might be young viewers in the audience, but I think the fellow fans should be mindful of that possibility when interacting with each other. In other words; be kind and respectful when talking to fellow Holo-fans. Nobody wants to be the guy who made the 10-year old in their oshi's fanbase cry.
4:16 I like how chat and Subaru decided that even a single middle school girl watching her stream is overthinking it and some ojisan pretending to be a middle school girl is more realistic
This reminds me of a highschool junior I had. He was huge, like need to duck a bit or his head could hit the top of doorframes huge. Had a very chiseled face, probably because he had gigantism. He's a gentle giant, a humble student and a polite junior but even his simple act of walking towards or pass along, some people became scared stiff just because of his intimidating size and scary face. Shuba's low and loud voice is like that, whatever she said, even encouraging words could scare some people even if she's just talking normally. Poor Shuba, she must have been misunderstood many times because of her voice.
Honestly, while Subaru said this her usual talk is the one who attract male viewers. Even in her weekend RPG stream, she really play like a pervert male student.
Just a few hours ago, a jp holofan posted on twitter, curious about everyone's age. There're no shortage of junior high and high schoolers in the reply section. Yes, the more adult have to keep them in mind while commenting but also, don't hold back that much. Some parts aren't our responsibilty, the parents will have to guide the kids.
Thats sweet of Subaru ngl. Off topic but is it just me or has this year seen a growing recognition of female fans across Hololive? Like there were products aimed for girls, im seeing more clips of holomems talking aboit theit female fans. Also, I wonder if there is also a growing number of girls watching. Theres always been girls watching but maybe there are more coming over now? Idk. Its cool to see the company do more with them in mind. Hi girl fans!
I don't know but as a female, I think there is one or two merchandise targeted at women but the character design and other things (for example a gimmick the talent do in the ark, for yuri enjoyer maybe thats a win) is not that friendly for female in general (this is my opinion bc I watch two sides, it just rare on the other side), maybe bc a balance (f&m) fans sometimes more easier to manage (?) or maybe they want to do/ask girls things (like kobo asking for skincare advice in her x)
@@annacme-fs5gs thats true. It does still feel pretty geared to young men. I have a feeling that it comes from the talents, because Hololive often works with the talents rather than directing them. Maybe they know there are some girls watching and want to do more with them in mind rather than exclusively focus on their large male audiences. Though I hear that some talents actually are pretty evenly split on the gender ratio. Not sure if its actually true but I heard people like Cali and Marine are pretty popular with girls
when she says "this kid might cry" were she referring to how the kid might cry because of how strong Subaru might appear or she'll cry because of the chat? I dont get that part.
@@Damian125id the latter. Subaru's talking about how harsh the chat was towards Subaru and the kid was the only one innocently cheering for Subaru. That's why she's planning to 'clean up' the chat in the first place.
Wait, she's really talking about salty language? Pretty sure someone on the Xitter has seen that already. I thought she was talking about making her fan cry by losing the game, and I was gonna recommend she get good.
As a western viewer, I don’t quite understand what she means. Purposefully changing the chat to be conscious of a minority of younger, specifically female viewers? That doesn’t seem like a good idea to me. Maybe I’m misunderstanding.
I'm not Japanese so I might be wrong, but I think it has more to do with the level of politeness in their chat. Like the one Subaru mentions in this clip 'hayaku shiro', is a strong and very rude word. Game streams usually attract these kind of rude backseaters, you dont need to be japanese to understand that. What she's trying to do is to make sure everyone can enjoy and have fun watching her streams without her having to warn anyone to keep the chat civil. This isn't just Subaru's problem, pretty much everyone in holo has raised similar concern on the backseaters, even the EN girls too I think.
Unless you know the reference behind 'anbu' (Naruto) and not rely on 'keikaku'-style translator explanation, dark agents is fine for the given context. Though 'anbu (mods)' might be a better way to translate it a la furigana.
@@HandleToBeDetermined i'd like to think that naruto terms are well enough known in vtuber fans sphere since the overlap between anime fans and vtuber fans should be almost 100%.. but i always prefer 'keikaku'-style translation notes, or 'anbu (mods)' sounds good to me too. but i realize many translators on youtube prefer the 'localization' style or less text on screen as possible style, which i really dont like. maybe i'm old fashioned, but translation notes really helped me learn a lot of japanese in the beginning.. i mean nobody would even recognize the word 'keikaku' if it weren't for the meme XD

Getting pregnant in Ark and parenting Kanade in GTA unlocked her motherly instincts.
it all makes sense now

At the same time, you don't want it to be too sterile to the point where they lose the thing that made them successful to begin with.
