It’s like everyone says that I can always talk to them if I’m upset but when i actually do they either change the subject, or tell me to stop complaining and tell why I _should_ be happy, and then I feel bad for complaining too much because I’m supposed to make things better and not be a burden, should I stop telling people how i feel, should I just act like I’m fine.

I hate pink honestly. The diamonds listened to her and gave her exactly what she wanted and when she didnt want it anymore they got pissed off. Pink was selfish and she was a terrible person, she did selfish things that couldve simply been avoided (an example would be in the new steven universe movie), she just didnt care and manipulated many people. Sure she may not have had the best upbringing, but thats no excuse to be a manipulative and selfish person, especially when she had people around her who genuinely loved her, she still used them and hurt them. Pink diamond is a gem thats supposed to represent love, what a joke.
I find it funny how everyone forgives the other diamonds for mentally abusing Pink Diamond for centuries, and for devastating planet after planet, everyone forgives Jasper for destroying Amethyst’s self-worth and for holding Lapis in an abusive relationship, everyone forgave Spinel for trying to destroy an entire planet and kill someone who had never personally hurt her, yet, no one am forgive Pink Diamond for trying to save Earth, trying to be loved and respected by the diamonds, but ended up going about it in the wrong way. Why do these character deserve love, yet not Pink Diamond. No one is perfect, we all make mistakes even when we have good intentions
I think it's because Spinel is more understandable. I mean.. She seemed to be like a kid or a puppy who was abandoned. People feeling sad for her, and just completely forgot that abandoming Spinel wasn't the only thing Pink did.
Spinel never really wanted to hurt people, she was dealing with her issues in the wrong way. Pink D, abandoned Spinel and completely forgot her meaning she never cared for her. Like the song says. She left her son the responsibility of her actions and put his life, his friends the planet in danger. These issues are entirely her fault, I guess they can't forgive Her cause she isn't there to answer for them. Everyone else was. She never even tired to reconnect with Spinel after finding out how much life is on earth.

Im watching this after the movie! But now i realize so much with the fandom. Some people hate pink because of the way she treated others, like spinel. But ever think of how pink was treated? Pink maybe never KNEW how to be truly loved or how to live truly in return, she used to be locked in a tower for many years on end so maybe she never knew how to treat others, and thought leaving others and harming them emotionaly wasnt wrong, because thats how she was treated. Omg I used not to care about people's emotions because I assumed they didn't care about me. So I would just leave them and move on. Unlike Pink, I changed and fixed my past errors
from my perspective, I think I know why some hated pink cause yeah it was true that pink had been suffering so much in the hands of the diamonds but in this situation, almost all of the people she hurt didn't even do anything bad to her. Yeah, maybe she doesn't know how to treat others because of what she has been through and that explains it, but not actually excuse it. Maybe that's why they seem to see that pink was bad. punchparty 400 in my opinion, she started the rebellion because the diamonds didn’t listen to her when she said that she didn’t want to make Earth a colony. They didn’t listen so she turned into Rose Quartz and started the rebellion. She hoped to make the diamonds worry about her getting hurt by the rebellion but they told her to ignore it. They told her that she was a diamond and she couldn’t get hurt by some gems. So that’s when she faked her shattering because of how tired she was of the diamonds. She ran away to Earth because she saw freedom there and joy. Well that’s in my opinion. You may debate against this if you like. I don’t mind.
Before the movie, not many really had a problem with pink/rose but after it, she's suddenly the worst creature to ever exist. People also seen to ignore the fact that, any of the other diamonds would have shattered or bubbled spinel, pink left her because she wanted to prove she wasn't a child to the others, and she left her un-poofed so maybe she hoped spinel would have moved on. Also, if the other diamonds (especially blue) missed pink so much, why did they never go to the garden and find spinel? Its not like it was a secret, it even hints that they created it. And bringing the younger spinal into A WAR! Would have been MUCH worse than leaving her.
Trying to teach your child to grow and be responsible and learn skills is an understanding desire but it can be destructive when one dismisses their children’s genuine interests and desires for this learning process. Everyone can learn trades at any point in their life. It is much more important to help your child grow morally and emotionally because no matter how skilled they are that mental stunting will deter them from being a happy & fulfilled person.

This actually almost made me cry. Blue and Yellow diamond are representing parents who gave you so much but they don't care about how you feel. My father is exactly like this. Telling me how wrong I'm doing whether "This is what going to happen at the workplace" "How can you find a job with that personality" "You're room is so messy. You can't do anything right". And then proceed on buying me stuff that will "satisfied" me and saying we give you this cause we love you and then use it to their advantages on blackmailing. Pink diamond want them to understand her feelings and let her enjoy the things she loves. But wouldn't cause of the responsibilities she has. It would bring a tear in their relationship on not seeing them or dissapeared in general aka the shattering.

Honestly IMO, the only diamond that was properly set up for redemption was blue diamond. Blue diamond showed that she did care for pink even when reprimanding her. Of course she also didn't listen to what Pink was saying, but she at least remained compassionate. After pink diamond's "shattering" blue diamond genuinely showed remorse and grief throughout the entirety of the show, and it affected all of her actions. She attempted to preserve pink diamond's memory and even said that human's didn't deserve their imminent destruction from the cluster. And she genuinely understood where Steven was coming from after he explained to her in the tower that she was and had been unintentionally verbally abusive to pink diamond. Yellow showed that she missed pink, but never showed any respect for life on earth or organic life in general. And white diamond, as cool as she was when she was first introduced, definitely did not show any sort of change before her complete 180. I know this may seem like I'm just putting Blue Diamond on a pedestal, and maybe I am. TL;DR: I really think that Blue was consistently progressing and showing a progression towards redemption, whereas yellow diamond only showed one or two moments of it toward the end of the show, and white diamond did a complete 180. Blue mentally and emotionally abused Pink Diamond just as much as Yellow and White. Just because she "missed" Pink or tried to preserve her memory means nothing. She demeaned Pink for caring for organic life in Steven's flashbacks. Her and Yellow threw Pink in the tower anytime Pink tried to be herself. Consistently all the Diamonds abused her, and Blue deserves a redemption arc? Blue mentally and emotionally abused Pink. Yellow physically abused Pink, and White mentally abused her by demeaning her thoughts and ideas. All 3 of them do not deserve redemption arcs if we are holding them to the same standard that the fandom holds Pink. Everyone gets pissed that Pink abandoned Spinel, but no one talks about how the Diamonds emotionally neglected Pink, and emotionally abandoned her. I can't agree with your statement simply because yes, you are placing her on a pedestal. Blue is the embodiment of how emotionally abusive mothers guilt trip their children into apologizing for something they shouldn't have to apologize for. So no, Blue wasn't "set up" for a redemption arc. She forced Pink day after day in that tower to apologize for adoring organic life, chastising her for who she is.

To begin, I never once said that blue diamond deserves a redemption arc. I said that she was the only one with a set up for some semblance of one. What I meant in my comment, was that the redemption of all of the diamonds is something that I believe was extremely rushed. I meant that blue diamond, through her actions after pink diamonds "shattering", had some foundation for a POTENTIAL redemption arc in comparison to the OTHER diamonds. I do not, and will not argue that Blue Diamond is a good moral character or a good parent to pink diamond, because in short she was not. I was trying to convey that the only diamond who I BELIEVE could have changed before the finale was blue diamond. I stand by the statement that all of blue's actions after pink's shattering were driven from blue's care for pink. Preserving her gems, protecting her buildings, saying that the being's of earth didn't deserve to die because that is what pink would have wanted, etc. And really, I don't believe I was putting Blue on a pedestal. My comment was an evaluation of the diamond's actions after pink's shattering that could have potentially been a baseline for redemption. I never argued that blue, yellow, and white abused blue diamond more or less, as I believe they are all extremely abusive. But the diamond's actions after the shattering, it is without question that blue was shown to be the closest to being redeemable through her actions, even if those actions were simply being less bad than the other 2 diamonds. The way the diamonds treated Pink was fucked up, but the only diamond who seemed to give even the slightest hint of redeemable behavior was blue diamond, even if it was only a little bit it was still more than the other two. I was by no means invalidating the suffering felt by pink or saying that blue diamond was a perfect angel, and I apologize if it came off that way.

This hit me hard. This comic just reminds me of me and my parents. The dialogue between Pink and Blue and Yellow are almost exactly like my constant conversations with them. especially that last part where she finally talks back. It gave me chills. I never related harder to another character I my life. I just feel like Pink did. My mom is like Yellow and my dad is like Blue.

I feel bad for Pink Diamond, she wasn't treated right, she's better, when she became Rose Quartz, she changed, she wasnt who she was anymore, she did some awful things, but she's not like that anymore, if she was perfect, we wouldn't have Steven. Please, forgive Pink Diamond, she was treated bad by the other diamonds because White treated the other diamonds badly too, she isn't bad, she has changed, she grew up for the better. She cares for earth and the beings that live in it, if she was so selfish that she didn't give birth to Steven and let him die, she would be more of a bad person to everyone. She isn't a bratty child, she's like us, some of us were maybe brats or were rude in the past, but we grow up. It's not Pink's fault for growing up, if she never did, she'd be the spoiled brat we now to today.
Blue and Yellow wanted her to be happy, they wanted her to have everything she wanted. Yellow and Blue thought she wanted to be a Diamond like them, not letting her be herself. They didn't know what they were doing was making her upset, because they couldn't see the flaws in themselves. Blue and Yellow were the kind of abusive parents who thought whatever they did was for the better good, putting the empire over pink. Once Steven helped them realize that, they broke down. They realized why pink left and how bad of a family they were to Pink.
In my opinion (it's just an opinion), the show wasn't trying to make her that sympathetic. The show wanted to show us her many reasons, her kind personality and her genuine good intentions, but still show that what she did caused a lot of harm and death and it may have worked out a simpler way if she wasn't so childish and reckless. She's far from a terrible person , but she's shown as a character who couldn't see the consequences of her actions before it was too late. She's a very morally ambiguous character, in short.

And when she started the rebellion, even then it was obvious that just scaring gems off the planet wouldn't do, just another proof the didn't thought it through. But at the end of the day, she was just trying to escape and live freely. I feel bad when people make her the villain, because I can relate so much to her.
It's bad that the fandom hated her for the trauma she caused, but I can relate to Pink in possible ways. She and I wanted our authoritative guardians (parents in short) to be happy at our skills but they judged our efforts and didn't care enough to appreciate. Everyone are both complicated and detailed. Pink may be bad, but she doesn't know the causes of her actions. Everyone will say she's manipulative and wants to be happy but she wanted to be like the other diamonds. She just wants them to be happy for her efforts instead of scolding her (Seen in Change Your Mind where they locked her in the Tower). She didn't know the consequences because she wasn't experienced with watching a loved one killed, hiding a strong secret, or even being abandoned for 6000 years. Pink wanted to show them the joy and love on Earth but she tried. She tried!! She TRIED!
I honestly wouldn't hate Pink so much if she hadn't said "We're not creating life from nothing. We're taking life, and leaving nothing behind. " because that shows that for all her whining she doesn't know how to run a Colony. If that line a dialogue didn't exist I would just say that she is an awful person.
What people don't take into account is that Pink/Rose has the same character arc as a lot of our favorite antagonists-turned-friends, except we as an audience are shown it in reverse. We first "meet" her at the end of her arc where she is a good person and a legitimate hero, and gradually flash back to how she got there and seeing more recently that she started off naive, spoiled, and uncaring before she realized that what she was doing was wrong and taking steps to fix it. But rather than recognize the arc, people act like it wasn't there and Pink was at her start state the entire time - which if that were true the Earth would be a lifeless gem colony and there would be no Steven.
this actually reminds me way too much about how my parents used to treat me. I'm talking about this comic in particular + the scene in the show where Blue diamond attacked steven with her powers in the tower when she got upset. Abuse sucks ass.
Long-term fans know what they're getting when it comes to dubbed comics. I for one have been watching Princely's dubs for around 2 years now, I know her work well enough to drop a like as soon as I click on the video, because her voice talent didn't miraculously change since the last time I watched a video. If there was an issue with the work in the video, I'd still like the video but would comment any deserving concerns in a polite way. Princely works hard at what she does, and that work deserves acknowledgement. TL;DR some of us don't need to watch the video first to know she deserves the likes.

Anna Kolasinski how about the fact that once she realized what a terrible person she was and how terrible her family was she spent her life as Rose Quartz fighting to preserve all life, even crying tears of pain and sorrow every time someone got hurt. And then the whole giving up her life on home world to save a planet she has no real stake in other then she feels guilt for what her and her family did to the people of earth. And even helped gems to discover who they are and realize they don’t have to be only what some tyrant says they have to be. Not to mention she sacrificed her own life to have a child with Greg out of love. I’m not saying that in her Diamond days she wasn’t a spoiled tyrant or that as Rose she was a saint, but to say she’s irredeemable when she literally committed her life to trying to cleanse her sins and those of her family is just ignorant to me. Especially since redemption is kind of a huge theme in the SU Universe, and Pink has worked her butt off to obtain it. Also there’s the fact that when she left Spinel she was a different person who wasn’t aware of the consequences of the Diamonds and the suffering they caused. Just saying
I actually always liked Pink Diamond. I mean, she ended up as a Good character after all she went through. She moved from young selfish baby, who could destroy everything, to wise woman, who could heal everyone and everything because she loved those everyone and everything. All people says that Pink Diamond is bad, and it is basically true, but I barely hear anyone saying that Rose Quarts is bad, while they are the same character. Rose Quarts was just an older version of Pink and she MOVED from this stage thousands of years ago. Why people still trying to judge Pink Diamond from her "starting" point ? because the Show shows us her path from the end to the beginning? I agree, she wasn't perfect but no body is! Maybe the audience sees the situation as the author conveys to them, but then I have a question for Rebeka: Why she did this to her viewers and characters? To just have a scapegoat, which everybody already hate, on which you can dump everything and pretend that everyone else is cute and fluffy? Not good (
I have been on this planet for 19 years....one thing I've learned is be yourself even if it cost you. Your a gem in a sea of other gems. Some might shatter others might not but what matters is how YOU react not how are you SUPPOSE to react.

We know exactly who the real villain is: White Diamond, who set up the entire tyrannical gem hierarchy and drilled into her subjects - even her fellow diamonds - terrible ideas of what counts as worth and how to treat those that do not fall in line. Unless it was someone else who made her like that in which case that person is the real villain. That said, Spinel was a villain. A sympathetic one, but still a villain. Her feelings were justified but not her actions. Luckily she saw the error of her ways eventually, and began working on being a better person. Just like Lapis, Peridot, Bismuth, and Pink Diamond before her. Oh, and the other Diamonds kind of but they still have the most work to do.
@@HobGungan i was mainly pointing the finger at Pink, her abandonment of Spinel was entirely unnecessary in the first place. She treated Spinel like a toy, and being the child she was, she grew bored of Spinel and basically threw her away in the worst kind of way. Honestly, I thought Spinel's actions were entirely justified: Pink took away 6000 years from Spinel, Spinel tried to take away 6000 years of work away from who she assumed to be Pink. I see that as entirely fair.
This video hit hard for me. Me and my mom are basically in the exact same relationship as this, me being pink, and my mom the other diamonds. I understand pink on a personal level and I understand her actions because I feel the same way....

Tim David Bismuth was ready to SHATTER gems just to win a war, also, Spinel seemed to be TO clingy to Pink Diamond and not really knowing how to read a room that Pink Diamond really wanted a colony of her own just so she could be treated like other Diamonds, the only reason why she lashed out was because the Diamonds weren’t treating her as an equal, only like a child. They got her everything she WANTED, but never gave her anything she really needed which was respect and love, to be heard as a Diamond and not like a lower gem. Mini story time that no one cares about: Ever since I watched Change your mind for the first time, the song that Steven sang at the end ( I thing it’s called change your mind ) always mad me cry every single time I hear it makes me cry. Yellow and blue were being abusive by using a guilt trip technique that I'm overly familiar with. I understand pink. Sometimes all you want is to start over to not suffer anymore, and when you have a chance, you take it. It's hard to live somewhere where the people you love more than yourself do this to you
Emotions and misunderstandings can lead to some questionable things. Pink and Rose isn't the only one in all of this.😩😩 Our Diamond only wanted acceptance and understanding but she didn't get it nor did Steven in the start before he had to put some sense into the Diamonds who did far more terrible things. Pink didn't want to kill so many Gems and felt remorse unlike other Diamonds who did it on purpose yet still are forgiven.😡😠 Also these feelings let her to see the Diamonds the way we see tyrants. If she didn't our sweet Steven would have never been born and you know the rest.😦😦
What's even more sad is that the comments of multiple SU videos that revolve around a time before the movie are being filled with attention beggars who are like "Aww Spinel is still waiting in the garden 😢😥😥😥😢😢😢😢😫"

sadly it takes what can be considered in some senses a triple scuicide. first shedding her diamond identity, then completely abandoning the gem culture, which for most gems if one were to happen it'd warant them wanting death, let alone both. then she completely sheds her memories.
PiKira I know this is a joke but, spinel was an attempt to make up for taking pinks original best friends away by forcing her with someone she didn’t want to be with. That doesn’t justify what she she did though.
We all forgive Spinel, someone who tried to kill someone that didn’t cause her pain. We all forgive the diamonds, who abused Pink and hurt so many gems. We all forgive Jasper, who tried to make Amythest feel worthless. We all forgive Peridot, who tried to kill Steven. We all make mistakes, Pink made some, nobody is perfect, she isn’t perfect, but she had good intentions, why can’t we just forgive her? We forgave everyone else, they did worse stuff, but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve to be forgiven, same goes to Pink.
Yes. Yes you should. Nobody deserves treatment like that. And Pink/Rose ultimately became a better person and a legitimate hero in spite of her past mistakes. Just like Lapis, Peridot, and Bismuth. And Spinel herself is well on her way to the same redemption if she can work through her issues.

I hate pink honestly. The diamonds listened to her and gave her exactly what she wanted and when she didnt want it anymore they got pissed off. Pink was selfish and she was a terrible person, she did selfish things that couldve simply been avoided (an example would be in the new steven universe movie), she just didnt care and manipulated many people. Sure she may not have had the best upbringing, but thats no excuse to be a manipulative and selfish person, especially when she had people around her who genuinely loved her, she still used them and hurt them. Pink diamond is a gem thats supposed to represent love, what a joke.
I find it funny how everyone forgives the other diamonds for mentally abusing Pink Diamond for centuries, and for devastating planet after planet, everyone forgives Jasper for destroying Amethyst’s self-worth and for holding Lapis in an abusive relationship, everyone forgave Spinel for trying to destroy an entire planet and kill someone who had never personally hurt her, yet, no one am forgive Pink Diamond for trying to save Earth, trying to be loved and respected by the diamonds, but ended up going about it in the wrong way. I think it's because Spinel is more understandable. I mean.. She seemed to be like a kid or a puppy who was abandoned. People feeling sad for her, and just completely forgot that abandoming Spinel wasn't the only thing Pink did.

punchparty 400 in my opinion, she started the rebellion because the diamonds didn’t listen to her when she said that she didn’t want to make Earth a colony. They didn’t listen so she turned into Rose Quartz and started the rebellion. She hoped to make the diamonds worry about her getting hurt by the rebellion but they told her to ignore it. They told her that she was a diamond and she couldn’t get hurt by some gems. So that’s when she faked her shattering because of how tired she was of the diamonds. She ran away to Earth because she saw freedom there and joy.
Well that’s in my opinion. You may debate against this if you like. I don’t mind.
Before the movie, not many really had a problem with pink/rose but after it, she's suddenly the worst creature to ever exist. People also seen to ignore the fact that, any of the other diamonds would have shattered or bubbled spinel, pink left her because she wanted to prove she wasn't a child to the others, and she left her un-poofed so maybe she hoped spinel would have moved on. Also, if the other diamonds (especially blue) missed pink so much, why did they never go to the garden and find spinel? Its not like it was a secret, it even hints that they created it. And bringing the younger spinal into A WAR! Would have been MUCH worse than leaving her.

Trying to teach your child to grow and be responsible and learn skills is an understanding desire but it can be destructive when one dismisses their children’s genuine interests and desires for this learning process.
Everyone can learn trades at any point in their life. It is much more important to help your child grow morally and emotionally because no matter how skilled they are that mental stunting will deter them from being a happy & fulfilled person.

This actually almost made me cry. Blue and Yellow diamond are representing parents who gave you so much but they don't care about how you feel. My father is exactly like this. Telling me how wrong I'm doing whether "This is what going to happen at the workplace" "How can you find a job with that personality" "You're room is so messy. You can't do anything right". And then proceed on buying me stuff that will "satisfied" me and saying we give you this cause we love you and then use it to their advantages on blackmailing. Pink diamond want them to understand her feelings and let her enjoy the things she loves. But wouldn't cause of the responsibilities she has. It would bring a tear in their relationship on not seeing them or dissapeared in general aka the shattering.

Honestly IMO, the only diamond that was properly set up for redemption was blue diamond. Blue diamond showed that she did care for pink even when reprimanding her. Of course she also didn't listen to what Pink was saying, but she at least remained compassionate. After pink diamond's "shattering" blue diamond genuinely showed remorse and grief throughout the entirety of the show, and it affected all of her actions. She attempted to preserve pink diamond's memory and even said that human's didn't deserve their imminent destruction from the cluster. And she genuinely understood where Steven was coming from after he explained to her in the tower that she was and had been unintentionally verbally abusive to pink diamond. Yellow showed that she missed pink, but never showed any respect for life on earth or organic life in general. And white diamond, as cool as she was when she was first introduced, definitely did not show any sort of change before her complete 180. I know this may seem like I'm just putting Blue Diamond on a pedestal, and maybe I am.
TL;DR: I really think that Blue was consistently progressing and showing a progression towards redemption, whereas yellow diamond only showed one or two moments of it toward the end of the show, and white diamond did a complete 180. Thanks for coming to my TED talk

All 3 of them do not deserve redemption arcs if we are holding them to the same standard that the fandom holds Pink. Everyone gets pissed that Pink abandoned Spinel, but no one talks about how the Diamonds emotionally neglected Pink, and emotionally abandoned her. I can't agree with your statement simply because yes, you are placing her on a pedestal. Blue is the embodiment of how emotionally abusive mothers guilt trip their children into apologizing for something they shouldn't have to apologize for. So no, Blue wasn't "set up" for a redemption arc. She forced Pink day after day in that tower to apologize for adoring organic life, chastising her for who she is.

What I meant in my comment, was that the redemption of all of the diamonds is something that I believe was extremely rushed. I do not, and will not argue that Blue Diamond is a good moral character or a good parent to pink diamond, because in short she was not. I was trying to convey that the only diamond who I BELIEVE could have changed before the finale was blue diamond. I stand by the statement that all of blue's actions after pink's shattering were driven from blue's care for pink. Preserving her gems, protecting her buildings, saying that the being's of earth didn't deserve to die because that is what pink would have wanted, etc. And really, I don't believe I was putting Blue on a pedestal. My comment was an evaluation of the diamond's actions after pink's shattering that could have potentially been a baseline for redemption. I never argued that blue, yellow, and white abused blue diamond more or less, as I believe they are all extremely abusive. But the diamond's actions after the shattering, it is without question that blue was shown to be the closest to being redeemable through her actions, even if those actions were simply being less bad than the other 2 diamonds. The way the diamonds treated Pink was fucked up, but the only diamond who seemed to give even the slightest hint of redeemable behavior was blue diamond, even if it was only a little bit it was still more than the other two. I was by no means invalidating the suffering felt by pink or saying that blue diamond was a perfect angel, and I apologize if it came off that way.

I feel bad for Pink Diamond, she wasn't treated right, she's better, when she became Rose Quartz, she changed, she wasnt who she was anymore, she did some awful things, but she's not like that anymore, if she was perfect, we wouldn't have Steven. Please, forgive Pink Diamond, she was treated bad by the other diamonds because White treated the other diamonds badly too, she isn't bad, she has changed, she grew up for the better. She cares for earth and the beings that live in it, if she was so selfish that she didn't give birth to Steven and let him die, she would be more of a bad person to everyone. She isn't a bratty child, she's like us, some of us were maybe brats or were rude in the past, but we grow up. Blue and Yellow wanted her to be happy, they wanted her to have everything she wanted. Yellow and Blue thought she wanted to be a Diamond like them, not letting her be herself. They didn't know what they were doing was making her upset, because they couldn't see the flaws in themselves. Blue and Yellow were the kind of abusive parents who thought whatever they did was for the better good, putting the empire over pink. Once Steven helped them realize that, they broke down. They realized why pink left and how bad of a family they were to Pink.
Yeah, it’s really sad. I wish Pink survived, so that her and the diamonds could be together again.

In my opinion (it's just an opinion), the show wasn't trying to make her that sympathetic. The show wanted to show us her many reasons, her kind personality and her genuine good intentions, but still show that what she did caused a lot of harm and death and it may have worked out a simpler way if she wasn't so childish and reckless. She's far from a terrible person , but she's shown as a character who couldn't see the consequences of her actions before it was too late. She's a very morally ambiguous character, in short.

Okay, yeah, she didn't think it through, she didn't think there would be retaliation because even if she wasn't loved (which wasn't the case), she was still a diamond, the other wouldn't let someone destroy a diamond and go unpunished, it would destroy the empire if homeworld gems could shatter a diamond with no consequences. And when she started the rebellion, even then it was obvious that just scaring gems off the planet wouldn't do, just another proof the didn't thought it through. But at the end of the day, she was just trying to escape and live freely. I feel bad when people make her the villain, because I can relate so much to her.
It's bad that the fandom hated her for the trauma she caused, but I can relate to Pink in possible ways. She and I wanted our authoritative guardians (parents in short) to be happy at our skills but they judged our efforts and didn't care enough to appreciate. Everyone are both complicated and detailed. Pink may be bad, but she doesn't know the causes of her actions. Everyone will say she's manipulative and wants to be happy but she wanted to be like the other diamonds. She just wants them to be happy for her efforts instead of scolding her (Seen in Change Your Mind where they locked her in the Tower). She didn't know the consequences because she wasn't experienced with watching a loved one killed, hiding a strong secret, or even being abandoned for 6000 years. Pink wanted to show them the joy and love on Earth but she tried. She tried!! She TRIED!
I honestly wouldn't hate Pink so much if she hadn't said "We're not creating life from nothing. We're taking life, and leaving nothing behind. " because that shows that for all her whining she doesn't know how to run a Colony. If that line a dialogue didn't exist I would just say that she is an awful person.
What people don't take into account is that Pink/Rose has the same character arc as a lot of our favorite antagonists-turned-friends, except we as an audience are shown it in reverse. We first "meet" her at the end of her arc where she is a good person and a legitimate hero, and gradually flash back to how she got there and seeing more recently that she started off naive, spoiled, and uncaring before she realized that what she was doing was wrong and taking steps to fix it.
But rather than recognize the arc, people act like it wasn't there and Pink was at her start state the entire time - which if that were true the Earth would be a lifeless gem colony and there would be no Steven.
This just popped up on my feed, but dang, I've never related to a character so deeply, I'm glad Pink / Rose found a way out.

Long-term fans know what they're getting when it comes to dubbed comics. I for one have been watching Princely's dubs for around 2 years now, I know her work well enough to drop a like as soon as I click on the video, because her voice talent didn't miraculously change since the last time I watched a video. If there was an issue with the work in the video, I'd still like the video but would comment any deserving concerns in a polite way. Princely works hard at what she does, and that work deserves acknowledgement.
TL;DR some of us don't need to watch the video first to know she deserves the likes.

Anna Kolasinski how about the fact that once she realized what a terrible person she was and how terrible her family was she spent her life as Rose Quartz fighting to preserve all life, even crying tears of pain and sorrow every time someone got hurt. And then the whole giving up her life on home world to save a planet she has no real stake in other then she feels guilt for what her and her family did to the people of earth. And even helped gems to discover who they are and realize they don’t have to be only what some tyrant says they have to be. Not to mention she sacrificed her own life to have a child with Greg out of love. I’m not saying that in her Diamond days she wasn’t a spoiled tyrant or that as Rose she was a saint, but to say she’s irredeemable when she literally committed her life to trying to cleanse her sins and those of her family is just ignorant to me. Especially since redemption is kind of a huge theme in the SU Universe, and Pink has worked her butt off to obtain it. Also there’s the fact that when she left Spinel she was a different person who wasn’t aware of the consequences of the Diamonds and the suffering they caused. Just saying
I actually always liked Pink Diamond. I mean, she ended up as a Good character after all she went through. She moved from young selfish baby, who could destroy everything, to wise woman, who could heal everyone and everything because she loved those everyone and everything.
All people says that Pink Diamond is bad, and it is basically true, but I barely hear anyone saying that Rose Quarts is bad, while they are the same character. Rose Quarts was just an older version of Pink and she MOVED from this stage thousands of years ago.
Why people still trying to judge Pink Diamond from her "starting" point ? because the Show shows us her path from the end to the beginning? I agree, she wasn't perfect but no body is!
Maybe the audience sees the situation as the author conveys to them, but then I have a question for Rebeka: Why she did this to her viewers and characters? To just have a scapegoat, which everybody already hate, on which you can dump everything and pretend that everyone else is cute and fluffy?

I have been on this planet for 19 years....one thing I've learned is be yourself even if it cost you. Your a gem in a sea of other gems. Some might shatter others might not but what matters is how YOU react not how are you SUPPOSE to react.
Me: Summary for Pink Diamond. Starts off happy, ends up being sad and then starts a gem war which would eventually "obliterate" a lot of other gems. At least it ends on a happy note...

We know exactly who the real villain is: White Diamond, who set up the entire tyrannical gem hierarchy and drilled into her subjects - even her fellow diamonds - terrible ideas of what counts as worth and how to treat those that do not fall in line. Unless it was someone else who made her like that in which case that person is the real villain.
That said, Spinel was a villain. A sympathetic one, but still a villain. Her feelings were justified but not her actions. Luckily she saw the error of her ways eventually, and began working on being a better person. Just like Lapis, Peridot, Bismuth, and Pink Diamond before her. Oh, and the other Diamonds kind of but they still have the most work to do.

@@HobGungan i was mainly pointing the finger at Pink, her abandonment of Spinel was entirely unnecessary in the first place. She treated Spinel like a toy, and being the child she was, she grew bored of Spinel and basically threw her away in the worst kind of way. Honestly, I thought Spinel's actions were entirely justified: Pink took away 6000 years from Spinel, Spinel tried to take away 6000 years of work away from who she assumed to be Pink. I see that as entirely fair.
This video hit hard for me. Me and my mom are basically in the exact same relationship as this, me being pink, and my mom the other diamonds. I understand pink on a personal level and I understand her actions because I feel the same way....

THIS IS WHAT PINK WENT THROUGH ALL HER LIFE AND NOW PEOPLE ARE BAGGING ON HER BECAUSE SHE DID A FEW BAD THINGS! THIS IS THE REALITY OF WHAT SHE WENT THROUGH!! Pink Diamond was constantly abused and belittled for what she loves. She was treated like trash and was never shown love and understanding. White Diamond is the one who caused Pink to be out of touch with emotions. She was expected to act a certain way and behave a certain way, she was constantly being ridiculed for her being her. All the Diamonds got redemptions, why not Pink? Why’s Pink not apart of being redeemed. She never shattered anyone. I hate how people are thinking that Pink was the real bad guy, but they are blind from what she went through.
Regardless of all of that she still did some shitty things to other gems for no real reason like Spinel and Bismouth there's no real excuse for any of that wether if she was abused or not she still should take full responsibility for her actions plus what she did wasn't just bad it was down right unforgivable that's why people are starting to hate her and I do to cause in the end of the day she is a selfish person who in my opinion deserves to get shattered and main part of it all Steven would probably agree at least on the selfish and unforgivable part

Bismuth was ready to SHATTER gems just to win a war, also, Spinel seemed to be TO clingy to Pink Diamond and not really knowing how to read a room that Pink Diamond really wanted a colony of her own just so she could be treated like other Diamonds, the only reason why she lashed out was because the Diamonds weren’t treating her as an equal, only like a child. They got her everything she WANTED, but never gave her anything she really needed which was respect and love, to be heard as a Diamond and not like a lower gem. Wouldn’t you lash out when your colleagues treat YOU like trash and belittle you?

Yellow and blue were being abusive by using a guilt trip technique that I'm overly familiar with. I understand pink. Sometimes all you want is to start over to not suffer anymore, and when you have a chance, you take it. It's hard to live somewhere where the people you love more than yourself do this to you
Emotions and misunderstandings can lead to some questionable things. Pink and Rose isn't the only one in all of this.😩😩
Our Diamond only wanted acceptance and understanding but she didn't get it nor did Steven in the start before he had to put some sense into the Diamonds who did far more terrible things. Pink didn't want to kill so many Gems and felt remorse unlike other Diamonds who did it on purpose yet still are forgiven.😡😠
Also these feelings let her to see the Diamonds the way we see tyrants. If she didn't our sweet Steven would have never been born and you know the rest.😦😦

sadly it takes what can be considered in some senses a triple scuicide. first shedding her diamond identity, then completely abandoning the gem culture, which for most gems if one were to happen it'd warant them wanting death, let alone both. then she completely sheds her memories.

Yes. Yes you should. Nobody deserves treatment like that. And Pink/Rose ultimately became a better person and a legitimate hero in spite of her past mistakes. Just like Lapis, Peridot, and Bismuth. And Spinel herself is well on her way to the same redemption if she can work through her issues.
