I feel like all of that could go either way honestly, but even if we something happens and this ends up being the last episode of Steven Universe, this would be a far better ending most other shows are ever allowed to have. Even Voltron didn't exactly get the best of endings like we wanted. If it weren't for the constant hiatus between arcs, i don't think i could bare the wait till the movie and the next season.

According to AwestruckVox, that dream was a glimpse into Pink's memories. That insect thing was an organic lifeform from a planet she tried to colonize, indicating an early love for organic life.
More to the point; by seeing it, Steven realized that both Blue and Yellow have imprisoned Pink in that tower on multiple occasions. This was the wake up call Blue needed to realize she was being cruel to the one gem she cares about most
