Thanks very much for this very informative video on the old lead/zinc mines! If I am in the Platteville, WI area, I would love to visit the mine in town. Thanks again.
Watching all your videos, I live in Rochester. Been trying to find somebody with some decent knowledge in video form from around here and this is the best so far. Thank you! I’m a metal detector so this is all crucial info😂
Awesome, thank you! I only throw in the mine / history videos occasionally, but I do have a few more planned. Plus we're digging our own tunnels at Sandland :-)
In your previous story, you accidentally identified the Badger Hut as another mine entrance, I am a guide at the Mathias Ham Huse, where this is located.
@@saveitforpartssaveitforparts No cave or mine, just a replica mine and replica badger/miner's hut. The log cabin is the oldest in The State of Iowa, from 1833. It is shown in the first video.
Coal mines are a bit outside my comfort zone... less stable rock and worse / more explosive air. I looked for some coal mines in Southern MN but I'd think twice about actually going in one, even with gas sensors.

This guy looks like the type of guy you'd want to help you on a difficult and large project because he's used to hardwork.
I was curious how lead was mined in the old days and this video helped me learn. Thanks so much!

It’s a looong drive but the Soudan iron mine is a fascinating tour.
I went up there a few years ago, it's pretty cool!
Glad you saved the poor toad. Poor guy.. Neat video! Definitely can’t be claustrophobic

Hey its Platteville! I went to school there and live in Southern Wisconsin! Pretty neat mining museum!
There's lots of mines in Platteville
I recently discovered your channel and quickly became a subscriber. Keep up the great work!

The algorithm picked up your channel for me
Thanks👍
The mine under the museum was certainly a pleasant surprise! I spy a me!
We should visit more in that area! I hear there are a couple small-town museum mines that are much less OSHA-approved that this one :-D
Were you on the trip to the lead mine under the golf course with the antenna tower? Still the only trip I've ever done with ropes.
Camel crickets are the worst!! I had never seen them before and found one in my house a few years ago. I screamed when it jumped 🤣
Mr Toad: Geeett the slug off my eeeeyye!
OSHA = All the fun's been taken out of the ride.
Come back, zinc! Come back!
Leadhills area here has nice gold, possible indicator minerals would have me sniffing around this area good
Really enjoyed. Made a toad friend as well :).
Please tell me you named the toad Kane. (Not Cane Toad, although that would be pretty good, an Alien reference) T
I hope you bought thise books used as to not give Brick any money

I don't think I've been to that house, is there a cave or mine over there?

@@cindynielsen6435 I'm still not sure if I've ever been there, maybe it's someone else's video?
