Your tutorial gives new meaning to the words "talent and ingenuity". You are an incredible artist. Thank you so much for sharing this exceptionally detailed and helpful felting video,
I have just seen your video and I love your work also being a dog groomer, I can see how much you love and enjoy what you do it’s effortless, they are made with love. Thank you for sharing with us X
hello I am sophia and I am 12! my dream is to create the perfect needle felted dog, and this really helped inspire me! one day I will be as good as you!
Edit: hello Philippa. I am now 13 and am much better at felting. :) Still not as good as I'd like to be (and certainly not as good as you) but at least I'm improving. Every time I need inspiration I look at this video.
When I saw the first photo of the dog, I thought you were showing us a picture of the dog you were going to needle felt. Imagine my surprise when I realized it was the completed project. That was so good! I imagine the person you created it for was absolutely touched by it.
Thank you, yes, Pebbles travelled to their new home in Canada as a touching reminder for their owner, took a while to complete but we'll worth it, thanks for watching ❣️ x
I’m brand new to Felting and have been viewing your videos. I came across this one and WOW!! I can only hope that one day I’ll be able to create something as wonderful as Pebbles ❤
Wow! That is brilliant Philippa and really interesting to see how you did it. It must have taken a lot of time and patience to do the coat but the result is worth it 😀
Lovely dog and so relaxing to watch. Can tell how carefully thought out it was, especially with the details in the fur. My sisters dog just passed away on friday and I was thinking of making her a dog but it has so many unique markings, I'm getting intimidated thinking about making it.
I was too but you won't improve unless you try and just don't tell her about it, then you can really get it right. It's so hard losing a pet, I'm sure she'll be over the moon with your creation, thanks so much Heather x
Thank you Philipa - this is going to be extremely helpful when I do the commissions of the yorkie and a poodle. I don't know what you charge to do things like this, but for that size I'd probably charge about $200. That's a lot of work! Kudos!
I just love your work . I’m a beginner and trying to do a Dashound for my grandaughter who lost her much loved dog , but oh my I’m struggling . I made separate paws with toes that look ridiculous so might cut then off . Can’t wait to do one of your online courses when I’ve had a bit more practise . I really want to do a horses head 😊
@@feltsbyphilippa All your Tutorial videos are so helpful for beginners.. Me too wanna start felting.... That much I got inspired fron you. Thank u so much...❤❤ I wanna make my little hamster... Just like you felted pebbles... She was so realistic..😘 My pet is not with me now.. He's playing in heaven ...😔 I cant forget him ...😞😞
hi i was wondering how do you do the fur effect (only stabbed down at the root, the rest not being stabbed down) without it getting kind of frizzy/fluffy? Since I haven't been able to remove the frizz by stabbing it because that would ruin the fur texture. Lovely video
I'm so glda to find your channel. I've felted a few things before, but you really take it a huge step forward. I felted my brother's dog that passed. It wasn't great, but he loves her. Now I am doing his other dog that passed. This will help me tremendously. Though I already started. Wondering if I should start over. Do you do any consulting? I could pay you for a quick lesson, tips and tricks?
Oh my goodness I am so in awe of your work! This dog is gorgeous and so lifelike ! I am trying hard with wool felting but I am finding it very challenging. Have you written any books on wool felting?
Hi, thank you so much, you are very kind but I'm not that good yet. Cindy Lou Thompson does an excellent dog book that you would like, it's on Amazon, I review it here x th-cam.com/video/Bf-lDM5qFQ0/w-d-xo.html
Hi, thanks so much! So I used several shades but the main two were Hamanaka straight real fur in brown and dark brown from sweetpea dolls, hope that's ok, thanks x
Looks amazing! I've never tried needle felting as it looks very intimidating. I'm a crocheter but we all know crochet items never look that realistic. Should I even attempt this new craft :-)
Thank you so much for sharing your process on Pebbles! Lovely to see! Did you card the wool, so it became easier to apply it as long fur or was it for mixing purpose? Thank you and have a great week!
Hi, the pieces I carded were just for the base of the legs so the paws matched the coat. The rest wasn't carded just pulled out and cut in half to make it go further. Glad you liked it, thanks so much x
I follow the FACEBOOK needle felting group and someone reccomended your videos. So glad!
Thank you, glad you like the channel x
So sweet to see Pebbles come to “life” again. Thank you!
Thanks Wendy, she was beautiful x

Beautiful , thank you x
Thanks 😊🙏x
I do strive to eventually get to this kind of level so I can try to make my pets
Practice really helps and following a good tutorial too if you can find one on the pet you wish to recreate, thanks for watching xx
People have NO idea just how much work goes into these things
Yes, that's true, I think this shows why it takes so long adding the fur
It does indeed and shows the justification for the higher price these artworks should command
I agree x
Beautiful ❤
She/he looks just like my dog ❤
so you can do doggy's ...just bigger hahahahaaa brilliant you are so Talented. Happy felting
Yes, definitely think bigger is easier x

Hi, I've got your email and sent you a reply there, thanks so much xx
Where did you get the wire for the body?❤ because I’m thinking of doing smth like this for my cats😊
I use a 1mm galvanised steel wire and normally double it up x
Oh my goodness I am so in awe of your work! This dog is gorgeous and so lifelike ! I am trying hard with wool felting but I am finding it very challenging. Have you written any books on wool felting?

Beautiful , 🥰🌹
Thank you x
How do you get a he fur to plant into the legs? I am really struggling with this. The wire just won’t allow the fur to stick.
This dog is a reasonable size so I have enough wool leg underneath that the wool on top will plant in properly but still at a 45 degree angle x
I lack the talent for such high quality work. Is it possible to buy Pebbles or any of his pals anywhere?
Sorry no, Pebbles was a commission and he's in his new home, anything I do sell is in my Etsy shop, link in description, thanks x
WOW!!! 💜
Thanks x
Hi Philippa! I am in awe! Could you possibly tell me what wool you're using and what colour? Its exactly what I need for a neighbour's rabbit 😍 xx

@@feltsbyphilippa wow! Much easier than crochet? I've got to try it out. Thank you 😘 will keep you updated haha
🙂
He looks real!!!!!! Shame you said in most recent video you not keen felting dogs. Time intensive I bet.
Yes, it's just not really me but Pebbles came out good so I was happy x
How long did it take you to do? It's so fabulous! I'm thinking to have a go 😁
Pebbles took about 5 days, need lots of breaks but worth it in the end x
@@feltsbyphilippa it's so worth the time! 😁
How much felt do u use approximately for a dog this size
I would say at least 400-500 grams xx
Thank you so much for sharing your process on Pebbles! Lovely to see! Did you card the wool, so it became easier to apply it as long fur or was it for mixing purpose? Thank you and have a great week!

About 8 inches high x
There’s really no shortcut to long hair is there? 😕
No but it's lovely to do and just looks great when done x
