I've been an avid baseball fan since I was a kid (I'm a grandfather now). My daughter-in-law enjoys watching games with me and asked me for a good source to help her learn the game so she can understand it as well as I do. This series looks PERFECT for that. I'm watching them now myself and admiring your skilled explanations. Masterfully done explanations that assume the viewer knows nothing and make everything crystal clear.
This is the best explanation I've ever heard, thank you. I wondered why general managers always seemed to be really involved with gameplay decisions, turns out they're the coaches!
@@Yo-op3ok hehe I wish~ we had to move away last year and there’s no baseball/softball club for me to join here. Sadly ^^... I really enjoyed my time playing softball! I hope to do it again in a team! Also, lovely username ;3 I’m watching HxH rn hehe
You need to be congratulated for making baseball understandable for a french person. The only hard time i have is when i convert distances in metric system.
One correction: The Designated Hitter (DH) can bat for any defensive player, not just the Pitcher. The MLB (Professional Baseball) requires that the DH bats for the Pitcher. However, nearly all Amateur Leagues allow the DH to bat for any defensive player. This includes all Little League Levels, Middle School/High School Teams, Tour Teams, and College/University Teams.
Thank you, I'm trying out for my 5th year of baseball, except this time it's middle school baseball so I just need this for some extra info on positions. Currently looking for a basic plays video but I can't find one, if anyone can find one send it to me please
If u mean what is their job, their job is to get any batted balls to be thrown into the infield or catch any batter balls. If u mean when do they leave the outfield that is when their half of the inning is over unless their is a special case like a rundown
The Designated Hitter does not play defense, he just hits for the pitcher. There is only a DH in the American League (and most lower leagues like college), not the National League. I have a video on just the DH if you want more info.
A 9 man lineup in set by the manager before the game. Batters bat in this order. When the last man in order bats, it starts over and the first man bats again

What is designated hitter do? I don't really understand..☹ Can someone help me please..

If you play defense. Are u required to play offense too?
If you play out in defense, you could be set out in offense, too.
If you aren't comfortable with playing in offense, just tell your coach and he might not put you in.
Other then the dh which is the other way around “offense only no defense” if you are in the field you must be in the batting line up
nice man, thx
All my friends play sports...now I need to know sports
Watching this at tryouts
what about batting order?
A 9 man lineup in set by the manager before the game. Batters bat in this order. When the last man in order bats, it starts over and the first man bats again
