  • Hello guys! This cabinet is something new for me in woodworking, one of my first products with traditional joints, made of pine wood and finished with polyurethane varnish. Thank you for viewing!
    Sincerely, Oleg!

    Great job on patching the knots! Unless a critic of your work posts a link to their work, pay no attention. I’ve seen a LOT worse quality come out of some high dollar professional shops.

    unfortunately you took the wrong wood for the doors, maybe they wont be flat in a while... but looks very nice!

    • @infeelfurniture
      @infeelfurniture  ปีที่แล้ว

      so what kind of wood should i get?

    • @MrCrymet
      @MrCrymet ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@infeelfurniture i mean not the type of wood is wrong, the direction of the grain is technically not the best. because with this direction of the grain the wood is more likely to move more. (i have had this already with a few pieces of mine)

      @@MrCrymet nonsense! there is so little width in those frame panels there is going be very minimal expansion and contraction. great craftmanship!

    not once in my life have i seen someone cut dovetails with a jigsaw... i qm amazed and terrified at the same time 😮

    • @infeelfurniture
      @infeelfurniture  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Haha, I was waiting for someone to write this, I just did it like this because I only have a crappy saw that doesn't cut well, but a jigsaw with a good saw did a great job!
      Thanks 😊

      Good idea, IMHO. Easier, cheaper to get a high-quality blade, chisel work is the same, layout the same...not for the purest of purists perhaps....but it works.

    Not bad for a hobbyist but would never pass muster as a piece of professional cabinetry. The mortise and tenon joint on the side panels are just nasty.

    • @infeelfurniture
      @infeelfurniture  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It's your opinion! In my opinion pine is one of the best materials to practice on, and since I rarely use traditional joints as you can see on my hand tools, it's a great experience for me! at least I didn't ruin any nice oak planks🤪
      I offered the customer ash, but he insisted on pine because of his interior in a folk style🙃
      Thanks for watching;)

      Your opinion only. Fortunately for this guy, you aren’t the judge of every piece of “professional cabinetry” in the world. I’d say this was very professionally built, especially considering the tools he has. Is it a museum quality piece of exceptional design and quality? Of course not. Professional? Absolutely!
