Honestly, we get our first dog in 5 weeks and my husband and I have never had a dog before so we rely on these videos to give us the best advice! Your videos are the only ones my husband can watch as he finds most of the dog training video people online rather annoying or superficial.

I just got a miniature poodle puppy last week. He’s 8 weeks old and is like a little viper. I have never had a puppy who was constantly biting on me. I will go watch your video on that. I hope he changes as he grows. All my other puppies were easily trained not to do that and most never did

I can’t thank you guys enough for your TH-cam channel and the resources you provide! I’m getting my very first puppy and I have been consuming information like mad. I live in an apartment on the third, I will be here for about a month, two months maximum, after I get her. I have all the resources I believe I’ll need, and I will be building a grass like potty for her. But I’m worried about potty training because the grassy areas around my apartment are occasionally busy with other dogs. She will have her six week vaccinations. Do you have any suggestions on lessening the risk of diseases and still productively potty training in the time before she receives her 12 week vaccines? I apologize if this is not the appropriate place to ask any questions!!!

The reason you’re my favorite is you treat dogs like family and not tools like other obedience channels. One channel said that they wouldn’t let their dog play with their kids if the kids weren’t sitting on the ground. But it had to be laying on its bed and watch like doing puzzles and stuff

my 4 month old puppy will not go past a certain stretch of the road when we take him for walks when leaving the house. My neighbors dog did bark once and wondering if that made him scared. We carry him for that stretch and then put him down and he walks ok after that. Coming home he is fine.
Hi Ian, love your videos, do you have any suggestions for getting our 50lb boxer to stop trying to lay on my wife and I? She always wants to lean/sit on us. We make her give off couch when she does it and if she has a chew toy we move it far enough away that she can't lean on us and have the toy. Thank you so much for your awesome advice.

Yeah . . . Charlie is practically velcro'd to my pant leg, he's so bonded. In training in the house, he comes instantly & happily when I say 'come.' But a small handful of times when he has squirted out the front door when company came, he cruised away & just kept looking back at me & running off when I called come. Of course I was going after him & eventually cornered him & caught him. I didn't abuse him when I caught him. I let him know that he was wrong but I walked him back home calmly. Worried about him getting 'come' command down, no matter what the circumstances. I've previously owned 2 other dogs who never had to be walked on a leash during their lifetimes, & neither ever left my side, no matter where we were.

I'm not sure if there is already a video about it... I am fostering a 3 year old dog who was a stray for the first 2+ years of his life. Is is extremely reactive, sometimes bordering on aggressive towards other dogs on leashes... I haven't experienced this before with any other dog I've had, and I did not receive any guidance from the rescue I'm fostering for. I need help.
I got a German shepherd puppy at the age of 4 weeks and I now realize the it’s to separate a puppy from her mother at this age should I return her?
Oh wow! Holy smokes that's young! Is returning potentially more stressful? Are there still littermates or did they all get sold? The mom? Did your pup come from a breeder or a rescue? It can be done when they're tht young...sometimes it's unavoidable. But there's a LOT of support and work to do! That pup won't even have it's first round of vaccines yet.

How to calm him when daddy gets home from work?
I am doing a puppy training (European style more freestyle) and my dog barked at another dog when chewing on a big chew stick with a bit of growling but not aggressive or attacking, just vocalizing. she said it was ok because my dog was just communicating and that is good. most people say this is guarding and try to stop it right away. what do you think? anyone?
Depends on the severity of it and the context. It is usually fine for a dog to set boundaries with other dogs, as long as it doesn't progress into violence or become a wider area. Hi Ian, how do I train my dog to ignore his triggers and greet other dogs politely instead of jumping on them in a hyper out of control, rude way? At present his hyper lunging at dogs and jumping on people who speak to him is non aggressive but, worryingly, he has growled at 2 dogs in the passing recently.

He as Train on potty training until I found out he shouldn’t be outdoors because he hasn’t had shots for Pablo so now I can only go in his backyard and he loves people but he likes to buy this from blood on me several times how can I get him to stop

Please do not let people pet your dogs during covid time. You dont know which surface your dog has touched with their hair and you dont know if the person touching your dog has covid or not (even if that person is your mom or mother in law) the dog will act as fomite. Also find out a way that works for you and doesnt hurt the dog to sanitize their coat and wash their paws for 20 sec and moisturize after, when you come back home from a walk. Stay safe stay healthy be patient.
