  • In this video Capt. Tom Peele from Bangarang Sportfishing, an 87' Spencer from Wrightsville Beach, NC, shows us the way he rigs a Dink Bait Rod for White Marlin Fishing.
Dink Bait fishing is a popular way to fish Ballyhoo with a Circle Hook to target fish like Mahi, Sailfish, and White Marlin.
We sell a variety of terminal tackle and rigging and even sell the pre-tied Circle Hook Rigs in packs of 5 on our website:

What's the purpose of the header? vs just going straight from bimini to hooked leader?

      Couple of reasons:
      1. 80lb leader will get rubbed up by one fish so you should be switching bite leaders after every bite. This means you don’t have to retie your wind on header every time.
      2. Mono header has more stretch and generally easier to hold on to than tough fluoro.
      3. You can rig multiple baits on multiple bite leaders and swap out quickly when changing baits. This is a method that works great if live bait fishing where you can have 3-4 baits in the tubes/ live bait well and just snap them on and send them out, especially if multiple fish pop up.
