Her great grand aunt's were famous opera singers in the 1800s. I guess it runs in the family. Their family name was Patti and I always wondered if Patti LuPone's name was an homage to them.

Patti is obviously phenomenal, but this performance was definitely below her. Actually really fascinating to see how an incredibly talented and Juliard trained vocalist sounds without rehearsal. Comparing this to her rehearsed version of this is night and day. Here she misses notes' pitch, doesn't blend registers smoothly, doesn't have as precise placement for gentler notes and keeps accidentally changing placement as she changes dynamic levels. Honestly makes me feel a lot better about my own vocals, haha. Turns out she is human.
