- It was particularly interesting to see how several of the companions reacted to the death of the Mirelurk Queen - the "sea monster" that destroyed the Castle in the past.

I run out of ammo for all my guns exempt the flare gun. rest of fight was messy.

I used 5 bottle cap mines she stepped on one it blew up and the other four blew up after she died almost instantly
I just went to sleep for 12h, woke up and she was dead. I was really confused but also relieved

question: by some miracle, every single settlement around the world is safe from mutants, raiders and has clean food, water, etc. forever; does Preston have an existential crisis?
+stinkoman2x6 Flipping heck, that would be awesome if at any time when I talk to him he would say to me "Everything is peaceful General, you can go on and save your son now." Being a person who gets easily distracted at random mission pop ups, Preston is just a nightmare for me. *lol* I've spent some time making the Castle spiffy and building absolutely unnecessary levels to the top that has zero purpose. :)
No. He just talks to one of his friends in the raider gangs to 'arrange' a kidnapping. After all, someone needs to keep the General busy so they don't notice Preston establishing himself as the true power of the Commonwealth.

Hmm, I went in a different direction. I visited each settlement and murdered each settler to see if Preston would still have something to say. Turns out..you can't kill June Warrick. Damn game thought of everything.

Jesus, your way of killing the Mirelurk Queen was one of the craziest things I've seen in a Fallout game. There's really no kill like overkill.
Overkill is really fun, plus I think of it as a little gift for all the hoarding done during the game. :)

The Minutemen are my favourite faction. On my first playthrough, when I did this mission, I ended up running in circles around the castle shooting the Mirelurk Queen with a laser musket.
That's why you always grab the rpg and alot of ammo.

I'm kinda surprised. Seems like everyone of them is ready to cast off their gripes with others, at least temporarily, in order to do what's good (or, maybe, what's right?) even if they are there purely for the pleasure of taking out 'lurks.

I've never been so sad in a video game when I had to kill Danse because he's a synth right before you kill him he says "I've never been so proud of you" I actually stood there for 30 mins pep talking myself to put him down
Having seen a number of these types of companion comment compilation videos, I've come to one important conclusion: Codsworth is unexpectedly badass. So many of his lines just bleed confidence, it's quite entertaining. I'd been avoiding actually recruiting him in favor of Piper and Curie, but I may have to go back to Sanctuary and pick him up. Go Codsworth!
I absolutely agree, Codsworth hands down has the most amusing one liners as a companion.
Cheng Teoh Thanks for the response! I have to say, I especially love the progression of his commentary here. It goes from understandable fear and concern to "TALLY HO, ONCE MORE UNTO THE BREACH TO SLAY SOME MONSTERS!" in a matter of 30 seconds. I feel like Codsworth would be completely comfortable taking on anything, especially if the Sole Survivor is with him. Granted, the Sole Survivor is a walking apocalypse capable of killing nearly anything (at a high enough level), and is protected by the most powerful force in the universe (contrary to popular belief, it is not compound interest but instead the magic of Plot Armor), but still. Codsworth's ability to not give half a damn about any threat is amazing, and mildly terrifying.
That´s General Atomics masterpice for you. I mean, seriously, he´s a robot butler with a snazzy british voice, a buzz-saw AND a flamethrower.
I exhausted all my ammo and stimpaks in a 20 minute fight against the queen and you took it out with a single nuke...I applaud you 👏

Last time I ran this quest, Mirelurk Queen fell rather quickly with a salvo from an Explosive Minigun. Dead in the water.

I beat the mirelurk queen with two missiles, a 10mm pistol, and a lot of molotovs.

I got lucky fighting it, it got glitches into one area and I didn’t have to waste ammo by hitting it with a tire iron

Did you actually take out the Queen with just the Flamer? That's insane even for me. Punching it with the power-fist was as far as I would go to insanity.
Cheng Teoh Yup, though I wouldn’t recommend doing it with a flamer, It’s good for the hatchlings, but not so much for her, I just ran inside the walls of the castle and flamed her whenever she got close enough.
It took about two and a half hours, the half being me celebrating that I didn’t have a heart-attack.
Holy crap that's what I call dedication. I'm surprised one could find that much flamer fuel to actually take down a Queen.

my castle is not destroyed, it only has monsters and eggs in it, its walls are not destroyed.
