- Team USA Ice Dance Team Molly Cesanek and Yehor Yehorov perform their 2021-22 Free Dance, titled "The Passionate Love I Can't Live Without" to a bustling morning in Bryant Park, New York City. Filmed by Jordan Cowan of On Ice Perspectives, in partnership with Bank of America Winter Village in Bryant Park.
Molly and Yehor are coached at the Wheaton Ice Skating Academy. Their Free Dance was choreographed by Kaitlyn Weaver, with music design by Hugo Chouinard, and additional music by Karl Hugo (1:21 - end).

I wish Olympic skating events were presented like this, no commentators, just beautiful music and beautiful skating.
Totally agree, I mean they can break down the skate in slo-mo with commentators after the beautiful presentation, and then they could continue to make comments during the kiss and cry which they do anyway

I absolutely love when routines are filmed and presented in this way. The music, the camera angles, the sound of the blades on the ice just enhance the performance to a new level. Breathtaking
I thought the filming of Vand M at the Olympics was awesome. Just as good as this. Moir and Tessa were more passionate. They melted the ice with their "close" moves.

Agreed...the closeness that really uncovers the beauty of the routine, the sound of the skates on the ice, the up close look at the way the skaters use their emotion within the program...it's the best way to film it. The way its filmed catches so much more then you can see watching an event on TV.

This is absolutely phenomenal. Extremely emotional and also gorgeously in sync. Even her choice of costume is excellent. Their lifts and choreo are so intimate and creative. I particularly like the lift sequence at the beginning and the spin where he jumps. I don't know if they're a 'real' couple but they know exactly how to express the romance of the piece and they truly look like they're enjoying themselves out there.

The art of filming this is a whole new Awards category as you transport the viewer into the dance. Nobody does it better!

But I wonder how do they do with music, do they bring a speaker and why is there absolutely nobody until almost the very end?
@@archerviajero8719 I would guess that they book the rink time and it is very early morning at barely daybreak, hence few people are there. I also am guessing that there is music/speakers at the rink and someone at the rink is on site to run it but if not some audio equipment is supplied themselves as I can't imagine they do this 'A Cappella' for lack of a better word. Either way, for purposes of these videos, Jordan Cowan probably does the audio/visual mix in studio to get the quality this good.
Perhaps Jordan will pop in and respond more accurately to your questions.
Jordan is the cameraman and producer of these videos and this one is in sponsorship with Bank Of America. These videos cost money to make happen but Jordan brings them to us looking like a ballet. He has to learn the skate choreography himself in order to skate with and film the performance. You don't have to see all the hard work that goes into it by all. The performance is brought to you wherever you are to transport your mind and soul for a few minutes of bliss.

That was probably the best non-clinical display of ice dancing outside of Oona and Gage Brown that I have seen. It actually looked like they were in love unlike all the others that are purely clinical. Well done you two.

He has a gracefulness I haven’t seen in a male figure skater before.
That intro and the twizzle sequence is just chef's kiss. As a dancer it was really nice to feel like the were really Dancing not just connecting steps to lifts. Idk about the voice at the end though. Kinda scared me lol
I'm not interested in romantic stuff usually, but this one made my eyes teary
watch again 2 months later, really this is one of the most beautiful performances I've ever seen.

I'm really glad we're finally moving beyond the nearly ubiquitous classical music score. Of course the music is beautiful, but there's a whole world of beautiful music outside of Europe.
This channel, the way Jordan films the skaters, so close and immersive...being able to hear the skates gliding across the ice, it’s my new favorite thing. I never even knew how much I was missing! I feel it adds so much emotion to the program. And this one specifically, the music was everything! I actually felt I could cry. Gorgeous choreography. Amazing artists.

I've been following these for a while now and it still amazes me that Jorden doesn't get hit by these skaters. I've often wondered if he's seen their routine before he actually films it...if not how in the hell does he stay out of the way...?? I know he's a former pro skater as well, but they are going everywhere and how he stays out of the way is even more amazing.

Probably one of the most beautiful routines I’ve ever seen. I find myself rewatching this video time after time and creating the story of this relationship as it grows; the hard times and the good times. Absolutely beautiful live illustration of what a romance looks like over time.
I wish they would build an ice rink in Boston , the weather makes it tough , maybe but it has to be at least as cold as NYC. I was waiting for the small group of people to applaud !

Absolutely stunning and breathtaking. Lots of feels with this performance!
At least from the acknowledged small amount I’ve seen, often in figure skating, especially competitive skating, the choreography favors difficulty over beauty, but this skate made me so happy because it was gorgeous and emotional and compelling, and it was clearly a VERY difficult skate without feeling like the choreographer was like,”well, we wanna be impressive, so let’s throw in some triple axles and toe loops”. That’s why I love skaters like Guillaume Cizeron and Gabriella Papadakis and Gage and Oona Brown, and I could go on…. Long story short, they value both beauty and difficulty and weave them together wait for it- beautifully.

Yes fantastic! Only Ice dance critique would be to remember to stare In Each other’s eyes! When in twizzles (or otherwise physically not possible) of course difficult, but to Dance to Obsessive Love one Must Feel the Intense Facial Connection. Unlike Couples Skating in this Sport to be Elite one must Be Emo 🖤. Wish them the Very Best!
