i love the slightest detail the developers put in the game of when you come out of the water your footsteps are wet and squeaky and slowly go back to normal steps.
To make it more realistic they should have you just being able to fart like this really just rip ass. like after I get a 20 piece from White Castle and I just blow it out he need to put those kind of physics in the game. And then you start coughing cuz you're like. What the hell did I just eat? I once had some bacon fries I farted so hard. I thought I was going to shoot my pants off. That's an impact on. What a day.
@@wheresmyluv What I was saying was you know when you get that 20 piece from White Castle and you're just blowing out the toilet. They should put those kind of physics in the game like I should just be able to blowout the toilet if there was a toilet in the game.
@@Eric-jk3oi I feel you brother. So few games let you fart and even fewer (if any?) have pooping mechanics. They put lots of effort into making realistic games, but you will often see toilets with no way to use them. How realistic is that? It just doesn't make sense especially since it wouldn't take much work to implement. What would be even cooler is if they took it to the next level. Imagine (using your 20 white castles scenario) you drop a big one with a weight of, say, ~4 Courics. You try to flush, but uh oh! It won't go down! Now you have to try to find a poop knife, or at least a plunger or a stick, and cut/mash it down to size so that it will flush. Also it would be nice to have the option to leave an upper-decker if you so desire. Then when you flush the toilet, of course, the bowl fills with brown water. There are so many possibilities and we haven't even talked about peeing yet! Pee in toilets, pools, walls, floors, NPCs, etc. If you pee in a toilet but don't flush it for a while, the toilet bowl begins taking on a yellow tinge. If you pee on the floor and don't clean it up, the floor makes a sticky sound when walking through it. I could go on and on.
The fact that there's no blood or body parts everywhere as you progress further surrounded by pristine white shiny tiles makes it even more creepy kinda like a insane asylum look.
I think the protagonist is dead and the pools environment is kinda hell. Otherwise he would not have survived the big drop at the end of the first chapter.
Even the slightest sound in such a silent space (the first splash stepping into the water) feels like a neon sign pointing you out. Makes one feel watched
These games should have an option to speak in realtime into the mic and generate an appropriately echoed sound based on your given location. This is the first video of yours I’ve ever watched but just wanted to say I totally agree that the cam is great without light because it’s actually so refreshing not having a super bright highly lit person on screen
I think this was a literal trip through a person’s mind/ brain… what greater personification of a liminal space than your mind? You dream there, think there, remember there, forget there, learn there, and so much more. From one moment to the next we can change, grow, and evolve. We can make of our mind a palace, a back room, a shack, or even a junk shop. Most of us have an amalgamation of all those things inside of us which makes our brains a truly liminal space.
“Hypercomfortable games” would be my name for it. What can make it unsettling at times is that as a person you are adjusted to a certain amount of chaos around you. Your environment is so comfortable in these games your mind tells you something must be off.
Wish people would stop wishing these games to have more scary elements. I have serious anxiety issues and the liminal space games are the only thing I've found that really relax me and let me escape for awhile.
I’ve been watching just 40 minutes so far and I have chills and goosebumps, making me dizzy though It’s marvelous how the developers were able to take something based from the ideal in our minds of images brought to this level interface is simply incredible! Hopefully more games like this will be added, this is very surreal to see!
This is sort of how some of my dreams feel… endless in weird indoor spaces. It feels eerie, but rarely if ever is there an *actual* threat like a monster or a bad person. Even when I’m with people in my dreams, a good amount of my dreams I still feel alone. Probably because I technically am. This is really satisfying to watch
this triggered my thalassophobia (fear of deep water) and fear of the unknown in so many ways yet could not stop watching, will definitely try (with company) amazing concept and graphics, love these types of odd games (like transference for instance) really enjoyed the video p.s. its like so many scenes are taken straight out of my uneasy dreams and nightmares
These graphics are amazing. I usually hate commentary on games but yours is amazing yw only one I’ve heard that actually adds to the experience, no stupid fake whimpering or jokes or sidebars, game has your full concentration and you are voicing what we are all thinking. Great job! When the huge channels do commentary it’s like they are entertaining 6 year olds
Hey Hollow thanks for posting so consistently. I’m usually a silent viewer but I’m going through a really hard time right now and your videos are a great distraction and make me feel better for a bit. Keep up the good work and have a great weekend!

@creola2910 for some reason I imagine that it's a constant 22-23C throughout the entire place, even the water. I love that we all get different vibes from this sort of place
I have this weird phobia of swimming pools and have had countless nightmares of being stuck in a pool in the dark. Black tiles and the thought of giant holes in swimming pools are especially terrifying for me. The graphics on this game are insane! The part where you’re walking a narrow plank over a giant black hole with lights going down had my heart thumping in my chest - I’m not even scared of heights! I’ve never heard of the term “liminal spaces”, but I have heard of the “back rooms”, so this was a brand new experience for me. I stayed up way too late watching this in one sitting haha thank you sir, I just subbed ❤
your face being lit by the screen actually makes the video so much more immersive. feels like you're really there in the environment with dynamic ambient light.
on the note of indoor pools. We do here in Iceland have public indoor pools, kinda big on the public pool idea and so I grew up going to indoor pools, saunas, hot tubs, steam baths, infrared saunas, slides, sea water pools and other kinds of watery fun for nearly free. It shocks me that you haven't been to an indoor pool
A while ago I discovered the back rooms on TH-cam and I have to say it was the first time that I felt truly disturbed. For me personally that would be hell. Alone, limited stimulation, quiet, can't get outside with nature trees fresh air ect. 😬
Besides the various eerie things scattered about each level, it honestly seems like a very relaxing game. With that said, if I was in a place like that, I'd probably find one of those inner tubes, then find a somewhat dark and relaxing spot, preferably in one of the corners of a room, lay in the inner tube and just take a nap. Goodnight everyone. 💤💤
I just wanted to say that I have never in my life watched a person play video games. I've never been a video game person except like old school Sega (I'm 40). But as an autistic, the Pools game with the liminal spaces felt like something that would be a nice sensory experience for me. Your video was the first to come up on TH-cam when I searched it. Not only was this video so good, but I love your commentary. Now I am hooked on your channel and watching you play video games. I work from home and at the end of the day, my 5 year old daughter and I lay in bed and watch your videos together. I know this sounds super lame or whatever but thank you for making your videos. They are relaxing and your reactions make us laugh.
The things I loved about liminal spaces like the backrooms when they were FIRST a thing is that they were seemingly infinite, stretching for miles beyond end with halls, stairs, and doorways leading to nowhere, structures that seem to have meaning for their existence yet not being able to find a meaning for their creation or reason for existing, almost as if someone or something made it all, yet a feeling that it has never been touched before, seeming to just exist without a creator or reason. Another thing I loved about them was them being completely and utterly empty, void of all life but you, yet there was a feeling that you "Might" not be alone, a strange eerie feeling that follows you that something may be following you, driving you to go crazy and lose yourself and your sanity. I thought this concept was so interesting and I loved it so much, but then people just kinda ruined it, adding creatures, monsters, and "levels". These things being added defeated the purpose of a liminal space such as the backrooms, what was once meant to be empty, void of life, eerie, meaningless yet an uneasy feeling that there was meaning beyond your comprehension, has now been turned into a generic scary monster game with levels, monsters that chase you, and has meaning where there shouldn't be.
I like this so much that I put up with his bad decisions when he games 😂. He looked at the map and didn’t know it was a map. He also kept saying that the game said that no one was there, but the game literally never says that. That’s how I know he’s a good person because he can’t game, but I love watching him.
@@gsgdavainetg903it literally never said no one was there. It only specified that there were no monsters chasing you and no jump scares. Not once did it mention that people would be there. Yes, I watched intro, I’ve watched it multiple time now to reassure myself.
Beside the terrifying purpose, this game is so captivating, the house section with windows and clouds in top had some Magritte surrealism-painting looking (in Belgium, we already had some "creepy" artists back in 19th heh), and the museum part makes me think the game like a piece of art itself. I'm glad you evocated the great Truman Show movie I suggest to everyone when we talk about Jim Carrey career and TV show. Yes, it gets definitively the chlorine taste of the next-gen "backroom" games. Wow man... this game could be explored several times, it's like there are so many unexplored sections behind you. Maybe a cafeteria section you find typically in pools (at least here in Europe), is a missing graphical theme from my own experience in pools. I wish the dev continues in that way in other topics (or not). And yeah, with AI, actually, this kind of game has a great avenir, but human-directed makes the design really genius, even if AI could also help to do this... I'm just imagining Liminal Spaces where each time you start a new game, you renew the experience with a totally new world opening to you... but yeah, it would break the good first & unique experience you had here. Whatever, what a great experience we did here, so refreshing, heh.
Yeah man your personality is what really makes your content amazing. The games are just a plus. Being able to see your emotions is probably the best part
I don’t watch gaming videos let alone play games. so I don’t know how I ended up here, but I watched the whole video! I loved your commentary a lot it was very fun to watch/listen to you. Thank you sir have a good day
This is the first video I’ve seen of yours, so I have no frame of reference, but the look with no light on your face is relaxing. I got a very warm, cozy vibe from it 🙂
I seriously wish there were more moments like this in the game, or like he said, just sounds of footsteps or something, nothing crazy. Wouldve added so much and made the game so much better imo.
Another good recommendation thanks! The developers did a great job playing on primeval fears like having the water around the waist at the same time as being trapped in dark places.
I thought I was going to watch just a little bit but ended up watching the whole video ahhaha! Loved it. I like the feeling that liminal spaces give. It’s indescriptible. Thx for the video!
I’m not even a gamer and never watch other people game but I’ve always been fascinated with the many hyper realistic architecture photos I’ve save on Pinterest especially ones with crazy pools so I was intrigued a from the start. Once you watch a few minutes of this, you want to find out what’s around the corner or what the next level looks like. I also think the narration helped me feel safe and like we were exploring this endlessly creepy and hopeless world together 😮💨 Amazing stuff
Normally I don't watch these kinds of videos but I find places like the backrooms/liminal spaces so interesting. It's crazy how I sat and watched the whole thing. It was honestly such a fun journey. When I got up to walk I instantly got this weird feeling I didn't belong and was walking in a maze. My brain got confused for a second. I was like HOLYYY, wouldn't it be crazy if real life was trippy like that 😄
They should do this with procedural map generation; it would be like an infinite space. And you could have mazes and puzzles interspersed throughout. A good couple of stories from other people who got lost where you find journals etc. And maybe a way of escaping at the end.
Wait , no one talked about this : in 26:06 there were only two ducks in yellow, then when he got close starting from 26:10 it seemed like another shadowy duck was moving behind the yellow duck, or am I imaginning things ? 😂
Man as I'm watching still, the face camera really does work almost better in my opinion. As someone else said it looks cozy as well. Your videos are always fantastic though 💜
So all of those “Chairs” you seen throughout are actually Intractable like the chairs in front of the Lamb. I am positive they are for an ambiance effect to help heighten the feel of the ambiance!
Yoooo this is gonna be my new drug! Lol, this is like a DREAM COME TRUE. I need chill ambient music in the background though, but that's just me. Thanks for showing this content and thanks to the creator. And yeah, your face cam looks great, no problem at all with it.
This looks exactly like a dream i had about a museum. It got weird though. There were convicts in jump suits jumping through an invisible portal in one spot on the floor. Then a giant goat devil thing with a purple plasma mouth rose up and started releasing giant square shaped black floating worms through the hallway. I couldn't run because i was wearing socks and slipping everywhere. When i figured out i was in a dream, i liked at my hands and they started morphing all over the place. Same glossy white square tile and everything.
I don't play video games and I certainly don't watch people play video games but for some reason I just sat through all hour and a half of that. That was so cool.
Yo Hollow I definitely understand where you coming from it's mainly coming from the lightning that you be around every day consistently the light actually throws off a slight amount of radiation after long-term use it triggers an invisible migraine the light actually looks good bro we need you out here best game streamer I know

Love the new lighting!! So cozy, I hate videos that are super bright. It hurts my eyes and is too much contrast to dark mode setting! I hope you feel better and thank you for uploading/hardwork!
It's fascinating how much we reveal psychologically without even realizing it. When people find themselves isolated, they often seek out anything that resembles life, craving stimulation or a simple sign of movement-anything to break the silence. That’s what makes this game so unsettling... I absolutely love it!
I have too much anxiety for this game. I could never go down that suspended slide for fear that the change would break, the slide would drop in the water, and suddenly I would have to swim my way down the rest of the way. Hello panic, my old friend.
Quality of the face cam is great without the light! Please don’t switch to no face cam, it’s crazy the drastic difference it makes!

I love the way the cam is now, it’s chill and fits the “dark” vibe of the channel.
this triggered my thalassophobia (fear of deep water) and fear of the unknown in so many ways yet could not stop watching, will definitely try (with company) amazing concept and graphics, love these types of odd games (like transference for instance) really enjoyed the video
p.s. its like so many scenes are taken straight out of my uneasy dreams and nightmares
Omgg same I've got thalassophobia too and this video truly was a nightmare
Dude the face cam looks better than ever, it's cozy and warm and leaves the focus for the game. We don't need those harsh bright lights ❤
I found Hollow when I was going through a patch of bad time, and he helped me get to the other side.
I hope the pain lessens soon, I hope every day things get a little bit better for you, man.
Hang in there, hope everything will get better for you, sometimes all we can do is take it day by day.
don’t give up!! you got this and even though i’m a stranger, it’ll all get better 💗 keep up the hope girly!!
every response mentions hope, bots?
@@gyapaganda I'm not a bot, I genuinely hope things get better for her.
Imagine how it smells in there …. Straight chlorine
Sterile
Forget the smell, imagine how COLD it is in there lol
@creola2910 for some reason I imagine that it's a constant 22-23C throughout the entire place, even the water. I love that we all get different vibes from this sort of place
14:00 the diving board fall had my stomach falling out of my body. Volume turned up too.. that was too real!
I stayed up way too late watching this in one sitting haha thank you sir, I just subbed ❤
your face being lit by the screen actually makes the video so much more immersive. feels like you're really there in the environment with dynamic ambient light.
your camera video quality is 100/100 you voice is perfect . don't change anything .
Light off is great actually. Adds a certain coziness.
Having no light is a win win tbh. You’re still using face cam, but without straining your eyes and also making the games more immersive for you
on the note of indoor pools.
💤💤
I like this kind of game, i mean, we literally do nothing, but the quiet enviroment send me chills
Thats sweet
Dude I'm mesmerized by the visuals of this game. So stunning I really want to be there. Could watch hours more of you playing it. So immersive 🤯👌😭❤
I like this so much that I put up with his bad decisions when he games 😂. He looked at the map and didn’t know it was a map. He also kept saying that the game said that no one was there, but the game literally never says that. That’s how I know he’s a good person because he can’t game, but I love watching him.
Were u not watching the intro? the game did say that
@@gsgdavainetg903it literally never said no one was there. It only specified that there were no monsters chasing you and no jump scares. Not once did it mention that people would be there. Yes, I watched intro, I’ve watched it multiple time now to reassure myself.
@@gsgdavainetg903attention to detail is rare, so I hope you don’t feel insulted. It’s not common to notice small details. I’m just glad I can.
Yeah, not everyone can game well, but most importantly is people enjoy playing
@@Fried_Chimken exactly my point. He’s not the best gamer, but i genuinely enjoy watching him game.
“You can move the rubber ducky? I’m takin it wit me..” 🤣
Beside the terrifying purpose, this game is so captivating, the house section with windows and clouds in top had some Magritte surrealism-painting looking (in Belgium, we already had some "creepy" artists back in 19th heh), and the museum part makes me think the game like a piece of art itself.
26:08 could be a reflection bug but kinda feels like some entity’s hiding behind that duck and then walking around it
I saw that too, made me jump out of my pants for a hot second
oh yes ! damn
Seems like an entity if u noticed at the end as he moves slower it moves the same speed
I love your videos, no ads, not long ass intros, you just jump straight into the games! 🕹
You can tell He's traumatized from all the horror games. He makes faces and checks behind him every time he leaves a sketchy area!! 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah man your personality is what really makes your content amazing. The games are just a plus. Being able to see your emotions is probably the best part
Honestly the light off is nice. It’s subtle warm and still very good quality. Thanks for another great video btw.
I got a very warm, cozy vibe from it 🙂
11:36 well it's official you're definitely not ALONE!!
I seriously wish there were more moments like this in the game, or like he said, just sounds of footsteps or something, nothing crazy. Wouldve added so much and made the game so much better imo.
I love that this game has a squishy noise and wet footprints for when you are walking after getting out of the water.
Another good recommendation thanks! The developers did a great job playing on primeval fears like having the water around the waist at the same time as being trapped in dark places.
imagine playing this game in virtual reality.. it would be amazing
I love these types of games as well! Reminds me of the Myst / Riven series with fewer puzzles.
The half light looks great!
I like the look of the video this way. It makes you look like your just chilled out playing the game and having a natural reaction to it. You Kno
the lighting is okay, hollow! stay healthy.. dont neglect your health for us ❤ we will still see u 😊
I’m not afraid of the dark or of deep water, but my biggest fear is being alone. So this game set me off from the start
I was like HOLYYY, wouldn't it be crazy if real life was trippy like that 😄
Quality is just fine bro.
This channel helps me through some hard days. Thank you!
One thing I really want to do though is TO DIVE and swim through the water instead of walking in them. See how it looks underwater too!
Idk if it’s a duck but I saw what you meant
I seen it
"I remember a few months back, actually a couple years ago" hahaha
Man as I'm watching still, the face camera really does work almost better in my opinion. As someone else said it looks cozy as well. Your videos are always fantastic though 💜
So all of those “Chairs” you seen throughout are actually Intractable like the chairs in front of the Lamb. I am positive they are for an ambiance effect to help heighten the feel of the ambiance!
The lighting seemed really chill but excellent quality no issues man keep at it! Thanks for all you do
The low light looks great and gives it a whole new mood. Keep the light off. We can see you just fine!!!!!!
This is my favorite video on your channel. I love liminal spaces. This whole game was so awesome. ❤
First time watching you, I first noticed the lighting and find the vibe very cozy. You’ve earned a subscriber for your honesty and video quality.
❤
I want to see a reality show of people stuck here for a month
The beginning gave me OG Tomb Raider vibes. Also, the face cam is good, I like to see who's talking and reacting, personally.
Yoooo this is gonna be my new drug! Lol, this is like a DREAM COME TRUE. I need chill ambient music in the background though, but that's just me. Thanks for showing this content and thanks to the creator. And yeah, your face cam looks great, no problem at all with it.
don't worry about the lighting, we can see you perfectly! prioritize your comfort first and foremost
Am I insane because this seems really calming to be in
YES!! I have been waiting for someone to go to the right at the very beginning. Thank you for going that way
I can smell the chlorine through my screen.
They need this in VR
I don't play video games and I certainly don't watch people play video games but for some reason I just sat through all hour and a half of that. That was so cool.
I love how you’re like “okay I think it’s this way” and I’m sitting here thinking how tf did he know that 😂
I love love the low lighting! It’s very calm and more fitting
These are the best, most realistic graphics that I’ve seen on a video game so far. 💯
Yo Hollow I definitely understand where you coming from it's mainly coming from the lightning that you be around every day consistently the light actually throws off a slight amount of radiation after long-term use it triggers an invisible migraine the light actually looks good bro we need you out here best game streamer I know
Especially with the lights being dim oh snap he changing up the lights being dim actually looks good bro salute continue gaming we need the expressions
