    I log most of my time with the carenado pc12 and the TBM. Great planes but the floght models are very forgiving.
    At first I struggled with the Kodiak and shelved it for a bit... but discovered the bad habits I'd developed were why I struggled with the Kodiak.
    Learning proper throttle control, trim, using flaps for drag, etc made all the difference in properly flying this plane.

    I just picked up this plane today (12/31/2021) and it IS the best aircraft in the sim right now. I have just about every addon for aircraft at this point and this is the best or at least shares the top spot with the DC-6. Makes the perfect aircraft to really dive deep into Skypark. Great vid and well done!

I just bought the Kodiak for MSFS and realize this is a special airplane and is made for real pilots. But there’s a lot of people like me willing to learn and if you make a video for dummies I believe it’s going to be a success. Thank you for your video.

    The engine bypass is an inertial separator. It does effect engine performance. You use it on unimproved landing strips and at low altitudes to protect the turbine engine from sucking in debris (stones, sticks, birds, etc...),

    • @TheClumsyGeekGaming
      @TheClumsyGeekGaming  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I had a feeling it did affect engine performance, but significantly less than how the inertial separator affected the tbm. The tbm produced significantly less torque when it was on, but this one seems mostly the same. Maybe just a few knots faster without the bypass?

    1.30 if only. It may have all the items, though a couple of items have placeholder text, but it’s very broken in the Evaluation mode, many missing cameras, many missing highlights, and a lot of items where it doesn’t recognise the state of the item. • @Aleksandar6ix

    Engine inlet bypass should be turned off after above 3000'. Before you do so, reduce your torque a bit....when inlet bypass closes off, your torque will rise and you will have better torque to ITT performance (more power).

    • @TheClumsyGeekGaming
      @TheClumsyGeekGaming  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, makes sense. When I checked, torque rises around 80 ft-lbs after switching back the engine inlet to normal. I'll probably keep it on above 3000 only if passing through clouds.

      I have not had many ILS approaches on this plane yet as I often land in small airstrips, but that problem might be more on the navdata rather than the plane. I highly recommend getting a navigraph subscription for more complete and accurate navdata in the sim.

    Inertial sep should always be open on takeoff because the likelihood of ingesting debris or a bird is high. I wonder why the checklist says “As Required “…

    • @TheClumsyGeekGaming
      @TheClumsyGeekGaming  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it depends on the plane. On the tbm it always is, but on the Kodiak from what I read in the POH it's only required when it's cold enough (less than 4 deg Celsius iirc) or there is risk of FOD (rocks, birds, moisture in the vicinity). I guess for "clean enough" airports you can leave engine inlet at normal.

    • @TheClumsyGeekGaming
      @TheClumsyGeekGaming  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!
      Yaw damper you use after takeoff and turn off before landing. It helps lessen the adverse yaw when turning, etc. Tbh I don't notice it doing much atm, though.
      TAWS is terrain avoidance warning system. It's the lady nagging you when you get close to terrain. In some instances you know you have to get close to land, so there is a TAWS inhibit button to purposely turn off the warnings (less nagging lol).
      LVL button supposedly makes the plane level (0 degree bank) which is useful in situations where you lose spatial awareness. However, I heard it's not working atm due to a conflict with g1000 nxi.

    Instead of constantly adjusting the rudder trim, why don't you turn the yaw damper on?

    • @TheClumsyGeekGaming
      @TheClumsyGeekGaming  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah yes, but that actually dampens only the adverse yaw when banking left/right. It does not account for the left turning tendencies that require you to counteract using rudder trim. Net, both yaw damper and rudder trim are needed for the smoothest and safest flight.

    You know, in my opinion you do a MUCH better job at showcasing a new plane on your channel than Q8 Pilot does. Your videos aren't excessively long, you have bookmarks for all the important aspects, and unlike Q8 you actually prepare for the video such that you look more competent than he does when operating an aircraft. I doubt I'll ever see you trying to force down a Cessna 172 at 90 knots because you're so in a rush to finish an already too-long video! (yeah, he did that LOL).
