Personally I enjoy this fragrance really much and it was kinda love at first smell. Had to have it. Marc, can you recommend some good Oud fragrances? Thanks
Overhyped? definitely. Best oud? not for me as you said. Addictive? yes, cant stop smelling it. Compliment monster? on me yes. I really like it and it's one of my favorite fragrances, but even though I don't use it often. I understand the similarity to BR540 but I find them very different. Thanks for the video Marc!
Totally agree with you Marc. I managed to get my hands on a bottle for around $170 and at that price it's a 10/10 for me. The performance is beast mode off my skin. Very pleasant and wearable yet mysterious fragrance. Doesn't have an 'organic' oud note but it has that rich profile that is often linked to oud. Albeit it's very refined and clean here, stripped off of any potential funkiness whatsoever. Suffice to say the fragrance is not built around oud but more like a very ethereal, sensual, ever so slightly smokey and sweet oud note was thrown into an already complete (yet uninspiring) composition to just further elevate it and to lend just enough of its own uniqueness to make it intriguing. This oudy vibe is ever present in the scent but never a focal point. I think that the name actually does a disservice to the fragrance. Pretending to be something it's not, even though what it actually is is not all that bad, a solid semi-oriental woody scent. If it was named more accurately, I imagine it wouldn't be so overhyped and also perhaps if it went for a lower price, it would be near impossible to hate.
Very honest review. I agree with everything said here. A solid 8 in a beautiful bottle. If it was in a plain glass bottle I doubt it would get the attention it has. Like you said. Bravo on their marketing team.
Oud For Greatness is amazing but I don’t get a lot of the Oud. There is more Oud in Oud Ispahan by Maison Dior in my opinion! Your reviews are always on point 🔥thank you for sharing 💛
Ofg would be perfect if they changed nutmeg for cardamom. I hate cardamom with citrus, and vanilla. Any recommendation for ofg with cardamom instead of nutmeg?
Can you do a review sometime on Oud for Glory ? or do a side by side comparison of Oud for Glory vs Oud for greatness ? would be interesting to see your take on it ^_^
I agree with you with the cedar instead of the oud. It's a crowd pleaser but lacks the depth and evolution you would expect for a scent this expensive. It reminds me of Amyris pour homme by MFK in the sense that the complexity is designer-esque but the ingredients used are not as screechy as a designer.
Got it at a really good discount. Doesn't bother me that it's more wood than Oud honestly. I agree overall about the hype but I really do like this stuff.
Overhyped? Hell no . I got this as a sample with Hacivat & this is my 6th review I’ve watched while I’m waiting for my 3 ounce bottle to get here. I keep smelling the sample. Don’t know what you guys are smoking in the comments but think for yourself & stop following the crowd. I love this more than Layton!
The one reviewer that calls a spade a spade and says it as it is. I wasn't too impressed by the similar scents I've smelled like Oud for Greatness, so I was pretty sure I wouldn't be blown away with the original either. I haven't clicked on a video so fast as here because I KNEW YOU would at least tell the truth about this. Good video, man. Very good video. In Robes we trust. :)
Not a fan of the brand either but I quite like Side Effect. Tobacco, cinnamon and rum. A combo that’s not really unique but nonetheless enjoyable. Well blended and performs well.
The bottle is damn cool. I get great performance with this one. I don't own it, I have a decant of it. Would I like it, for that bottle , but the price ? So if I can get a deal , from a reputable source , sure . If not , well I have enough other awesome bottles .
I totally agree with you, overhyped x 10 .. can´t sniff this one, oud there is almost none there and that saffron stinky like in Kalan makes it for me unwearable. Good review, brah!
I enjoy this one , it's a lovely wear but I don't wear it thinking I'm getting a proper oud scent. I do think it's more expensive than it should be so I wouldn't and didn't pay retail for it 🍀
Ahhh, man! I wish you would have gotten a full bottle of Lattafa Oud for Glory instead of this. Would have saved you some money. For a fraction of the price. And we would like your take on that, rather!
Been testing it for a month, got a full bottle, kinda boring now but silage and longevity worth the money.but after trying FM the moons and the night this is kinda a kindergarten oud.
Bought a decant of this as well as it was the most hyped and I had never tried this house because I didn't expect much. And.. yeah.. I have not felt inspired to even give it a second wearing. Going to explore more Frederic Malle instead! That house is so fantastic and I love exploring their perfumes.
Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of this one. In my opinion Side Effect was a much better release from them. I even like Rehab, and Psychedelic Love More as well! It's all just personal preference, as always.
Like before watch and i have not try this one yat and i been waiting for your thought on this one to see if the hype is real. I trust your nose. Now i go back to watch the video 🙃🙃
Overall, a fair test drive, but you did kinda come into it with some bias tbh, sort of a resistance to the hype before you even sniffed it. Only human, I guess. Not a OFG fanboy myself, although I think it is quite nice. There is a mystery to it that's special, and I think on a woman it would be hot af. Agree that it may not satisfy the hardcore oud purists out there.
I tried and tried and tried to like this one, but I just can't. The sillage really does give me middle eastern vibes - that part is ok - but I'm just not down with the scent on me. Like a murky brown crystal. Chemical overload.
A 10mil decant is all I need of this one. I’m not a big fan of Initio . They use way too much aroma chemicals and almost no naturals. A good perfumer knows how to balance the two to create a beautiful work of art in perfumery.
Agree, it’s ok but nowhere near worth the hype or pricing. I got Oud for Glory the cheapie version just out of curiosity and it does a decent job as a more masc br540 that greatness goes for too.
Haha that is why i wait for your honest review. I was thinking if it was real oud in this one or not , i mean for the price they are asking for ,it must be the real thing in it and a lot of it but yeahhh like many other new nishe brands overprice and not what the name tells you. That is sad. But i agree with you by the notes i think i gonna like this one it sounds very nice but will never buy it for that price and the name of fragrance is 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣😂😂😂😂😂
The reason I don't own an initio is because of all the hype. The name doesn't bother me like most. I'm sure it's decent but as a serial blind buyer, they are pricey little bastards.
This is a great scent, layers well with Atomic Rose. Both are overpriced. Over-hyped for sure. If this wasn't $375 but $225-$250, it would be much more likeable!
I really don't get the hype behind this brand. I've sampled their big 3 (Oud for Greatness, Side Effect and Rehab) as well as Blessed Baraka. The way the saffron was used in Oud for Greatness bothered the hell out of me. Side Effect was flat for me, Kilian's Back to Black does that 8 to 10 times better. Rehab is not worth the price tag. Blessed Baraka, quality ingredients, 0 soul. It's like trying to paint by numbers for a niche wow but there's no feel to it.
Thanks for another honest review! 🙏🏼
My pleasure!!
Yes, yes, yes: this needs to be said more often. Too many TH-camrs are not reviewers, they are carnival barkers.
Agreed my friend
Personally I enjoy this fragrance really much and it was kinda love at first smell. Had to have it. Marc, can you recommend some good Oud fragrances? Thanks

What Oud fragrance would you recommend?
People were definitely getting free bottles of this stuff. I remember when Jeremy had it in his thumbnail. That's when I knew

Good work! 👏
Thanks for honest review!
Respect!
Always!
I like when Marc walks into the room, upsets flipping the apple cart with apples flying all through the air and rolling on the ground....lol
Someone's gotta flip it.
Thank you for posting this helpful video
NO problem!
Very honest review. I agree with everything said here. A solid 8 in a beautiful bottle. If it was in a plain glass bottle I doubt it would get the attention it has. Like you said. Bravo on their marketing team.

I did not get a lot of Oud either it was just ok
Oud Ispahan is beautiful and rich, thanks for mentioning it.
Thank you 😊 for stopping by and commenting. Always nice to see a fellow reviewer in the comments.
Ofg would be perfect if they changed nutmeg for cardamom. I hate cardamom with citrus, and vanilla. Any recommendation for ofg with cardamom instead of nutmeg?
can't think of anything at the moment.
I do like Rehab from them. Nicely blended, not ground breaking release either
Can you do a review sometime on Oud for Glory ? or do a side by side comparison of Oud for Glory vs Oud for greatness ? would be interesting to see your take on it ^_^
Appreciate the honest opening comments, good to be aware 👍
Thanks for this review Robes. I will still sample this but it is not high priority for me right now.
And now Layton & Layton Exclusif next 😄✌🔥

I'm with you... I get little oud. Red and sweet. Its nice but not ground breaking for me. Thanks Mark
I have a sample of Oud for Glory (a clone of the original) and it was simple but amazing. Gives a very luxurious feel
Helpful video man! What would you say is your best everyday aftershave recommendation?
Got it at a really good discount. Doesn't bother me that it's more wood than Oud honestly. I agree overall about the hype but I really do like this stuff.

Who was the perfumer for this fragrance?
got a sample for testing , like it and now plans are on for a full bottle, OFG. in gooooooood on my skin. thanks
Best reviewer in the game
I enjoy this one, nice cloud, compliments but too expensive
The bottle is damn cool. I get great performance with this one.

Oud for Greatness imho is most definitely🔥🔥 Shout Outs, Robes08💪💪💪💪"THUMBS UP"🥊🔔
I sincerely like Navitus Absolutio the best in the OFG dna category. But I don’t wear this scent dna, although I think it does smell great in the air.
Sup Bruh, enjoyed, good to hear from you
Mark, we are waiting for CDG black take !!!
I enjoy this one , it's a lovely wear but I don't wear it thinking I'm getting a proper oud scent. I do think it's more expensive than it should be so I wouldn't and didn't pay retail for it 🍀
I love oud wood and br540, so I'm hoping I like oud for greatness. Just did another blind buy. Lol
Ahhh, man! I wish you would have gotten a full bottle of Lattafa Oud for Glory instead of this. Would have saved you some money. For a fraction of the price. And we would like your take on that, rather!
Very best and intense all day
Oud for greatness is the best of the best
Little to no oud lol
I think it would be good for 150 euros price
At that price you're starting to talk.. at the current price it's a no.
@@robes08 Exactly
Been testing it for a month, got a full bottle, kinda boring now but silage and longevity worth the money.but after trying FM the moons and the night this is kinda a kindergarten oud.

Initio is from the same guy who created Parfums de Marley right?
have anyone noticed that initio fragrances, on fragrantica, have a number of likes - comments (reviews) ratio that no other fragrance have?
Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of this one. In my opinion Side Effect was a much better release from them. I even like Rehab, and Psychedelic Love More as well! It's all just personal preference, as always.
And know Layton & Layton Exclusif next 😄✌🔥
Like before watch and i have not try this one yat and i been waiting for your thought on this one to see if the hype is real. I trust your nose. Now i go back to watch the video 🙃🙃
Great test 🚗 video and I enjoyed it and I'm going to get a sample and have a blessed day
Spot on, not much Oud and if so it's very soft!
💯
I find that few fragrances can stand up to their hype.
Overall, a fair test drive, but you did kinda come into it with some bias tbh, sort of a resistance to the hype before you even sniffed it. Only human, I guess. They should have called it Saffron for Greatness!
Thank you for such an honest review. To me, this is so similar to BR 540 that having it in my collection beyond a sample seems redundant.
If you want to smell a much better version of OFG, with better smelling, more realistic Oud, try Thomas Kosmala #9 Bukhoor.
dang you nailed it robs hahahaha way overprice and over hyped
Honestly, i'ld just rather have BR540. I think it's done far better
I tried and tried and tried to like this one, but I just can't. The sillage really does give me middle eastern vibes - that part is ok - but I'm just not down with the scent on me. Like a murky brown crystal. Chemical overload.
The only Initio I could see myself paying the big bucks is Aphrodisiac.
I do need to get back into this brand, I hardly smelled anything from them.
Bet
🤔Hmmmmm. Comment was deleted. Can we not mention Canadian online discounters?
I HAVE 4 FRUM INITIO /
REHAB
ABSOLUTE APHRODISIAC
BLESSED BARAKA
SIDE EFFECT
ALL OF EM R BANGERZ BUTT OFG SMELLZ LIKE BURNT RUBBER 2 ME
I think if it wasn't so over hyped, you might have found it a bit more intriguing. Your expectations were high.

easy to wear oud.

I found OFG very underwhelming and not bottle worthy for me. Smelled like a synthetic cinnamon fragrance
Tfs it is overpriced and not oudy
Overdose of ambroxin
😅✊
8? Hell, I have a clone and it's better than that! You got a little wood against them...
Nothing special .
Nothing new.
Nothing unique.
