If it was a military weapon it would be painted in green baby poop camo with rust accumulating around the edges, and probably would be permanently in the motor pool with a laundry list of complaints on DD-5988s. Probably with a slow class 3 leak. And you'd be tired of looking at it after PMCSing it week after week and scared to drive it, but your 1LT circle X'ed it so you have to anyway.

Not coming with a ton of weapons is not the biggest deal because most kits seem to come with far more weapons than they can hold with not place to attach them all. I'm sure most of us have a pile of unused, unpainted weapons just sitting around. What I really wish though, was that the Space Type was not p-bandai because I much prefer its little design changes.
I do *NOT* prefer the Space Type's Nerf Super Soaker squirt gun.

Thank you for the review, I just bought this kit as my first step into MG kits, i've done a KO MG kit, and was disappointed. I last did kits about 20 years ago when I visited Hong Kong and found a store selling loads of sets. I bought this one and the old Gun Cannon MG kit to try and get back into things. This is going to be my first gunpla,and from what I can tell,it is a good decision.
Ok the gunpla came in after I made that comment and it was not the colony type,but it was the same model sooo,close enough.(also since then I got another gundam, which was the barbatos)

This kit = colors and price tag
GM Sniper II = The sniper rifle and the sniper mode gimmick
GM Sniper Custom = More weapons and accessories and also the sniper mode gimmick
best version of the chin on a GM 2.0 imo.

i think those left over parts might be interesting to have.. i recently built a gm/gm (build fighters) and i have so many left over pieces that i will have to find a use for
and as for gates i personally wish bandai would start putting those gates in better places, i personally am a fan of the under gating or when they put a gate somewhere where it won't be seen like under another panel

The only gunpla review ya didn't reference was Prime92........but that would require an RG Exia and a voice modulator.

As you said, not the most exciting kit (or even exciting on its own).
Buuuut ! I like it, I love the very simple and staight forward design.
Especially the legs, the lines, all in smooth curves are so elegant... In fact, I prefer them to the legs of the GM Sniper 2.
Definitely a kit that I'll get one day.

These kits loom seed. I wanted the sniper 2 but they ran out at usagundam. This things got that articulation though. I think these kits have a TON of potential to customize. Glad you did this kit.

I'd love to pick this one up along with the Sniper 2. The problem is, I already dumped my birthday money into 3 Gundam Local Types, Ground Gundam, and I had to rebuy my RG Unicorn kit because the arm broke.

This is the perfect answer to "What should be my first MG?"
I bought this kit also and it was my first Bandai Master Grade and I love it. I love the simplicity of the design, it reminds me of battroid mode valkyries from Macross. I agree with the issue about the model's arms/sleeves and how they tend to separate. Also found issues with boosters not wanting to stay on, can fix with super glue though.
The references xD SO BOUNTIFUL. And also a very nice MG.
Wish there was a Jobby reference, but I might get slammed for going with the cancer again. Good enough xD

You know they should remake the Kampfer since they have made GM Sniper 2 and now GM Command Colony so why not? Maybe even Alex 2.0. I think it’ll be cool picking up two of the GM and one Sniper 2 to try and recreate the battle scene against the Kampfer even though they had little screen time and ultimately get destroyed.

Nice review, though was hoping for a little more in-depth analysis, kind of annoyed with a few design choices, especially with inside pieces.
Would love to get a few more kits and swapping parts, Gunpla is nice, and I've barely gotten into it.

The GM Sniper II lineart's circles on the legs were the same blue as the rest of the suit, for what it's worth. Not sure why they would paint them grey on the promo images when it's inaccurate and makes the MG inaccurate to the promo images.

I don't understand why so many people rate this kit so high.
It's by far the worst Master Grade I have ever built. It's super hard to exchange the Fingers, the thumb always falls off, the Hand sometimes explodes during posing, only ONE leg can hold tight at the same time, the articulation is really really stiff, the arms constantly fall off, the headparts are not fitting properly and the legs were a nightmare to build.
Either a skill issue or you didn't read the manual carefully

hey Zaku, are there any stores or available products that are focused on specific kit parts such as backpacks? I have some ideas for when my skills improve enough I can attempt modding, but i need GN Drives and don't really want to have to buy any of the 00 kits just for that one part.
