Kyle Morgan Bandai's gotten into the new habit of making kits with MORE unique parts P-Bandai, with the watered-down versions for mass-release. Guess we should be thankful we got the Striker GN-X as a mass-release at all. By the end of this year we might only see one mass-release a month.
Just the way you handle and the Sound of your voice showing is showing how much you love that kit. That brings me alot of Joy to watch. Love your Reviews. When I want to buy a Zaku Kit or a Gundam in HG or RG i go and get me Some Infos from you first. Thx man for being such a help^^
I'm actually loving the colors of this kit very much. The subtle difference between the dark gray and dark blue-black kind of gives the impression that this mobile suit belongs in an elite force or something.
That rectangular tab for the hawk holders is just a little handle to make it easier to clip on/detach, for people with less dexterity. It does get pretty tight in that space where it connects, and if you dont have anlot of finger strength getting it in/out would be a challenge without tools
The best thing for painting mono eyes are the little round stickers for strengthening paper when it's been hole punched for a binder They are very cheap too & you get loads in a pack
Demean Nemean lol no worries mate I'm smoking one now so I know what you mean These are the things www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00VGOJD7A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_THF-AbTGKM27Q
I do like the on the manic moving monoeye gimmick. But with that said it does make it quite annoying when you want the eye in the opposite direction of the head. As for the points of particulate option they removed I'm not completely happy with their absence. Well their movement was small I found them to be quite useful and pulling off particular poses. However it's not all bad the one good thing is that they gave the foot a lot of ranges which is nice. Although I will miss the collapsing chest I wish they'd try to improve on it instead of just getting rid of it.
Definitely picking this up, its the Origin Zaku I've been waiting for Realistic/tactical color scheme? Check! New lines/details/design choices? Check! More substantial weaponry? Check! Can still be upgraded with add ons like the Ballistic Weapons? Check!
I think the tab is there to help you connect the heat hawk. I had mine prior to this review and I know it'd be difficult to attach the clip without the tab.
What I could think about that square peg is maybe it's just some kind of helper(?) for unplugging the connector from the heathawk. I mean, the connector looks so small, and if you didn't push the square peg, i don't know how you unplug that lol
remember that forearm seamline you hate they where able to get rid of that in the hguc gouf custom which i remember you have in one of your unboxing vids, they managed that in a 2010 kit but not these new one??? wtf
Did anyone know the back story about this MS?? I think, since this is the MSD,this MS didn't appear in episode 5 of the Origin OVA,but it was used by The Kycillia force's in the first month of the One Year War
I know this video is like 2 years old by the time I've left this comment but won't lie kinda disappointed it does have the same shoulders and back pack as the Act Zaku in Gundam Battle Operations 2. Really like the look of it there but just having Zaku II shoulders is a big let down.
The forearm seam is still disappointing. If we can figure out how to fix it, why can't Bandai? It also would've been cool if they included a way to mount the axes back to back using the shield hardpoints.
I've painted mono eyes on HG kits by using a pin vise and making a depression that I then fill in by layering acrylic paint until its ever so slightly protruding. On another note, what do you think of the new SD Cross Silhouette line? I'm really excited for the Nightingale.
Why not cut a small slice from the end of a plastic rod and glue that on? That's my solution. Seems like an unnecessary pain in the ass to try and use a pin vice.
Takes me about 30 seconds. I measure the included sticker with a pair of calipers, pick the correct (or closest) bit from my case. Mark the spot with my knife and drill.
30 seconds to find the spot to put the eye? Or 30 seconds to find it, mark it, drill it, and then paint it? What does that do to your drying times since you're building enough paint to form a meniscus? My pin vice doesn't even take bits that large. I use an X-acto saw with a miter box. Cut a thin slice, sand the side I mean to paint. I don't mean to be argumentative, but it feels to me like you've overthought your solution.
30 seconds to mark, measure and drill. I do it before I do any painting. After the base black paint as completely cured, that's when I fill in the mono eye. I usually will put in a layer, let it dry for 10 minutes, put it aside to work on other details, the repeat, until I am satisfied.
Bandai really likes shafting Zeon kits, like they release variations of MS' as regular release, then release the standard design as P-Bandai like WHAT??
The Act Zaku has unique Shoulders (like the Efreet without spikes) and a two-antennae custom backpack unit, while this Act Zaku retains the shoulders and backpack of a standard Zaku II. The P-Bandai kit in particular has another unique beam gun and also comes with two beam sabers that attach on the rear hip skirt, though I think that's more in line with how the Titans used it (as they pretty much borrowed the design for ease of production, following Op. Stardust literally nuking most of the post-OYW arms build up, to get fighting strength up - then phased the Act Zaku out when they finally got things like the Barzam near the end of the Gryps Conflict)
Hey Zak, I wanna ask you a question about the PG light ed Exia you have. Will you paint it or would you recommend to paint up? I would love to know your opinion.
ZakuAurelius okay, so I guess it doesn’t. Was just kinda hoping the grenade launchers were attached to a shared runner with this kit, but it looks like it’s together with the bazooka runner which is a weapon this kit doesn’t have.
Hey Zaku, when you place your mono-eye stickers on Origin kits, do you "eyeball it" from outside the head to center it, or do you use a more scientific method of measurement?
Your proposed fix for the arm seam-line doesn't work from a manufacturing standpoint. For the cheaper injection machines they use for most HG runner manufacture, the parts need a draft to correctly separate from the mould. It would be possible to make a better solution with a more expensive target machine for manufacture (e.g. slide-moulding could be used), but this would add to production costs and make the kit more expensive. EDIT: If you ever wonder why Bandai didn't design it a specific way, it's almost always due to manufacturing constraints. Also, expect waterslides like they've been doing with other The Origin kits. It just takes time.
I can agree with you. I personally wish they could make more mobile suits other than the Zaku. They are gonna make some new kits from the Gundam Local Type, but I personally wish for some GMs in the Origin line. Like we had the Guntank, the Guncannon and some Gundams so why not some GMs.
And make what other suits than the Zaku? The Gouf and the Gyan both got excellent HGUC revive kits and all you'd need to do to make them "Origin" edition is slap some of the spare mini marking decals on 'em. And I think they're holding off on the GM (inevitable Local Type retool of course) because they came out with the Build Fighters GM/GM which is essentially the best GM ever made if you don't count realism into its design. That said, I sure wouldn't mind them getting creative and maybe give us a freakin' Oggo pod 2-pack. If we're going into MSV territory then the Zeon version of a shoddily built, hastily constructed Ball is fair game. And would be far preferable to tracking down that insanely expensive (and more difficult to build) EX model from some years back.
4:19 that's symbol closely resembles the Islamic crescent and star. This kit is racist! I'm just kidding! The Muslims still that symbol from the Greeks which are my people and I don't care that they are using it
Do NOT buy this kit. Bandai screwed over the community real hard by making the actual Action Zaku a P-Bandai, screw them back over by refusing to buy this repackaged Origin Zaku II( again).
Huh? Where have you been? Bandai's been making the "better" versions of kits P-Bandai for years now, this isn't anything new and a 1 man boycott isn't gonna do anything buddy. Also that P-Bandai Act Zaku is just as repackaged as this Act Zaku, and even then, this kits entirely new parts aside from the shoulder pieces so it's not "re-repackaged" at all. If your gonna be ignorant of pretty much everything, don't make a comment like this.
I think Bandai got a bit confused... THIS should be the P-Bandai release, not the normal Act Zaku.
I love the look of this Zaku. Gives me a very stealthy special forces vibe.
WRONG!!!!
*every zaku is special :)
MY EARSSS
itsrifahanif lmao
RIP headphone users xD
itsrifahanif couldn't agree more
Legend says if you're early enough he'll reply...
noah jaramillo *crickets chirping*
ZakuAurelius close enough, I'll take it
The connector peg on there is for the beam rifle that comes with the p bandai ver

Aha, you can use the sticker sheet as a stencil for painting the Mono-eye. I tried it with a Gundam maker, it works perfectly
That rectangular tab for the hawk holders is just a little handle to make it easier to clip on/detach, for people with less dexterity. It does get pretty tight in that space where it connects, and if you dont have anlot of finger strength getting it in/out would be a challenge without tools
I ordered this kit after watching this video and i have never been more satisfied with a kit.
I think the square peg is for connecting with the shoulder shield.
I have one, it's too big.
Then I don't know.
Wow another kit besides the Bugu in the HG line with the mono eye gimmick
I like how you can see the evolution of other Zeon suits in the Act Zaku
The best thing for painting mono eyes are the little round stickers for strengthening paper when it's been hole punched for a binder
They are very cheap too & you get loads in a pack
langlest could you elaborate, maybe with a link to a picture. Stoner, here... I like visual aid lmao
Demean Nemean lol no worries mate I'm smoking one now so I know what you mean
These are the things
www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00VGOJD7A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_THF-AbTGKM27Q
much appreciated!
the square peg is for storing the rifle that comes with the original PBandai version
I do like the on the manic moving monoeye gimmick.
But with that said it does make it quite annoying when you want the eye in the opposite direction of the head.

I kinda wish we had just gotten the proper shoulders, and backpack of the MSV version on this kit
Jetfire48 P B A N D A I
Tze An Koon I know about the p-bandai kit....
he was making a joke Jetfire >_>
Ben Dover how was that a joke?....
This entire video is subtly violent
the head gives it Cylon foot soldiers helmet vibes from Battlestar Galactica.
I think for my first gunpla and first zaku, this is gonna be great!
0:12 r.i.p my hearing
Kartoschka König
w r o n g
woah its the rare light grey background :0, nice review video, im hyped for that p-bandai blue version to arrive
Icelord same i ordered mine and do you know if it has warerslides?
no it comes with sticker decals, they arent so bad if u topcoat it with matte
Well i did see the pics it looks like you stack one on top of another then. A red rectangle with a yellow 2.
they're stickers
Hi Zach, the additional peg that you couldn't find a use for is for the P-Bandai Act Zaku. The beam rifle plugs onto it.
The P-Bandai blue version looks like it could be custom built into a T-51b power armor.
They need more Zaku varients for MG and not just HGs!!
Definitely picking this up, its the Origin Zaku I've been waiting for
Realistic/tactical color scheme? Check! New lines/details/design choices? Check! More substantial weaponry? Check! Can still be upgraded with add ons like the Ballistic Weapons? Check!
kinda wish they implemented this mono eye feature into every zaku kit
12:20 it kind of looks like you're supposed to use that as a lever to help open up the clip to get the heat Hawk Out
Those giant heat hawks look like the ones the Dokuro Zaku had.
the heat hawk looks reeeally good!
The hg unicorn destroy mode has the arm wrist cuff thing
Every HGGTO is worth to buy 🤤
I can say anymore, this is nice MS from kycilia Sabi family
extendo snooter
I think the tab is there to help you connect the heat hawk. I had mine prior to this review and I know it'd be difficult to attach the clip without the tab.

Oh I love this
you know it might go with the kycilia force a Johnny ridden zaku
Could the tab for the big heat hawks fit into the shield?
remember that forearm seamline you hate they where able to get rid of that in the hguc gouf custom which i remember you have in one of your unboxing vids, they managed that in a 2010 kit but not these new one??? wtf
Inormaly don't like the design but i think i might want that Zaku
Did anyone know the back story about this MS??
I think, since this is the MSD,this MS didn't appear in episode 5 of the Origin OVA,but it was used by The Kycillia force's in the first month of the One Year War
But in Non-Canon
I know this video is like 2 years old by the time I've left this comment but won't lie kinda disappointed it does have the same shoulders and back pack as the Act Zaku in Gundam Battle Operations 2. Really like the look of it there but just having Zaku II shoulders is a big let down.
Great for a custom
sold out everywhere :(
Didn't the the Bugu have the forearm seam redesigned?
Zen It did. Bugu has MG Mono-Eye gimmick AND fixed forearm cuff seam. Sadly, being in all-blue means non-Ramba Ral fans don't get the taste of it.
Yep! And that’s why the Bugu, though kinda ugly, is probably the best engineered Origin kit.
You could always paint the Bugu to your liking.
They should sell hgbc sets for the origin line
The forearm seam is still disappointing. If we can figure out how to fix it, why can't Bandai? It also would've been cool if they included a way to mount the axes back to back using the shield hardpoints.

Rectangular peg part is probably for butt skirt, but that doesn't sound useful considering there's two peg holes ?
same
but different
but still the same
IS that a motherFUCKING half in the bag reference!!!???
Bandai really likes shafting Zeon kits, like they release variations of MS' as regular release, then release the standard design as P-Bandai like WHAT??
12:12 backskirt?
I want this kit but it’s so hard to find for a reasonable price
Hope for a reissue at some point!
I have a problem with the head.
As much as the snapped up colours arent exactly overwhelming, I can see myself painting it up in the same colours as Soundwave from Transformers
I've been wondering though. What's the difference between this and the actual Act Zaku?
The Act Zaku has unique Shoulders (like the Efreet without spikes) and a two-antennae custom backpack unit, while this Act Zaku retains the shoulders and backpack of a standard Zaku II.

Is HG The Origin line supposed to be a test bed for new HG kit engineering?
don't think so. it's supposed to be a test bed for HG The Origin kits ;)
Does this come with a normal Act Zaku shaped head? or am I stuck with the kycillia bump?
X-plus Kaiju Collectors Crew regrettably you are stuck with the bump.
Hey Zak, I wanna ask you a question about the PG light ed Exia you have. Will you paint it or would you recommend to paint up? I would love to know your opinion.
I plan to paint it eventually!
ZakuAurelius that's awesome, I saw one guy did on instagram, I hope you showcase it here for is all to see!
Does this come with the grenade launchers that can attach to the shoulder shield?
Adriel Macaspac everything that’s included is covered in this video
ZakuAurelius okay, so I guess it doesn’t. Was just kinda hoping the grenade launchers were attached to a shared runner with this kit, but it looks like it’s together with the bazooka runner which is a weapon this kit doesn’t have.
Those are bazooka cartridges...
Hey Zaku, when you place your mono-eye stickers on Origin kits, do you "eyeball it" from outside the head to center it, or do you use a more scientific method of measurement?
CISsuperdroid just eyeball it as close to the center as I can
ZakuAurelius Ah, I see-thanks! Lol, too bad Bandai forces us to use such methods...
What p bandi?
Do you hava a coupon code for hlj?
Kartoschka König nope sorry
Does it have any left over parts?
Yep
Yep
ZakuAurelius cool, which ones?
Is this the Act Zaku that is involved in your Mail Giveaway?
it's one of the optional prizes for the winners, yes.
Your proposed fix for the arm seam-line doesn't work from a manufacturing standpoint. For the cheaper injection machines they use for most HG runner manufacture, the parts need a draft to correctly separate from the mould.

Also, expect waterslides like they've been doing with other The Origin kits. It just takes time.
It's too bad the actual Act Zaku ended up as P-Bandai like the Zaku Cannon.
Couldn't watch immediately. I was in school
Nice kitto
Man, it does not look good in this color scheme. The P-Bandai Act Zaku looks so much better, plus it comes with beam sabers and a beam rifle.
There is a zaku 1 There is a zaku 2
*WHERE THE @#$% IS THE ZAKU 3!*
Zaku lll is in ZZ!
NL I but only in *ZZ*
It's also in unicorn
and also in that gundam twilight thingy
um, this line only covers the Origin which is the Pre-OYW to OYW era suits, the Zaku III is from ZZ a.k.a. the 1st Neo Zeon War.
Oh look
Another origin zaku
Can... can they like... make another kind of mobile suit? Even with the new stuff, it's still a zaku.
I can agree with you. I personally wish they could make more mobile suits other than the Zaku. They are gonna make some new kits from the Gundam Local Type, but I personally wish for some GMs in the Origin line. Like we had the Guntank, the Guncannon and some Gundams so why not some GMs.
Just you wait, when we move on to the OYW part of the series, where the GMs wreck the Zakus, there will be a GM bomb

I CRAVE MOAR ZAKU'S!!!
WRONG
The mono eye moving gimmick thing is super ANNOYING.
Yeah, it makes the head fall apart.
4:19 that's symbol closely resembles the Islamic crescent and star. This kit is racist! I'm just kidding! The Muslims still that symbol from the Greeks which are my people and I don't care that they are using it

yeah as I stated in the video a few times, it's actually an upgrade to the Origin Zaku II in some ways.
Null.
Ok Bandai Shill, don't reply to me ever again.
CrippledWeebTrash nice response to their argument
CrippleWeebTrash You couldn't come up with a better rebuttal, could you.
I disagree with you, the loss of the toe bend is a bigger deal - that bit of separation adds a LOT of stability for dynamic poses.
Hopefully Bandai restocks this kit someday, missed out on it when it was released and haven't seen it available in years 🥲
