I'd love to hear your opinion on the different apps for controlling dmx enabled lights. Since my gaffer has like 6 Skypanels and enjoys a really user friendly interface, we've been using Arri's Stellar app to control them with an ipad but honestly I have mix feelings about it. I think Blackout seems to have the most potential and depth but is the least easy to use while Luminair is a mix of both. Is the control One kit any good? We're trying the Cintenna 2 system next month
I use the Exalux Control One with 4 Kinos, 2 Nanlux Evoke, 8 Astera Nyx, 1 Hazer, 2 Astera Pixel Bricks, 1 Falcon Eyes 2x3 RGB and have spare receivers for say Skypanels - its very straightforward, efficient and can control up to 40 fixtures in one universe - good range too. The Aputure app drives me mad when I need to use with it with my MCs constantly loses communication and a real faff - when DoPs are used to CRMX wireless control - the App is too slow. So App ok at a push now and then, Exalux good all day day in day out.
Yeah, no. They're not too big for what they are intended for. You don't put a 600 Pro and and a Light Dome 150 in a TH-camrs garage or basement. You put them on set, you put them on location, you put them in a decent sized photo studio. They excel where you CAN'T get lights close or they'd be in shot. For my basement YT studio a relatively low powered flex light gives me the same sized key light (relatively speaking) because its inches from my head. If I have to hide a light outside a window and key a group of people, though, I need the 600D. Actually, I probably need two.

Very low. like 5%. By contrast, the light dome SE on aputure 120d ii was at 80%

no because it's so heavy that it's only compatible for 600x and 600d and the 1200
