- Purchased July 6, 2017 and finished September 19, 2017. Wiseco 55mm piston, Athena Gaskets, Langcourt re-plated cylinder, Moose Bearings and seals, Mikuni PWK 38mm carburetor, Motul Oil, Buchannan Spokes, and Ron Ayers Motorsports.
I did a full restore on a 2000 KX 125 last summer. Finally worked up the courage to get my 94 KX 125 project that's been 15 years in the making wrapped up. She's been sitting completely disassembled in totes for the past 14 years. Work resumed on it last week, I had most of the aluminum components polished and cleaned from my attempt 15 years ago, stored it with plenty of wd-40 and it still looks good. I only abandoned the project because my fame went missing for 6 years. By the time I got it back from the sandblasting place I had lost interest in the project. I pulled the totes from my barn last year and placed them in my primary shop so I'd be forced to look at them every day until I got annoyed enough to finish it. Took a year of being annoyed, but it gave me the ambition to get her together!

I'm currently fixing up a 95 kx125. And I wondered if the 250 plastics worked. I'm stripping the whole bike down. And have a lot of polishing to do. Just waiting on my top end parts to arrive. Wiesco 54.50 piston kit. With new gaskets.

I had a shop and parts cost were greatly reduced. I have built many bikes over the last 50 years and as I was about to close my shop I did this one for myself and a 99 KX80 for my grandson.

Hi Ralph , can I bother U for a question or 2 ? I was wondering if the kx has 2 radiators standard and , are those pwk carburators better then the standard one ? I have a 99 kx and rebuilding/modifying it here and there , too bad sm wheels are so darned expensive
TheBosbeest two radiators are standard. The carb is recommended by Eric Gorr and with an engine with matched cases, ported, and flowed, it makes a big difference. I have owned many many two strokes and this is the fastest 125 I have ever ridden. I have ridden a couple of 144s and this bike feels faster.
Impressive reaction time to respond :D,thank U, it s my first 125cc 2 stroke , those kx s are pretty fast I was pleasantly surprised with that , traded a cbr125cc for it , doing some improvements bit by bit , just noticed the air filter mount s missing , no air filtration whatsoever , I dont think thats good and she starts difficult on cold starts , 15/20 kicks without choke (dont think it works) after that initial start 1kick and she starts every time ,parts I m looking for are kinda expensive , vforce 3 reeds , fmf exhaust + fmf fatty or shorty , unsure , k&n filter on it s way, speedo cable coz I dont know how fast she goes ,estimate 140KM/H ,since the previous owner plastic dipped it , I m redoing it , (I dropped it and myself while losing grip on gravel at low speed) ,thx for the info @@RdRcr150

I have damn near the same set up but I got Boyessen reed cage and reeds. I'm at 48/160 1200ft.

Mason Bennett they were off my 2000 KX250
Should have spent the few extra $ on a seat cover. That one doesn't match anything on the bike, ruins the look of a nice looking build. Other than that I think it turned out great! Thanks for sharing
Mark mcmahen I have a new cover. That’s the original seat.
