Miso.. this is an absolute banger. You hit so many important points of this class (even some more in depth points) while still making it simple and easy to understand. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this, even though I've been maining her since release :) Glaivier mains rise up! 🙌
IMO, rating pinnacle as Great Stagger seems like a pretty big overexaggeration, and is a common misconception in the community. Her long form stagger is actually terrible, especially since losing wheel of blades double use with the rework. Against a boss that has a standard stagger bar, and other competent players, at most you'll see Annihilator. That being said, Raging Dragon Slash (with overwhelm rune) kinda carries it for short stagger checks, so its passable there, but I'd still put it below average. Great destruction/synergy/counters though
I put overwhelm on wheel of blades even with 1. And kept galewind on rds. Its honestly still above avg but idk about great. Now sharpshooter is avg and you dont use ur main dmg skills

1610 glaivier here Short answer:NO Long answer: this class is the definition of B tier. It got nerfed twice, SG keeps reducing the move speed and increasing the crit damage on a class that has close to 250 crit damage and can't run keen blunt. In fact after grudge and cursed doll and ambush master there is no optimal engravings to go. As mentioned keen blunt is terrible because of the inherent high crit damage in the kit, not enough casting skills to make AOA worth, and because SG keeps nerfing our move speed raid captain can never be at 100% efficiency. So you basically you can't utilize an engraving to fullest like striker or DB can for example. SG keeps justifying the nerfs by saying they don't want glaivier to be a back attack exclusive class yet they outright killed the nightmare build by removing crit rate from blue stance and forcing you to chose between crit rate on blue skills or damage making them effectively hit for nothing. In fact they keep digging the grave of this build deeper by giving it "compensation buffs" of crit damage, crit damage buffs for a class that has around 250 crit damage and is forced to run keen blunt instead of ambush master. As for control: KEKW TL;DR SG doesn't understand this class or what they want to do with it. Don't bother
I completely agree with you. I main 1620 glv 5x3+1adr spec/crit. She fell off so bad after the nerfs that she keeps getting without any fking reason. Im actually abandoning glv and switching to SE instead and be hitmaster. Backattacking is already a nightmare then you add this 50/50 to crit with RDH. Very painful experience. I hate the fact that i have to use/wait for SBD before i switch to red stance.
Dragonscale Defense didn't get a mention which I find interesting, it definitely adds to the survivability of the class and does okay dmg even with 0 points. It makes hits that would normally not be survivable, survivable + it let's you greed where other classes might struggle to.
I don't think she is 3/5 in terms of difficulty to play. Why? Because she have 4 DMG skill on Red Stance and 3/4 DMG skill is hold, cast etc. I think it should be at least 4/5 when u try to hit her skills back attack. Its %100 suffer.
3/5 for cost what?! Of my whole roster glavier needs the most damage gems by far ( comapred to sorc, summmoner, surgeblade, lunar reaper, and artist). Are there that many classes with 5+ damage gems?
There are actually quite a few! Peacekeeper GS and both Deadeyes use 7 dmg gems. Both scrappers and RE DB can use 7 damage gems depending on the build. Pred Slayer, Mayhem Zerk, Eso Wardancer, Control Glaivier, AT Scouter (and more) all use 6 Damage Gems. And even more use 5 dmg gems. The calculation that I use for the cost category also deals with upfront cost as well and not only the cost of endgame gems (i.e. all lvl 10 damage gems). So Glaivier not having to worry about spec breakpoints for their accessories but also the fact that pinnacle glaiviers are fairly popular, increasing the number of accessories in the market and bringing that cost down a bit also goes into this calculation. Having said that, I wouldn't be opposed to bringing the cost down to 2.5 either but I ended up going with 3 in this video for those reasons.
Entropy together with charging skills and with broken jumping skill that counts as back attack based from location of using it instead of landing. Glaivier has many issues and wouldn't recommend it to anyone currently to main it. Fyi I'm glaivier main

I agree, stagger is quite bad without RDS up. Very good for stagger checking, but not consistent stagger.

I feel like they’re not as fun to play anymore being a back attacker. I’m dropping my juiced Glaiver for breaker when he comes out
