    Best audio channel on the internet right here. You extremely knowledgeable and good at sharing such knowledge. The videos are interesting and creative. You put extras in the description (tools and products and where to get them)
    You explain everything in a way that anyone can understand.
    Keep it up my man your rocking it! 👍🤙

    Mark, i really love the work that you do. It's not just the car audio work, but as a person who edits and uploads car audio videos, i really appreciate the hard work that you put into your shooting and editing. I see the amazing amount of care, effort and skill that you put into your videos. Also, what a freaking cool tool! Gotta love Mobile Solutions.

    Put stoppers on the edge of the curved feet so you can stop the piece from rocking in time exact spot each time and get an even radius in the workpiece

    That's a really crazy-cool template system! Probably well beyond anything I'd ever need as a hobbyist (and my belt sander would get jealous, lol), but I can see the value in that for someone doing lots of custom work!

    Great video! That's a fun jig. You could also mix two different arches for each of the sides to get even more complex shapes.

    Could you do a video on transmission line boxes? Or a video on using different sized subs for different frequencies in a single build? I am interested in how you could do that. Love the channel!

  • @mrbigbri

    Wow. Really pushing the envelope on what the router is capable of! I thought you were going to make a Ducks logo with that! haha.

  • @AldenPez
    @AldenPez 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would like to know if there is an attachment that you could make to a subwoofer box to test subwoofers of different sizes. Perhaps something similar to your second layer baffle, but somehow detachable. I know each subwoofer wouldn't sound its best but it would be a way to test used subwoofers to make sure they still worked. thanks!

  • @xaytana
    @xaytana 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Make a domed rear mount baffle for a speaker, that'd be cool.
    Also, find a way to use inverted arcs, to get a domed shape imprint on a piece; as it's probably not recommended to use a router on this and work on a piece. I'm thinking of two legs with bearings on top so the arcs can roll.
    Also, for a future revision of this product, they should allow the side plates to mount on all four sides; it'd be more efficient to just swap around pieces rather than taking the piece off, retaping, and remounting.
    And at what point does MS have so many products, a cnc machine with 3D software is a viable alternative? Most machines are 2.5D, or plunge and route, where 3D has continuous Z axis control to create curves within the Z-X or Z-Y planes, though this is accomplished better with a ball nosed bit. I feel CNC would give unlimited solutions, whether it's custom templates or full box design, plus the accuracy would be better for tight installations where human error could ruin a project. Even Meade and Doug have cnc machines now.

    hey man keep up the videos. I have a quick question, and sorry if you've listed where to get these before. what are those things called you put on the end of wires then insert into your amp. wire ferrerls? I'm having a hard time fitting this zero gauge into my amp. thanks!

    i love the video but my only issue with product is the amount of time it may take to perfect this style of curving flattened wood given the fact the device is carving upside down. if i were to make one myself. it would have to be with a handheld router and setup would be the same but clear faceplate would be rounded with a second plate that rotated up down and side to side to be able to see how uniform it is cutting

    Ever heard about 3-D printing?

    • @CarAudioFabrication
      @CarAudioFabrication  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I've done several 3d printing videos. I can 3d cut a piece using the method from this video in less than 15 minutes. Good luck doing that with a 3d printer. Every tool has an application.

  • @seancarraher

    The jig needs to be kept as parallel as possible when moving side to side is that correct?

    • @CarAudioFabrication
      @CarAudioFabrication  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, you can be anywhere on the table and it would not change the relationship between the router bit and work piece. What is important is lining up the piece when you stick it to the shield with template tape, but its not hard, the alignment lines help with placement.

    Brilliant video, but what about a CNC machine? You could do almost any shape, do curves on multiple surfaces. It might take a bit longer to design on computer, but you could then reuse/ replace any messups easily

    • @CarAudioFabrication
      @CarAudioFabrication  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No offense but I laugh so hard when this comment comes up. Do you have any idea how expensive a 5 Axis CNC machine is? That's what you would need to complete this same machining task. We're talking 6 figures easily. Anyone who thinks "just cnc it" has never ran a CNC. I can make any of these projects in like 15 minutes. 15 minutes and you would still be drawing for a Cnc. Then you have to create a fixture, make sure your tool paths are good, etc.. It's not like you just throw a piece of wood at a machine and it catches it and out pops your part.

      Much more of a pain in the butt to use a CNC. CNC, plotters ect can be a real pain in the butt for a single project. Now if he was wanting multiple reproductions of it I could see it but better be making some real $ to make the payment or just have $ to blow.

    All that work to put sawdust in a car? MDF is garbage. I think you should use the piece to make a mold and cast it out of plastic.
