It is difficult for someone Mexican to hear that alarm, or well, for me it was because I heard that while an earthquake left my school group trapped in school
If only we ever got to actually use it. Mexico’s alarm system is uh… bad. Just bad. Unless your TV is on, you’ll probably never hear the alarm. It’s not like the US where they just blast the entire cities phones with the alarm, whether they’re on or off

Combined i'd say at least 10K people have died and many more injured. It's an alarm that just strikes fear and trauma into all mexicans that hear it.

@@_-september the bad thing that you don't know and most people don't add in these videos is that there are 2 versions of the EAS alarm, 1 thats just "wowowowowo" when its like medium type of earthquake that just moves a bit the earth, but the 2nd one when a guy says is a seismic alarm along with the "wowowowo" means that the earthquake is gonna hit hard and pretty sure take down buildings
@@silver_elerizo6081 and sometimes the thing doesn't go off until the damn earthquake has started, like in 2017
@@baldaizamusic if i remember it was to alarm the people before the earthquake happens,or imagine that the alarm goes right when buildings are starting to fall apart and the earth starts to shake, they do it like that so you can have time to leave the house or building and guard yourself before it starts and not get trapped inside the place in case it does fall or even lose your life due to big pieces of debris crushing you (people trapped in those even have to wait days to get rescued while being trapped there, and who knows if the debris is crushing you or you are suffocating due to the little space and the lots of dust in there)

As a Mexican, hearing the alarm the first time really fucked me up so bad to the point that I feel that could ring again at any time. Maybe because I'm not used to it, but hearing the alarm is a serious situation, I live in an area where there are some minor earthquakes (around 3 to 5 degrees Richter). We do not have any horn to hear the alarm, however, it is so loud throughout the country that we hear it. It is terrifying to hear it, it only sounds when there are earthquakes of high magnitude (like in 1999 or 2017), Perhaps that is why the sound of the alarm is not very interesting, but its function can leave more than one person frozen.
