I truly enjoy these series. I learn so much. As a Virginian it’s good to get out of my “comfort zone” and learn about the Western Campaigns. Thanks, all.
We live in East Brainerd, Tennessee, which is about 20 minutes from the Chickamauga Battlefield. We go there a lot and went to the 156th anniversary I believe it was, just last September. Very excited to hear what you all ha e in store for us now in our neck of the woods!
I am beyond excited for these videos! My contribution to the trip was small, but so very worth it! Mr. Ogden is a Legend! Thank you ABT for giving Chickamagua some love!
I hope to visit there one day. I have two relatives that died in the battle of Chickamauga. I am excited and look forward to see what the ABT will share of this historic mansion.
Braxton Bragg to his generals: "gentlemen, give me your honest opinion about my how effective of a leader I am." Bragg's generals: "you suck." Bragg: "what? How dare you!"
This is very intriguing The battles in the West aside from Vicksburg in 1863 June a near battle at Chickamauga but it was not too be until September, NorthWest of Chatanooga,TN
Been there many years ago. Looks like it has grown up quite a bit since then. We saw Lee and Gordan's mill when it was kind of derelict and almost ruins. Later went back when running another tour and it had been all fixed up and painted. Actually, preferred seeing it looking more worn down. Looked remarkedly like the period pictures of it. Same thing with Carnton. When I first saw it nobody was there and got to lounge on the back porch where the dead bodies of the generals killed there at Franklin had all been laid out. Went back later and there was a fence around it and access to the building was limited.
General Rosecrans is my great great ...grandfather, he got a bum rap. He was a great taction , had he been reinforced, he wouldn't have lost the battle , and been gone even deeper into the south. He was to spread out.
So Bragg gave Rosecrans and the AOC The Army of the Cumberland a birthday present, Chatanooga where the Yankees are now, as stated by Bugs Bunny to Yosemite Sam
Great video. The story of the veteran’s bbq was exceptionally interesting to me. Keep up the great work!

I’m in Ooltewah and have been going to the battlefield my entire life. Only in the last few years I have realized how large a battle this was.

Thanks for the help!
Thank you Gary and all supporters of the ABT! This was a wonderfully informative and entertaining video!
The area I lived the 2nd longest in my life. :) nearly 12 years. :) Fond memories there.
Thank you so much for these videos. Your driving tour of Gettysburg is one of my favorite things to watch!

I live in Ringgold Ga less than a mile from the Ringgold depot and probably a mile or so from where the General ran out of steam.
As a Tullahoma native it was good to hear us mentioned in today's video, wonderful video as always and I gain new insight when watching these...
Working on my genealogy and I find that the ancestors who fought on either side all seem to have been at Chickamauga.
I’m from Tennessee and have family on both sides of this battle. The Civil war was tragic and reached each and every family in some way.
Hello from Switzerland!

Awesome presentation. Love the work you all do. Thank you, and looking forward to more. 😊😊😊👍👍👍
My Ancestor fought here with the 35th Ohio. Lt. Col Henry Van Ness Boynton.
Constantly amazed at all the vintage cannon at these sites. Would have thought scrap drives during WW1 and 2 would have done them in

Hallo from Germany 👍
Garry is a great wizard of civil war history. He needs to work on his weather control wizardry. :)
I had family fight at Chickamauga from Indiana and Alabama. I was wondering where the confederate dead was buried that fell at Chickamauga?
Great
👍
When you look up the definition photo bombing you'll see Garry's picture! lol

Only one way to say it:. VER - GIN - YAH. Don't know why people misspell it all the time.

How do I get a chance to smoke out of that pipe? 😉
The barbecue stuff is totally unnecessary.
It's relevant in relation to the forming of the battlefield park
