I got so excited when I realized he was talking about project Azorian, although I don't think it's possible to scuba dive that deep. On a creepier note, the submarine was named the K-129 and was one of 4 subs to mysterious sink in 1968. Edit: correction, I got the sub names mixed up. 🫠
The submarine the Navy tried to raise in Operation Azorian was K-129, a Russian diesel-electric-powered submarine with 3 ballistic nuclear missiles, that sank in the Pacific, in the general area of Hawaii. The Scorpion you mentioned was a US Navy, nuclear powered attack submarine and sank in the Atlantic.
So I’m guessing that there are multiple psychic and time-related anomalies going on; the crew issue, I’d bet, was an effort to create Deadhand type effects for a sub that might have ended up with, say, massive radiation? Where the crew all physically die but their residual energies are bound and used to fight the ship? And I could see there being some type of animal-infuriating anomaly set to guard the hull in case something happened, which it did.
Reaching the surface so quick without getting “The Bends”, yet being that deep for so long?? If they weren’t at least doing “decompression stops”, that’s a fatal risk. 😯
Every time I watch one like this still unexplained it leaves me with more questions then answers and always wanting more. Keep it up the Foundation well always try to understand the anomalies.
I actually do love early(pre 2000) SCPs and how they handled the...political sort of things I guess. Specifically the division between the United States and the Soviet Union's use of anomalies. The US, depending on the author, tended to see, hey, weird, and just label and file it away, maybe throwing a few guys at it to see what it could do, weaponizing only the easiest to use ones. Meanwhile GRU-Division P was basically trying to turn EVERY weird thing they found into a tool or a weapon. And it never worked, either resulting in the whole team dying, or an actual danger to the world in some way, forcing others to come in after them to either contain it, or dismantle it in the case of some that the GOC got their hands on. So while the US seems more or less to be ignoring a great source of power during the Cold War Era, the Soviets trying to grab it with both hands results more often than not in dangers they can't control.

The P-120 Malakhit is a Russian medium range anti-ship missile used by corvettes and submarines. Introduced in 1972, it remains in service but has been superseded by the P-270 Moskit. The Project 670 Skat submarine was a nuclear-powered cruise missile submarine built for the Soviet Navy and later operated by the Russian Navy. All Charlie I/II-class submarines are decommissioned. One Charlie-class submarine was used for testing an Oniks missile. Charlie I and its successor Charlie II-class submarines are designed by the Lazurit Central Design Bureau of Gorky.

What if the shell is what led to the anomalies? What if the attacker was the chaos insurgency or other special interest group that used technology developed by the church of mechaine (however you spell it)?
I wouldn't be surprised if there was an SCP based on the Titanic at this point. Dat 564 of asking the O5 Council to use SCP-1968 to create a universe in which 682 doesn't exist.
The history recount forgot to mention Hiroshima, Nagasaki and the US atomic missiles positioned in Turkey since 1959 that started the missile crisis with the USSR.
Maybe it’s to live for ever in a gas form and when you take it you just become nor solid or liquid and would make beings in a area hostile but the pressure that I don’t understand, but having organic not clothes being affected and the crew there and nit there I have that as a theory.
You don't send submarines to fight submarines you send surface ships and aircraft. A helicopter directed by ship with a couple torpedoes strapped to it are cheaper, you can field more of them and are as effective. And they are basically immune to detection and counter attack from the target.
The opposite is more true though. Submarines are completely invisible to helicopters as air radars aren't the same as sonar, and trying to strike with a missile that starts in the air means there will be a long adjusting time the sub can easily clear during
Seems like the guy who wrote the SCP has no clue how missiles work because somehow a missile hit the sub while surfacing which means that the sub is underwater and that means the missile wouldnt be able to lock onto the sub or even hit the sub since the missile would explode upon hitting the waters surface

This SCP is unfortunately undercut by the wildly inaccurate portrayal of history (I mean in the first part, ofc, not the sub). During the period known as the 'Cold War,' which included the October 1962 "Caribbean Crisis" or "Cuban Missile Crisis," the Soviets had FAR fewer nuclear devices/capabilities than the US; the US was also the first AND second to aggress into foreign territory, the only country to actually _attack_ another, and the only party that outright _refused_ to attempt to de-escalate the situation, especially the missile crisis (which it was the main catalyst for). If it wasn't for Soviet president Nikita Khrushchev's diplomacy, insistence on de-escalation and refusal to strike back (which he was removed from office for in the USSR due to alleged "weakness"), we WOULD have had a nuclear war with Soviet Russia and a 3rd world war. If you don't believe me, Google it. This stuff is no longer disputed or obfuscated due to the passage of time - this is now the overwhelming historical scholarly consensus (yes, even in the US).
