  • There are a lot of ways to duplicate geometry in SketchUp! Sometimes it can be hard to decide which way is best. Thankfully, Aaron has a breakdown about which tool you shoudl use, and when... and where... and why... oh, and how!

@@SketchUp Used the scale command to modify a table frame today at work. Every video I watch of yours has helped me immensly.

Another important part about the flip tool not shown is that it can adjust its flipping plane to the axis outside of the group if different by using the modifier key. In my recent example, i had the groups axis on the angle for a roof plane but needed to flip along the regular buildings vertical axis.

Yes! Good call. That's a great use case too. Thanks J Lo!

Great tutorial. Do people often design in quarters? Honest question, or was this more for illustrative purposes?

    • @SketchUp

Absolutely! A table like this is probably more illustration than anything else, but Aaron has done a number of models that were designed in halves, quarters, or even eighths in previous videos and live streams!

No sure if it's the right place to post this, but where is the video about colour by tag with Eric gone which was posted in the levelling up format earlier today? Started watching this morning but had to pause as other things got in the way... Was looking forward to watch now but it's gone. Are you going to publish it again? Thanks in advance, David

That video was supposed to be scheduled for release on March 28. There must be a glitch in the Matrix for it to have shown up briefly earlier.

Why remove the flip axis from a right click? Now I need to open a new dialog to simply flip on a axis. Seems useful and not at the same time.

Would you please let me know if you’re using the payed or free version of the app! Thanks

The free version is web browser-based. What Aaron here is showing is the Desktop or Pro version.
