Super excited for this battle report, love the great content you guys bring to the community and it's been awesome seeing the channel grow, looking forward to the next battle but until then, PLAY ON! 🤘
It’s a small point and probably didn’t effect this game at all, but Mandrakes don’t actually have the deepstrike ability. They have Infiltrators, and then can use their fade away ability to slip away into reserves and then come back deep-strike style. Just means that if they start the game off the table, then they have to come onto the board as standard reserves, which I believe they did this game.
That's why you see high level deldar players put them in the very back corners in deployment as they cannot start off the board without coming within 6 turn 2
@jtmcdowell2331 they also have stealth which helps. And deployment will depend on what I know my oppo ent is bringing. If they have a lot of good indirect potential, I'd pull them into reserves to start, but given that skysplinter threat comes from the vehicles, people won't bat an eye at the mandrakes that early
This is the battle I have always wanted to see on the tabletop: The Imperial Guard vs. Drukhari Realspace Raiders. Ever since seeing JT's collection of awesome Drukhari ships, I have wanted to see them be thrown against a horde of Guard tanks and the explosions did not disappoint. Hail Commisar Nick! Victory for the Emperor!!
Just wanted you to know I subscribed within the first 15 seconds due to production value alone. I am assuming I'm about to watch a 40 min video of a Warhammer 40k match. I don't even have to watch the rest of the video to know that you are going to deliver on that promise. The minis were painted well and the videography was on point. the amount of casualties and carnage in this battle was insane. more than most games i see on here. definitely fitting for a guard vs drukhari matchup.
@@vicroc4 I believe it is new rule in the new codex but don't quote me on that. I only say that cause every other time Nick has played guard he'd never used that start before until this game.

The "you're gonna need it" had me. Couldn't tell if Nick or jt said it then I watched jts lips move ever so slightly with that quirky voice. Very funny 😅
talk about a close game. Was rooting for Nick all the way. How do Guard players feel about the order system? is it fun to use, clunky or something else? i'm considering starting guard or nids and trying to get opinions on those armies.
Long time guard player. Make tokens for your orders so you remember what orders are given. The guard is very good if you have good synergies but in order to have good synergies and not have the match take all day you need to remember the rules.
Guard are one of the hardest armies to build lists for and play well on the tabletop. If you're not a die hard guard fan it can be a bit of a slog sometimes, especially with the learning curve involved. If you want a horde army that is more forgiving then Nids are a great choice.
JT as narrator: "don't split fire, guys!"

Should've split the atom.
Haha splits bill, splits hairs
