  • The North Norfolk Railway, running easterly from Sheringham on the north coast of Norfolk is a very tidy heritage railway. Today I enjoyed a return trip up and down the line in a rake of well-preserved Mark 1 BR carriages, pulled a 1912 Great Eastern loco, 564 in a fine blue livery.
Drawing the other train in service is a 7F loco, dating back to 1925, number 53809.
I hope you enjoy watching it and feel that you have tagged along with me during my visit.

Both locos were great. I liked the livery of the GE Ry engine, with the fine blue paintwork :) Cheers, Warren

We'll be on that at the end of March/early April and will be staying just across the road from Sheringham Station for a whole 2 weeks!!

What a lovely location you will have. The coast there is beautiful. Will the railway be running then? If so I assume you will be enjoying a ride or two. Cheers :) Warren

Such a lovely railway. I was really very impressed with the way the teams have kept the paintwork and all the heritage buildings so well kept. Thank you for your comment and support. Cheers :) Warren

Such a lovely railway. I visited the line about 15 years ago but didn't remember how pretty the area is. The volunteers do so well looking after everything. Cheers :) Warren

Can we keep the Y14 in GER blue for the rest of its life? The dark blue clashes so well with the yellow cab interior. The loco itself is also very nice, I don’t know why but the lipped funnel looks so distinct.

Hey I don't know how long the loco can stay in the classic GER livery - I agree with your appreciation of the colour blend of blue and the yellow. Such an iconic loco. Thanks for your comment. Cheers, Warren :)
