Thanks so much for watching! Did you ever watch Fighting Foodons? If so, which Foodon was your favorite? Shrimp Daddy is the correct answer, but to each their own. Let me know!
I remember this series. My biggest gripe is that even though chase goes on a whole journey to become a better chief. Even going to make a ramen so good he sold millions in one day. He basically kept using his first Fighting Foodon: Fried Ricer. I would've love seeing him come up with more complicated Fighters as the series progressed.

Imagine if this came out as a game today. Go out find ingredients, recipes, and cooking utensils. So instead of capturing the mons you go out to cook the dishes that you can choose to turn into Fighting Foodons. As you progress you learn more complicated dishes and eventually learn legendary five star meal recipes. Plus each Foodon description has the actual recipie so the player can cook the dish IRL. All I know of this show is that Applegator randomly appeared in other shows for a second and then disappeared. Viewers who didn't watch other shows or paid attention to the commercials were confused. Didn't help some of them were premiere episodes. FoxBox was doing some contest where you had to spot Appergator's random cameo in other shows and you win a prize or something.
I feel like they may have "accidentally" pulled a psy-op with that, because that stupid preschool level design of a creature lives rent-free in my head

True Story FoxBox had a contest where you could draw and create your own Foodon and they’d show winners during commercials on the show. I created Gumbozo, a bowl of Gumbo with a clown theme, I didn’t get picked but I remember this show super well because of that.

I've been waiting for you to cover this! I loved watching this when I was a kid and the theme song just lives rent free in my mind. Doubt this series will ever see a reboot or continuation or really anything, but I can dream.
This show was a staple of my Saturday morning routine even with its brief run. I retained fragments as I grew up: the theme, the exaggerated cooking animations, Fried Ricer. I knew at one point there was a tournament held on a cruise ship that I misremembered as being an arc, but only took up one or two episodes. Talk about a missed opportunity to pad the show. Found a DVD of Fighting Foodons a couple years back. Not one of my prouder purchases with the mentioned wafer-thin story.
I watched one or two episodes when it premiered on Fox Box back in the day, then promptly quit caring. All I really remembered about it was that it used the Can Can song for it's theme, had a cat girl, and Fried Ricer recycled Scyther's voice from Pokemon. Speaking of obscure Saturday morning Fox anime series....I'd love to see you tackle Flint the Time Detective at some point.
I got a obscure one for you "Chumballs" and before you ask it a show about three kids going around the world checking/helping these small robot called Chumballs that were made to restore the planet after it was extremely polluted.
