One thing that I'm realizing is that because all of the images of Blitzo that Stolas conjures are outlines, it metaphorically displays that there is one important detail that Stolas is not seeing or acknowledging - Blitzo's Scars.
His butler has been given a name by the fans. It's Pringles, because he's a snack. In the Ozzies episode you see him at the club sitting at a table with like 6 people all interested in him.
By far the craziest part of this song to me is that it wasn’t written by any of the show writers at all but by a fan song writer who released the song just before the Ozzie’s episode and read exactly where the show was going PERFECTLY
Well the crew edited a couple lines here and there to match with the "current" story (at the time), since the song was written 2-3 years before this release. But the fact that they ONLY had to edit a couple lines for STORY CLARITY is still *insane*.
I find myself wondering if one of the main reasons that Stolas thinks that just loving Blitz hard enough will fix him (Blitz) is because that's what Stolas thinks about his own self... that if someone would just love him (Stolas) correctly, then he'd be fixed and happy and everything would be okay. HAHA NOT LIKE I'M SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE OR PROJECTING OR ANYTHING.

In all honesty, Blitz probably prefers the transactional nature of his relationship with Stolas, because it involves a service he knows he can provide and it gives him an automatic excuse to keep him at arms length. He’s so used to being kicked around that he has no idea what an outstretched hand looks like.
It's a safety net! Blitzø hates himself so much, and utterly places himself as the destructive force that only ruins other people in his life that he truly believes nobody would ever choose to be NEAR him without an outside reason. He has M&M, who depend on him for work, and Loona who is literally his dependent and lives in his apartment. The transactional component of his relationship with Stolas was a crutch he needed to feel secure. Stolas is right in that it's wrong to be tethered to somebody that way, they can't take the next step until that barrier is gone, but he didn't know or think to discuss how Blitzø feels beyond springing a proposal on him with no warning.
I thought that water jump shot would get him FOR SURE. Yeah, 3D rotations are hard, but HB does them enough and he's geeked out over them enough that he might be developing a tolerance.
I gotta admit, I only discovered this show a month ago, and found myself a little obsessed. I watched so many compilations and reaction videos, but always felt like i was missing something. A lot of people compliment Brandon Rogers for his amazing performance as Blitz, but for me Bryce Pinkham will always give him a run for his money. Dude can sing.
All the VAs are great. Folks just forget that Brandon is more than edgy jokes. Especially fans who may not have watched Brandon's youtube channel before. Even some of his more trashier series have little moments of something sincere and sweet sprinkled over the crazy. So when he puts more oomph in the emotional deliveries it catches a lot off guard in a good way.

I still love that slow camera pan shot with Stolas and the planets. I'm a sucker for when someone animates the camera moving around a character in one go like that. Because I know that is NOT a easy shot to do. It's a total flex for animators to do that and I love it.
I'm always so impressed when they make deep detailed facial (and body) expressions so readable on characters that lack normal human features. I think you highlighted that on Heimerdinger as well.
I like it more when you interrupt, it balances out the video better. I think of it like a meal that is both sweet and savory - with your commentary being the savory part and the video the sweetness. By watching the whole song uninterrupted it feels like I just indulged in eating the sweet part of the meal first without pausing to refresh my pallet on something else. It’s still a good video but I feel I would have enjoyed it more with your commentary spliced throughout it. Loved the moment with Skyen's cat interrupting his "never doubt me again" speech, loved skyen saying the chat was keysmashing like little bottoms, just a very fun one all around while we sit back and admire the suffering of our favorite bird nerd. I think Skyen is right to point out how we see only the two dimensional representation of Blitz and never really see its face, I think it definitely is symbolically highlighting that Stolas has not yet understood one of the essential pillars of Blitz's personality, although I dont think Stolas sees Blitz as lesser or as two dimensional in the real world.
You helped me solve a writing problem I've been fighting with for a full year with the logic and force line. Thank you so much Skyen this is why I watch your videos Edit: I have had situations where people told me to "be logical about this" when I was full blown trying to explain my side of things. Usually what they mean is "I don't care about your reasons/perspective/what's actually going on. I only care about my side." You literally have to manipulate people sometimes to get them to listen. I literally am writing a character who her whole thing is actively manipulating people to get everyone to see eye to eye and get along, which also makes her very difficult to write because that is a masking thing in my case aaaaugh

For me, literal and obvious visual symbolism fits in the same way as how you describe using music. When words aren’t enough and you can essentially break or force a pause in the world to allow a musical number to express feelings, the same can be said for the realm of the imagination, to visualise the scene in a way that otherwise wouldn’t fit the reality. In this case the video is doing both.
I can see an official video on vivzie's channel of you just explaining what film language is to people who just don't get it. Maybe as an april fool stuff to troll haters. Or as a genuine piece of teaching basics of visual media litteracy
So one additional layer to the Blitzø-as-the-moon that I like... It's the idea that not just is Blitzø the moon, but Stolas is represented by the Earth, and by extension, Via is the sun. Via brought light to his life, and his life orbited her for pretty much his entire adult existence. And Stolas is himself very powerful (represented by all the life on Earth). However, none of that life would be possible without both the sun and the moon. The moon is so much smaller, trapped in the Earth's gravity where it orbits, and has no life on its surface. However, without the moon life on Earth wouldn't exist-- the moon stabilizes the Earth's rotation and generates the tides, which gives us consistent weather patterns and water movement. Life couldn't exist, especially not up on the surface, without those.
I love that, when their colors "mix", Stolas' blue/purple and Blitz' red don't make a deeper purple, but both meet at the opposite side of the color wheel in a gross yellow. Maybe to symbolize three relationship's toxicity?
I feel like it makes sense why Stolas and Blitz won't just talk it out. Stolas is scared of losing that relationship that made him feel alive and wanted. Blitz sees no reasons to change the transactional and casual dynamic, it makes sense to that it is what it is. Things do not have to be perfectly, methodologically logical, and calculated. But even with emotions and impulses included, they can make sense. Stolas and Blitz seem to not exactly know each other. Even in texts we seen it was mostly about their monthly hook-up and hardly any conversation about what happened when they last saw each other. So they do not have information to understand each other the way we do. Like Stolas doesn't know about what happened to all imp circus and what it costed Blitz. Stolas has those countless gaps of information he can only fill up with guesses. So he can't reach him or see him in detail 'cos he knows on some level how little he knows about Blitz...but he wants that imp any way.

I know you've called out Moxxie as being potentially autistic-coded in past videos, do you see any of that in Stolas too? Blitzø is also sometimes thought to be ADHD-coded (although I think now after Apology Tour that's trended more into BPD).
For my two cents I prefer when you pause in the middle of things (even songs) and discuss whatever you find interesting rather than watching something all the way through and then going back to talk about it.

For me, literal and obvious visual symbolism fits in the same way as how you describe using music.
When words aren’t enough and you can essentially break or force a pause in the world to allow a musical number to express feelings, the same can be said for the realm of the imagination, to visualise the scene in a way that otherwise wouldn’t fit the reality.
In this case the video is doing both.
I can see an official video on vivzie's channel of you just explaining what film language is to people who just don't get it.

So one additional layer to the Blitzø-as-the-moon that I like... It's the idea that not just is Blitzø the moon, but Stolas is represented by the Earth, and by extension, Via is the sun. Via brought light to his life, and his life orbited her for pretty much his entire adult existence. And Stolas is himself very powerful (represented by all the life on Earth). However, none of that life would be possible without both the sun and the moon. The moon is so much smaller, trapped in the Earth's gravity where it orbits, and has no life on its surface. However, without the moon life on Earth wouldn't exist-- the moon stabilizes the Earth's rotation and generates the tides, which gives us consistent weather patterns and water movement. Life couldn't exist, especially not up on the surface, without those.
I love that, when their colors "mix", Stolas' blue/purple and Blitz' red don't make a deeper purple, but both meet at the opposite side of the color wheel in a gross yellow. Maybe to symbolize three relationship's toxicity?

I feel like it makes sense why Stolas and Blitz won't just talk it out. Stolas is scared of losing that relationship that made him feel alive and wanted. Blitz sees no reasons to change the transactional and casual dynamic, it makes sense to that it is what it is. Things do not have to be perfectly, methodologically logical, and calculated. But even with emotions and impulses included, they can make sense.
Stolas and Blitz seem to not exactly know each other. Even in texts we seen it was mostly about their monthly hook-up and hardly any conversation about what happened when they last saw each other. So they do not have information to understand each other the way we do. Like Stolas doesn't know about what happened to all imp circus and what it costed Blitz. Stolas has those countless gaps of information he can only fill up with guesses. So he can't reach him or see him in detail 'cos he knows on some level how little he knows about Blitz...but he wants that imp any way.

the whole "human communication is inherently imperfect" rant at 52:50 and the DIRECT CALLING OUT of autistic people who struggle with communication REALLY fucking hit me. goddamn Skyen with the profoundly affecting takes EVERY TIME.
one common interpretation I've seen is that Stolas is autistic-coded and Blitzø is BPD-coded. I'd really love to hear your thoughts on this (if you have any, I imagine you might o_o). I know you've called out Moxxie as being potentially autistic-coded in past videos, do you see any of that in Stolas too? Blitzø is also sometimes thought to be ADHD-coded (although I think now after Apology Tour that's trended more into BPD).
For my two cents I prefer when you pause in the middle of things (even songs) and discuss whatever you find interesting rather than watching something all the way through and then going back to talk about it.

I honestly find it amusing how surprised Skyen's Discord chat was that he's picking up on how Stolas and Blitzo's miscommunications are going to inevitably lead to conflict. The show wasn't exactly being subtle about projecting was was coming.
