As a newscast director of a smaller market TV station, I can confirm that the production department, the people that actually make the show go, get paid peanuts. Come 2025 we are going to be making minimum wage for high skill positions. The parent company is trying to save face on the financial front by instating a hiring freeze when stations like mine are losing people left and right and we have to work significantly understaffed. I have no sympathy for these puppets who make more in a year than what I will ever see in my lifetime.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but hearing this, it crossed my mind that maybe you're seeing this whole situation from a commoner's perspective. I don't want to offend, but since people at the bottom live and renegotiate their contracts, people at the top live a different reality. They want more money and will receive more money for the contract they have with the clauses that allow for contract renegotiations and percentage salary increases, regardless of whether the company is doing well. And they would probably fire the rest at the bottom to keep those contracts, that's what I think.
For me I started to not watch tv when I got out of the main stream news and was curious about what type of oppinion and news that other people were brodcasting and at that time it woke me up and to have all the doors opening up where I have options and with that I have more of the sides of the story so then I am impowered to form my own oppinion. thank you ... thats why we need as a society to allways strive to see both sides of the story....
