Thank you for your reaction! This footage is from the 2017 One More Light studio sessions. The guys always liked to record home videos. Thankful that Mike and the guys are releasing these B-side songs in honor of Chester. They know we loved him in life and miss him terribly. Chester, our Chaz, was pure love. Seeing him smile hurts my heart cuz we didnt know the full extent going on behind that smile. I hope we are making him proud.
Hey MsLivy! Thanks for the comments. This song was incredible. It was great to hear him sing again. Still a heartbreaking thing all these years later. Hope you come back for more music.
This is from 2016. I love watching this music video because it shows Chester doing what he loved doing other than being on stage, with his fans, and being with his family and friends. I especially love the part where Chester is playing the guitar and then smiles. I think they keep them short so that the listener doesn't get bored with the song. Also if you do shorter songs you can fit more songs in a 90 minute concert. 2 weeks after was released it has 5.5 million views on TH-cam. It is definitely a Linkin Park favorite.
Thank you so much for sharing your reaction to this song, as well as your analysis ❤ I don't have the same vocabulary as you do; I've always tried to describe their "signature sound" as having this full, spaced out auditory landscape. Sometimes when bands add "more" to a sound, it feels cluttered, chaotic, like instruments compete to be heard. With Linkin Park, you have a rich sound that still feels harmonic. Many elements to their sound might be fairly simple, but the final product feels complexly put together. Chester's voice, with it's high bright sound, stands out well from most instruments; not competing, but filling out a different part of the landscape, a different niche. There's other aspects of the band that I admire, but this is certainly also one of them. If you haven't yet heard it, Waiting For The End is a great example, one of their best songs in my opinion ❤
That "Fire" playout gives this song the catchy sing along section which helps make it popular. I was listening to the Police doing Sending Out an SOS, and that phrase is repeated SO many times, but it makes you want to sing along. I actually didn't like his little raspy tone on the final note, preferring a more clean tone, but it's such a short and small thing that it really is virtually an indifference. I never followed much of Linkin Park, and heck, some of their songs are 20 years old now, but I am familiar with their more popular songs. Never had heard this one before, I guess it was recorded in 2017 which is why it features Chester's vocals.
yeah it was a unique song and The Police Sending OUt and SOS is a classic. Lots of repeated lyrics in that one too. So catchy it makes you want to sing it for sure Guy. I have an Aliz song recorded. Hoping to get it edited soon.
Yes Linkin Park 😄 @Bob: but I still have a question for you 🙂 you did Band Maid and Lovebites - you never did Babymetal. You did Nightwish, but never reacted to Epica. WHY?
Hey Bob! Thanks for the question. I’m just trying to make my way through the list of songs that were suggested. There’s so many. I’ve been working on a discord server and a Patreon page that will setup a better way of getting videos out that people want to see and have a say in. I hope this answers your question. I do have those groups on the list.
