That gives me a *theory:* What if the alternate reality Blaze is from is a *bad future? And somehow sonic perished with the original emeralds, but the SOL Emeralds reformed from what fragments were left?*
I bought Sonic Rush in an airport shop when I was moving from the east to west coast, but something felt wrong when I started playing it. I felt really confused about Blaze, like I was already supposed to know who she was, but they weren't really introducing her. I pulled the cartridge out & looked at it to find it was Sonic Rush Adventure inside a Sonic Rush box. Just a weird story.
Once my brother and I rented what we thought was The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds at Family Video (the box said it was and everything) but it was actually Majora's Mask 3D.

Thank you so much for shedding light on Sonic Rush Adventure I feel like EVERYONE overlooks that game I mean one TH-camr made a very recent video and they mentioned Sonic Rush and complained that there should be a sequel where Sonic goes to her dimension _HELLOOOOO????_ Sonic Rush Adventure???
"She was a princess that did her fucking job. *cuts to a picture of Princess Elise* THAT DID HER FUCKING JOB. *cuts to some footage of hyper/super Blaze* And was from another dimension. *cuts to a picture of Sonic '06's box art* ANOTHER DIMENSION *brief silence* and she had fire powers too." Great job, Johnny. (GG-G-GGGG-GGG) I loved the video and that bit, too. XD
Johnny's humor has gotten amazing as time's gone by "A princess that does her fucking job...THAT DOES HER FUCKING JOB and is from another dimension, ANOTHER DIMENSION" "Okayokay, fucking stop" His hatred of the halfpipe
+Griffon Rush and Colors DS are my favorite of the three. I didn't enjoy Rush Adventure as much, probably since I didn't play it as much as Rush and Colors DS.
I think Sonic Rivals retconned Silver's arrival. Or Sonic 06 retconned Rivals. Either way, I think it's more widely accepted that Silver makes his canonical debut in Rivals rather than 06, despite 06 being the better known game
Sonic rush adventure imo is my favorite sonic game of all time. I kinda have a problem with saying, "This kinda game play is something I expect out of an RPG, not a 2d sonic game." This game was different, and that was the point. It had wonderful characters, super amazing levels and music, and the replayability was really there. It had sections that felt like auto pilot, but every level had branching paths that required skill and precise movement to get through. And the sailing? It was great! It was so genius how they handled the free roam open world sailing element, and it truely gave the game a sense of vastness while not being overwhelming. Sailing the submarine and the hovercraft is fun, and the battle ship isn't far behind. The text is alright. I admit that there is some unnecessary text, but there isn't a single RPG that doesn't have that. It's a matter of how much you actually personally enjoy the game. And the level design OH MY GOD it was so clever. I loved everything about it. Sonic rush adventure is by far my favorite sonic game.
Johnny: She was a princess that did her fucking job *shows Princess Elise* THAT DID HER FUCKING JOB. and was from another dimensions *shows Sonic 06 boxart* ANOTHER DIMENSION. Don't know why that got a chuckle out of me but good job on doing so Johnny. ^_^
I agree. Gameplay is the same but that doesn't make it a 3rd in the series. Sonic 06 gameplay is similar to Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, with just other characters added, but that doesn't make it the 3rd game in that series. Yes Tails is completely different, but Tails gameplay was different between SA1 and SA2, what makes those two the same series? The creators state that they are, and use mostly the same gameplay mechanics, characters, and plenty of storyline aspects continue on from the first game. Similar controls and level design alone does not make a game a sequel. Blaze doesn't even come from a different world in the Sonic Colours universe, and nothing from the other Sonic Rush games is even referenced.
@@mmiw134 There is actually one reference in Colours DS that calls back to Rush Adventure. Tails asks Blaze how Marine is doing after one of the Sweet Mountain missions is completed.
I honestly really liked this game when it came out, and honestly, this is the best game to play as Blaze, whom has been one of my favourite characters since. I don't play as much these days since better games have come and gone since then. Blaze was my favourite to play as in Sonic 06; she was one of the highlights for sure. The soundtrack for Rush was pleasing and I enjoyed it at least. Luckily Johnny has pretty much explained everything I feel about the Rush Trilogy. That's why I've subscribed and watched his videos for as long as I have :) Love you, Johnny as always. Well done on this video
Sonic Colours on the DS was the first Sonic game I ever played, and to hear it praised so well gives me nostalgic happiness like nothing else. Still one of my favourite video games of all time to this day.
Hey everyone. Once again. This is gonna be a long comment so be ready to do some reading. If you read all this, thank you! So, I may not be the only one here but I've played and beaten all three DS games mentioned in this video. And since I like all three of them, I've decided to speak my thoughts and experiences on all three. This here is my thoughts on the second game mentioned in the video. So here we go! Sonic Rush Adventure: In my eyes, the sequel no one really asked for but for what it is, it does its job well as like a dual screen version of "Sonic Advance 5". If you'd like to call it that. This game was introduced to me by a friend I met and interacted with in the summer. His name was Dylan and he was 8 years old at the time. I was 12. We met when our fathers was building a restaurant and was under construction. We had a blast hanging out and made the most of our time. There was one thing we both had in common: We were Sonic Fanboys. Sadly, each day, we had to depart. But we knew we were gonna meet again. So we did a DS trade. I gave him my copy of "Sonic Colors" and he gave me his copy of "Sonic Rush Adventure". We said we're gonna clear out our file so we can experience it with new eyes. To make a long story short, we played the crap out of the game we had for our DS's and we loved them. For the most part. Now, maybe it's just me. But I was wrapped up in the story and found it to be pretty interesting. I didn't mind the text scenes at all. I bet this is REALLY just me. For I love Marine the raccoon! Sonic and Blaze are great characters and especially the rest of the people on the island but Marine really stuck out to me the most. I saw my own self in her; she was just relatable to me. Gameplay wise, I saw the similarities with this game and the first "Sonic Rush". The boost system, the 2D sidescrolling, the switching between screens, the list goes on. However, I saw some improvements. The zones were a bit more interactive and creative and the bosses felt more action-y. My favorites had to be the one in Machine Labyrinth, Haunted Ship and Blizzard Peaks. And my thoughts would not be complete without mentioning the soundtrack of the game which out of everything in each Sonic game, they nail that perfectly. This game is no exception! Sadly, if you wanna enjoy the awesome soundtrack, you'll have to complete the main game to unlock the sound test or look it up on TH-cam. The best ones, to my ears, are from Plant Kingdom, Machine Labyrinth, Blizzard Peaks, Waterbike, Submarine, Big Swell (Final Boss), Deep Core (Extra Boss) and the credits music. Speaking of which, the only two issues I have for this game is Sky Babylon, for being unfairingly hard and tedious, and looking for the Special stages with Sonic. I do enjoy how you can use the stylus and bottom screen to draw paths to get where you need to go ( Nice job making good use of the touch screen) but it's a time waster making a line and going on that line to hopefully find Johnny there and race him to the Chaos Emerald. What's worse: You have no idea how difficult it's gonna be! Usually, a special stage gets harder when you move to the next zone or place, right? Why doesn't it do that for this game?! Well, anyways, at least it's easy to get the Sol Emeralds with Blaze. But trust me when I say the struggle is worth it when you unlock the extra boss and hear its music. Overall, Sonic Rush Adventure is a pretty good game that is solid and very enjoyable. I'll say this is "Sonic Advance 4 and a half" on a different console. ( Thank you all so much for reading this and I'll be saying my thoughts on Sonic Colors soon.)
Yeah personally Sonic Rush Adventure took me a long time to complete since I was younger, but I lived it to death. Its not my favourite Sonic game (that one goes to Mania) but it's an exciting adventure. I even liked the sailing because it brought something new to the series and it was rather enjoyable sailing around at the speed of sound on the jetski.
Personally, I've always seen 06 as Blaze's origin story. After 06, she gets trapped in the rush dimension, stuff happens, she becomes Princess, forgets about Sonic having only met him once briefly without speaking, gets ducked back into Sonics world, and there you go.
@@yilvoxe4017 I say Rush Sonic and 06 Sonic are just dimensional counterparts. Rush and Rush Adventure is in the Rush dimension while 06 is a erased event in the Main dimension.
Yes. In 2012 Takashi Iizuka said that Sonic Rush Is Blaze's true backstory and she is from the Sol Dimension. That means Sonic 06 never happened on her part. And thank god for that.
Ozgar Thunderhammer he did say he would cover that on its own, but he made it sound like the racing games would be the last of this marathon. Maybe he forgot? Hopefully he remembered eventually...
Who ever placed those rings in Sonic's first world is a monster. THOSE RINGS. They're right before the twisty things so If you jump to grab them out of instinct you fall through and die
Well, Sonic Colors DS turned out much better than I was expecting. Because nobody talked about, I just assumed it was "there", not really good or bad. I'm happy to see it turn so good. I may also need to get Rush, since it looks fun based off what I've played from my friend and the BSC run. I'll pass on Rush Adventure though... Anyways, looking forward to the racing retrospective.
“Rush here, rush here, don’t die here, and ohhh fuck my hand” I HAVE BEEN PLAYING THIS GAME SINCE IT CAME OUT I have restarted it so many times I can’t even count and that is the most true statement I have ever heard. Literally ever
I definitely agree on Rush Adventure, for the most part. Recently played it a while back, and while I didn't mind grinding the materials (because the stages were fun, for the most part), all the other stuff just feels like it was just added, to add meat to the game. I haven't played Rush or Colors DS in a while, though, but I remember liking them more, tbh.
Sonic CD: Sonic Boom / Toot Toot Sonic Warrior Sonic Adventure: It Doesn't Matter Sonic Adventure 2: Live And Learn Shadow the Hedgehog: I Am Sonic '06: His World Sonic Rush Adventure: A New Venture Sonic Unleashed: Unlimited Possibilities Sonic Colours: Reach For The Stars Sonic Rush: THE ENTIRE FUCKING SOUNDTRACK
Back when Rush Adventure first came out, 2 days after I got it I dislocated my knee, and had to stay at home for over a week. I played the game nearly all day everyday, and got really good at it. I didn't know the hand-held version of Colours was like Rush, I wish I had got it now.

Today's gonna be a good day
Sonic Rush is, & has always been my favorite Sonic game of all time.
Wait, the homing attack was in Rush 1? Never noticed.
Yeah it was Sonic only and hidden in the R button when you jump manually. Unreliable at best. I love Rush but the homing attack was god awful.
Sonic Advance 3 is my fave and i'm not nostalgic to it what so ever!!!
Colors DS for me. But Rush comes 2nd. It's still good.
"She was a princess that did her fucking job. *cuts to a picture of Princess Elise* THAT DID HER FUCKING JOB. *cuts to some footage of hyper/super Blaze* And was from another dimension. *cuts to a picture of Sonic '06's box art* ANOTHER DIMENSION *brief silence* and she had fire powers too."
Great job, Johnny. (GG-G-GGGG-GGG) I loved the video and that bit, too. XD

ALRIGHT!
Johnny's humor has gotten amazing as time's gone by
"A princess that does her fucking job...THAT DOES HER FUCKING JOB and is from another dimension, ANOTHER DIMENSION"
"Okayokay, fucking stop"
His hatred of the halfpipe
big the cat > all sonic characters
No but I'd unironically rank him higher than a lot of others
Aww, Sonic Rush Adventure is my favorite. :(
Johnny's brand of humor is the freaking best and I am here for it. I got back into playing Sonic because I marathonned your reviews.
OOH YEAH! My favorite of the Sonic handheld games!
ThatCubeGamer Rush, Adventure, or Colors?
+Griffon Rush and Colors DS are my favorite of the three. I didn't enjoy Rush Adventure as much, probably since I didn't play it as much as Rush and Colors DS.
ThatCubeGamer Personally, I enjoyed the entire trilogy. Heck I have Rush and Colors but not Adventure. 😫
Me too. I so love the Rush Series.
yes
The Sonic Rush Trilogy: When 2D Sonic tried to go as fast as the 3D one.
Ace Sock Vims Its the other way around
Bro Unleashed came after Rush Adventure
Rush is the OG, the precursor to boost game play. Unleashed is what spawned from rush.
cixlo and Sonic Advance 2 and 3 are the prototypes to it.
JOHNNY WTF I GOTTA GO TO WORK IN 20 MINUTES
Don't TH-cam and drive.
"She was a princess that did her fucking job- THAT DID HER FUCKING JOB- and was from another dimension- ANOTHER DIMENSION."
That intro... NOSTALGIA MODE INGAGED
UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT!
Sonic Rush Adventure is my favourite 2D Sonic game of all time
Understandable
TWIP Same.
*Gives you a thumbs up*.
I like Rush Adventure to I like all the Rush games equally tbh
It's my second, only being beaten by Sonc The Hedgehog 3. (and by that I mean Sonic 3 Complete)
I want Johnny to respond but I don't know how to.
Don't know how to what?
SomecallmeJohnny O shit waddup
+SomecallmeJohnny
johnny what about sonic battle?

SomecallmeJohnny crap you got baited...
I think Sonic Rivals retconned Silver's arrival. Or Sonic 06 retconned Rivals. Either way, I think it's more widely accepted that Silver makes his canonical debut in Rivals rather than 06, despite 06 being the better known game
Well 06 writes the entirety of its own plot out of existence at the end so technically the Silver of 06 doesn't exist outside that game.
"That did her fucking job."
"THAT DID HER FUCKING JOB!"
"And who names their henchman Johnny? That's an asshole's name."
-somecallmejhonny
Huh, I never thought Sonic Colors on the DS could be part of the Sonic Rush Trilogy.
Mind = *Blown*
I love the Rush games.
TOO BLACK. TOO STRONG.
Love me some Sonic Rush.
Agreed man. Such great Sonic games, but criminally unnoticed (as far as I know).
MegaGamerman16 Unfortunately Rush came out the same day as Shadow the Hedgehog so shame people ignore the good games that came out.
I wish the Shadow Game never existed, tbh.
I consider it a camp masterpiece.
Sonic rush adventure imo is my favorite sonic game of all time. I kinda have a problem with saying, "This kinda game play is something I expect out of an RPG, not a 2d sonic game."
This game was different, and that was the point.
Minus the fact that it's a huge improvement from the first release, the storyline was pretty bland though.
How is Rush Adventure different?
*cough cough* unleashed, bashed for being “different” on release
Just because it's different, doesn't always mean it's an good thing if it's not done right.
I predict his final sonic games he will review is sonic chronicles and a re review of sonic unleashed
Calling it right now, Johnny's going to look at Sonic Battle and Sonic Chronicles for the end of the marathon.
Sonic Colours is not a sequel to Sonic Rush Adventure, same timeline yes, but it doesn't take place directly after Sonic Rush Adventure.
Nathan Evans He didn't say it was, he said it was a sequel in terms of the core gameplay (minus the wisp powers)
It was a spiritual successor
So was Sonic 06 and Sonic Heroes for the Adventure Series. Sonic Heroes was literally CALLED that.
Sonic Rush Adventure is my first video game I've played and beaten
Could you not make comments that and just make them a sentence
Make a video
I loved Sonic Rush Adventure too, but then my sister sold it at a store without me knowing it.
7:56 yeah nothing great could come from anyone called Johnny 😂
Sonic Rush was my first game I ever played. I still have it to this day :D
Personally, I've always seen 06 as Blaze's origin story. After 06, she gets trapped in the rush dimension, stuff happens, she becomes Princess, forgets about Sonic having only met him once briefly without speaking, gets ducked back into Sonics world, and there you go.
I like to think of '06 as Sonic's fever dream.
@@yilvoxe4017 I say Rush Sonic and 06 Sonic are just dimensional counterparts. Rush and Rush Adventure is in the Rush dimension while 06 is a erased event in the Main dimension.
no
Sonic Rush was my first introduction to the Sonic series.
Mine was Sonic 3&Knuckles
Sonic 1 on Genesis was mine.
I know, I'm a boomer.
Blaze is the best waifu. if you disagree, you are clearly wrong
wormsega2011 stop
if furries are ur thing than that's just you I'm not gonna put you down........for now
wormsega2011 I see what you did there...
Dragon Phantom of DEATH! "if you disagree, you are clearly wrong" get out
Mikael Fernandes Fucking TRY ME.
Sonic Rivals? Ohboy... Have fun with explaining those Time Travel Shenanigans with Silver & Blaze...
Thankfully Blaze's backstory issues are already fixed by Takashi Iizuka. Silver and Eggman Nega on the other hand..
kaskummaa Wait, it has?
Yes. In 2012 Takashi Iizuka said that Sonic Rush Is Blaze's true backstory and she is from the Sol Dimension. That means Sonic 06 never happened on her part. And thank god for that.
what happened to Sonic Battle?
Ozgar Thunderhammer he did say he would cover that on its own, but he made it sound like the racing games would be the last of this marathon. Maybe he forgot? Hopefully he remembered eventually...
Ozgar Thunderhammer I..LOVE THAT FUCKING GAME!!!
Who ever placed those rings in Sonic's first world is a monster. THOSE RINGS. They're right before the twisty things so If you jump to grab them out of instinct you fall through and die
She was a princes that did her fucking job-THAT DID HER FUCKING JOB
I felt that a lot
Then Somecallmejohnny shows Elise as he said did her fucking job lmao!!!
Johnny, I don't want to make a joke but your talking speed is a bit rushed.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh. *high five*
AbsolutePCGamer *Claps and freaks out like in crowd does when player does tricks in Sonic Rush/Rush Adventure*
Let's not PUNish Johnny with our puns! Who knows how he'll react to them!
ANd here Johnny is, reviewing my childhood.
“Rush here, rush here, don’t die here, and ohhh fuck my hand” I HAVE BEEN PLAYING THIS GAME SINCE IT CAME OUT I have restarted it so many times I can’t even count and that is the most true statement I have ever heard. Literally ever
“*That did her fucking job*...”
Got itttt
I definitely agree on Rush Adventure, for the most part. Recently played it a while back, and while I didn't mind grinding the materials (because the stages were fun, for the most part), all the other stuff just feels like it was just added, to add meat to the game.
I haven't played Rush or Colors DS in a while, though, but I remember liking them more, tbh.
sonic rush adventure was my favorite. I personally loved the RPG progressive elemenst
So did I however I got a lot of AA ranks.
Blaze is one of THE best characters in the Sonic franchise and needs her own game!
0:58 I love this part. It highlights the issues with 06 in about 5 seconds.
Seriously feels like Captain Whiskers design looks like "What if Big got roboticized & turned into a pirate"
Why are you complaining about grinding? Grinding has been part of Sonic since adventure 2.
The Red Guy grinding as in an rpg, not rail grinding
Its a joke.
The Red Guy Didn't read like that, my bad
XD
technically it's been around since the original Sonic Adventure
Sonic CD: Sonic Boom / Toot Toot Sonic Warrior
Sonic Adventure: It Doesn't Matter
Sonic Adventure 2: Live And Learn
Shadow the Hedgehog: I Am
Sonic '06: His World
Sonic Rush Adventure: A New Venture
Sonic Unleashed: Unlimited Possibilities
Sonic Colours: Reach For The Stars
Sonic Rush: THE ENTIRE FUCKING SOUNDTRACK
Sonic heroes entire soundtrack too!!!!
Don't sleep on Sonic Riders and Zero Gravity.
Just one thing, it's not Unlimited Possibilities, it's Endless Possibility. No plural in possibility
Secret rings has a lot of vocal themes too
Good to know I wasn’t the only one who played and loved sonic colors DS
U bet your not Sonic Colors DS is the best version of Sonic Colors
Back when Rush Adventure first came out, 2 days after I got it I dislocated my knee, and had to stay at home for over a week. I played the game nearly all day everyday, and got really good at it. I didn't know the hand-held version of Colours was like Rush, I wish I had got it now.
I love your new reviews! The pace, the jokes, the text, its jsut so perfect !
