i like the part at the beginning where the interviewer announces the name of the event they're at and bo looks off into the distance like he's reading a banner of the name lol
I love this movie. I didn’t know Bo Burnham when I first saw this movie but after I saw his 2020 Netflix special (Inside?) I love this movie on a whole other level because of it. What a lovable man, and how much more devastating the role of his character in this movie because of it. Delicious!
Bo’s “history” with Adam Brody is that they’re Eskimo brothers because of Lorene Scafaria. The problem is Bo thinks he’s not famous even though he is, and he can say little comments like that and no one’ll get it. Well, actually, you are famous, Bo. And we get it. Be careful lmao
Thank you for Making This movie. It helped me heal and realize I made the right choice and not pressing charges because I’m pretty sure it’s the same university that this movie is referring to....
Speaking up, raising complaint, etc. is not to win. It's to tell your truth, n maybe help a future person in their case or by motivating masses mentally. Ofc you don't owe anyone anything n maybe years passed for your time, n hence the crime expires. But from now on, the least we could do is speak, let our word get recorded, make it a solid physical thing. You don't even have to fight the case. Whatever we do is NOT for us, it's for the future.
Director articulate herself like Kate Winslet, probably because they are both British :) however it seems she is also as talented as Kate. For a debut this was a very good movie and Kate also started out kind of in ,,Titanic" which turn out to be a hit. So I wish that Emerald and Carey will get their Oscars as they deserve it.
@@fullcoursemeal5925 I think he's in a transitional mental state right now. He's doing what he's happy with right now, film. I think Make Happy was a fitting farewell for the moment, an admission of his mental instability and movies like Eighth Grade and Promising Young Woman are rehabilitating him in a sense. Bringing him back to a place where he would feel comfortable laughing again.
@@elongatedmanforever1252 Okay, so you don't have actual proof of him saying "All men are rapists", you're just assuming that because he's in a movie that's giving a voice to females and trying to subvert the power dynamics within society that he's automatically some anti-men Social Justice Warrior that's just going abandon his anti-PC comedic style whenever he does return. Question. If both the men and women are drunk. Aren’t they both victims of themselves for getting blitzed. Why does the woman become a victim when she chose to get drunk, while the man becomes a predator because he got drunk
I hate the idea of this film. I hate rapists and child abusers. But this film tries to suggest only shy nice guys do rapes. Well that is utter nonsense. Many bullies do rape and wife beating. I had a friend who was bullied at school. And the bully was charged with sexually molesting a young girl. There is a guy who- bullied people at school near where I live and he was found later to be a child murderer. Plus I know one bully at my school, who was charged with rape. And I have one female friend who was sexually abused by her bullying stepdad, and she hated being bullied at school too. By the way, only evil people fancy bullies.
I don’t agree. This film is about the normalisation of sexual abuse and rape in our culture, where beating and obviously hurting a woman is mostly seen as bad, but rape is often defined as not taking advantage, but as physically overpowering Someone obviously struggling and crying for help. I think it’s a very important issue to talk about and work through in this way.
@@Chocolettino Citations needed. There isn't a "normalisation" of abuse or rape, particularly in the West, or to put it more bluntly , the existence of a so-called "rape culture" which is really what you're getting at and is one of the woke Left talking points. It's also funny and pathetic at the same time that the director didn't even have the guts to say "men" instead of "people" in that little synopsis she did at the beginning, like we don't know which demographic she's referring to probably because of PC culture, which is ironic. And speaking of citations, watch Steven Crowder's "Rape culture is myth" where he provides some and debunks this nonsense.
Its definitely not for everyone either people will love it or straight up hate it and that's fine everyone is entitled to their opinion without someone jumping down their throat lol........

I love Bo's chaotic good energy. He seems to always break everyone he's with
All the times Bo made Carey Mulligan laugh

Glad to see Bo moving on and doing other projects in the film industry
Considering Inside I wondered if he had broken somewhere along the way.
She's a doll, great energy, intelligence, class. Love her in The Crown.
Also she’s great in Call The Midwives and as well as her writing with Killing Eve.
It was actually pretty refreshing to not hear any of the questions I expected to hear. Great interviewer

Holy shit THATS where I know Carey! Drive is a brilliant masterpiece of a film
Well she was also Daisy in the Great Gatsby remake and one of the sisters in the Keira Knightly Pride and Prejudice. Been a fan awhile! Lol
