- On May 22nd, ROLI showcased a Seaboard ensemble at Abbey Road Studios, featuring legendary keyboardist Jordan Rudess, accompanied by Marco Parisi and Heen-Wah Wai, and Ray Hearne at the drums.
The song was composed for ROLI by Nathan Stornetta and Jordan Rudess. It is named after bass player extraordinaire Tony Levin, for its incredible bass and synth sounds.

The whole song is epic... but that guitar solo is just... aaaaaaah!
Good to be Jordan Rudess. His face can be seen which makes him work a joy and a pleasure.
I always wanted to play vibrato this way on keyboard. Now it is possible. Awesome.
This is fantastic. Such great groove and that instrument looks just very cool. Very expressive. Love it.
Amazing ❤
You guys rocked it! Thanks so much!
great show!! Marco Parisi, you killed it!! amazing!
I ordered one for my 17 yr old son who is a musician, Can't wait!
And?
My son was dissapointed and sent it back. The software took up a ton of space on his Mac, and he had issues once the software loaded. Since his primary instrument is guitar, he decided it was not worth the money. Great idea, I think they need to work the bugs out.
Sharon Catter Better invest in guitar then ;)
I love to see those guys having great fun playing that stuff. I enjoy it : )
Love it! Great work guys!
If only I had the money to buy one...
Awesome! Never seen these before!
Just wow!
wow..so cool !! I love Roli, too.
Great performance.
I can't wait to get one in August!!
omg I want one!
Very cool!
DT+Haken+Studio3, unreal but very fantastic song... and obviously.. Rudess the magician is absolutely fenomenal.
Ok, got too excited.. I answered my own question. \m/ Hope one day the common man could afford this wonderful instrument.
The audience has no idea what they just heard
only knowing him(Rudess case) or at least giving his hand(my case) would be enough to know the escence of Tony Levin. Beautiful piece.
Very nice guys !!! =)
NIce... very Nice........
Estos niveles son muy altos!!!!!!!
Shit. Jordan on fire AGAIN. Insane.
0:43 - Richard and Charlie, followed up next by Ray :D
Haken
Super!, ;-)
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🌞👏👏👏👏
I have only one question - where I can get this sounds/patches? ))) Sounds is great!
Are these haken continuums they're using??? Amazing!!
woohoo
Maaaan!! I'm counting down the days for when I can buy a Seaboard! I just wish it had standard midi ports! Not just usb-midi. :-(
4tkStudios I think you can get a USB to midi adapter.
Standard midi won't recognize the MPE inputs from the seaboard. USB midi is literally the only thing it could use
Great way to sell the ROLI.
Does anyone know what patch heen is using at 1:07 ?
So, how do they change their overall sound/instrument? They seem to play with different sounds, without any interface to change it.
There is a big dial flush with top of the unit that can be set to select voices. It has little LED lights for feedback.
Джордан наш Рудесс как обычно жжОт))
Самый нетривиальный, ИМХО, клавишник из ныне действующих.
Very cool indeed, but where is the UK's finest Sir Jem of Godfrey ? ;-)
Where can I get this song??
Hi Alex, you can get the song from SoundCloud here soundcloud.com/weareroli/seaboard-grand-ensemble-at-abbey-road-tony-levin
Le puse sistema Midi a la guitarra y el futuro dejo de preocuparme.
kinda sounds like liquid tension experiments, very cool
it is very cool, but far away from liquid tension exp.
Half of the audience has no idea what's going on.
Guitarists and bassists may not be "necessary" in the future ... which is "now" ...
but I STILL think it looks kinda cool with them string-playing fools ... ;O)
lots of techniques that you still can't play no keys that you can play on guitar and bass and besides purely because you can achieve it with a keyboard doesn't mean it's better in every situation
future model @4:14
So, these aliens performing the song can come up with a human like looking camouflage, but can't create a realistic replica of the piano? Dafuq.
Hundred grand in Bontemptis and they can't afford a few quid for some plastic chairs? I bet those poor saps paid a fortune to stand about like shop mannequins.
