Always nice to have a tour around. Also showing all "good to have stuff", rat holes, rat feeding station, nice crochet🌻🌻 gifts, the nice plot community🎀, you sitting down with a cup🍵.... Have a great week🌱🌲👋
Hi Emm 👋 I'm so pleased you enjoyed the allotment tour. I made a mental note of all the jobs that need doing 🫣😂 Lovely crochet gift wasn't it, felt so emotional that someone had taken the time to make it for me, so nice of Georgina. Have a fab week ❤️
Thank you for the lovely plot tour Linda. There are always so many jobs on the plot at this time of year. I am building a donated glasshouse which is perfect timing as my polytunnel has given up the ghost due to storm Bert. Onwards and upwards 😊
Sorry to hear about your polytunnel Hadyn but that's fabulous that you have been given a greenhouse. Yes no rest for us gardeners is there even in winter time 😂 Have a lovely weekend ❤️
Hi Linda, oh no! Those rats are a menace! How dare they munch your beans, the weather has been very wet, especially in Wales and flooding, too. Hope your house wasn't flooded. Oh isn't that lovely for one of your viewer Georgina to send you lovely gifts for a lovely lady ❤ lovely plot tour. Always lots of plans and changes. I'm the same too, change things around each seadon, keeps it interesting. Lovely Christmas wreaths. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
Hi Christine 👋 There was flooding in our town but we were very lucky as we live on a hill. The allotments were fine too 👍😀 Yes wasn't that so nice of Georgina to make those lovely items for me. I was very touched by her kindness. Never ending with a garden or allotment isn't it and makes life more interesting. Thank you so much fir all your lovely comments. Have a great week ❤️
Hi Mags 👋 and thank you ❤️ Aren't the lovely sunflower gifts really nice, I was so touched by it 🤩 Those rats in the polytunnel are getting so cheeky 🙄 Do you have any flowers left Mags?.Only a few left for us now after that cold spell but all are acceptable 👍😄 Happy gardening ❤ x
Thanks Danny ❤️ I have someone I'm going to try regarding those rats 🐀 Lets see if it works 🤔 coming on a video bear you soon 😂 The polytunnel is Doug's project, you need to speak to him 😂 Have a great week and see you at The Feel Good Garden Café soon for a cuppa ☕️☕️☕️ ❤️ x
Hi Shirley 👋 Yes far too nice to use for coasters I thought, I'm pleased you like what I did with them. I sowed all my broad beans, pesky rats 🐀 I'll have to buy some more now 🙄 Have a great week ❤️
@@BumblebeeAdventure Hi Sandra and thank you ❤️ Yes weren't the 🌻 sunfliwer gifts really nice. I was so touched that Georgina made them for me. Have a great week ❤️
Our rats go up and under the Darlek bins too😂😂 I don’t think there is anything that will stop them!!! Love a plot tour to see what everyone has in right now. I cut all my celery back last week, and will dig it out soon. It obviously didn’t get enough water and was very stringy and thin stalks. Blitzed some up and froze in ice cube tray for chucking in stews and soups. Won’t grow it next year though. Doug will be busy with the compost bins but once they are done it will all look amazing and you will get your compost production line going ❤ The crocheted gifts are beautiful ❤ how kind of Georgina. What a huge water butt, that’s easier to get your watering can into and so close to the beds too ❤ Be lovely to see the poly tunnel up, but things take time this time of year, due to the weather. How kind of your plot neighbour ❤ Great community get together making wreaths ❤🎉 Thanks Linda for a wonderful tour and insight into your plot plans. Love Allie & Tricia xx ❤
Awww thank you so much Allie and Tricia. My celery must be like yours and that's a great idea to freeze it 😀 I can't wait to see the polytunnel erected We should take bets on when it will be completed 😂 So lovely of Georgina to spend time making my lovely gifts wasn't it. Have a great week both ❤️ xx
Hi Dora 👋 Thank you so much. It's nice to have something green and growing for the winter, isn't it. I've come up with another solution for those cheeky rats 🐀 hope it works! Have a great weekend ❤️ x
Thanks Cheryl, I'm so pleased that we have more cauliflowers growing. Maybe one will be ready for Xmas! Not seen any ladybirds around our ladybird houses but yes would be fab if there's some in there 😀 x
All looks fab Linda and so wonderful to be harvesting in Dec 😮 did we say Dec 😅. You certainly get lots done in the cold and damp. Have a lovely day and stay warm, Ali 🥶🥶🇨🇦
Hi Ali 👋 Thank you but I don't feel that I did do lots really just concentrated on the plot tour. I did notice all the jobs I do need to do though 😅 . I think it's going to be a busy week this week 🙃 😂 Have a great week ❤️ x
Hi Sylvi 👋 Hebes are so easy to take cuttings from and so nice when they turn into plants and flower. Wasn't that a lovely thoughtful gift. Have a great week ❤️
I had the same luck with our brood beans also with rats. I planted them 3 times and had to cover them with insect cloth to protect them. we call them Fava beans here and its my hubbie and sons favorite.
Thank you Pam ❤️ I've bought more broad beans but not sown them yet. Good luck with your broad beans hope the rats stay away from both of our crops. 👍fingers crossed 🤞 Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you 🌲🎅 🎄 🎉🥳❤️
Lovely plot tour Linda, how beautiful are those sunflower gifts 🌻 ❤. Pesky rats 🐀 im sure you will come up with a solution for that though. Be great to see the new polytunnel up you and Doug will have so much growing space. Was such a lovely day at the cabin making the Christmas wreaths too.
@callistacraft Hi Lisa 👋 and thank you ❤️ Hopefully I have a solution for the rats 🐀 coming soon in a video near you 😂 It was a lovely get together wasn't it making the Xmas wreaths. Am I the only one to put mine on the shed? 😂 I can't wait to have the polytunnel up on allotment plot 2 and hide all that rubbish, I mean useful stuff for projects 😂 Have a great week ❤️ x
@Feelgoodgardens mine is up in the house at the moment I'm worried if I put mine on the shed it will end up in the field with the cows 🐄 with the weather we have, was a lovely get together. Hope you have a lovely week too ❤️
Hi Chrissie Yes I know that they don't like being disturbed and Clare is very good on top of everything. I tend to just bung things on the compost heap and leave it to do its own thing. 🫣 I mean to be a good composter but I'm not 😂 Have a great week ❤️
Yes, I enjoyed this. Lovely wreath! The perennial cornflowers, are those invasive in your area? They are here, but I'm still want to grow some because they're beautiful and the bees love them. I'll keep them in pots though, and deadhead so they won't go to seed.
Hi Trold 👋 Thank you 😊 I don't have a problem with perennial cornflowers, I haven't found them too invasive as such but they can spread out if you don't keep them in check. I love them as you say the bees love them too. Have a great week ❤️
I couldn’t garden with rats 😱. The baking soda cornmeal mix is suppose to work for mice and rats. Just do a search and there is one that has several different mixes. Of course you could protect with wire mesh and leave them multiply 😉. Tis the season! We are getting negative windchills going into tomorrow and the winds are gusting now and then flipping to 40+F this weekend. Some on the eastward side of Great Lakes have seen at least 5’ of snow-Glad I’m not in those locations 🥶. I waited too long to rescue what fall veg did start producing 🙄 that’s how it goes. We had some suppose to be topsoil delivered awhile back and it was clay. I found the best thing to break it up was ground up oak leaves. It needs air and tilling helps. I’m not so sure clay is suitable for no till, but found I’m not a fan of that process. We have sandy soil and no slugs, but I did notice them in those two beds with clay because we had an abnormal amount of rain this year.
Rats are a nuisance but I'd rather send them on their way rather than resort to drastic measures. I have something else to try out so hope that works. Geez doesn't sound at all what you'd be expecting top soil to be does it. Not the best of suppliers without a doubt. Expecting gale force winds here too over the next few days so hope the polytunnel can cope with it! Hope the weather is kind to you and everything stays intact. Have a lovely weekend whatever the weather brings ❤️
@ some deal with rats here as well in certain areas. We have recently discovered voles 😱 for the first time in my life and we thought it was so cute 😂 until my spring bulbs were attacked 😡. Sort of like your poor beans. I seen there was a flood recently in your area also…sigh, some states here also this year. Yes, the soil was from a business that was recently taken over by new owners. They do excavating and not a garden shop, but on the flip side the brassicas love clay soil. It sure is different to work with than my native sandy soil-pluses and minuses all around.
It does make you think differently about these wild creatures doesn't it when they go messing around with your crops and bulbs 🙄 That makes sense our brassicas are doing better on plot 2. There is clay underneath the compost we dug in or put on top. Great to look at things in a positive light 😍 😁
Rats love broad beans as I discovered a few years ago when they munched a whole row . War was declared and a solar ultrasonic scarer seems to be doing the job .
Hi George 👋 Great idea 💡 👍 thank you. I've ordered a pack of two battery powered sonic rat scarer. Fingers crossed they do the trick. I need to order more broad beans now grrrr 😂 Have a great week. ❤️

Hiya Linda. The crocheted sunflowers are gorgeous. Those pesky rats 😖. I’m amazed you still have some flowers out. Lovely tour. Take care. Mags.

❤ what you did with the sunflower coasters 😊 You still have so much growing! Rotten rats getting your beans 😢

Your brassicas are looking fantastic, as in the plot! Golly it looked rather cold there that day ❄️❄️
Bloomin rats!

@callistacraft You just have to fix it on the shed properly 😂 Yours was far too nice for a shed though so I'll.let you off 👍😂 xx
Claire at the farm yard garden had similar problem with her compost heap. Sure her solution was to keep disturbing it

I think the cats know the rats 🐀 are there but the rats outsmart them obviously 🙄 x
