      probably cuz the others are older and built with wood while the ones that were left intact were built with stone or cement

      With all due respect, that is just not practical, and new codes won't change the millions of existing houses. One practical code that would have helped is if people in these high-fire areas who have swimming pools were required to add a pump system to help in case of a wild fire.
      The real problem is the corrupt, bloated municipal governments that don't prioritize the actual welfare and safety of the population - but waste their time on overly-complex internal procedures and wasteful pet projects. I've been an architect for over 30 years, (and also lost my own house to an electrical fire.) This fire is a total catastrophe that could have been greatly mitigated if the people in charge were just doing their jobs. Very similar to what happened in Lahaina, here in Hawaii last year- a perfect storm of wind, dry, and lack of preparedness..

    The lone surviving house’s owners are lucky, only in that they will be able to retrieve belongings. The house itself won’t be worth staying in because restoring the damaged water, power and sewer infrastructure necessary for that one resident won’t make any financial sense.

    People keep saying this is the result of a directed energy weapon. It is not the result of a directed energy weapon. It is the result of a normal fire in natural atmospheric conditions.

      Same thing happened in Lahaina. Some places were spared. Maybe because someone fought the fire around it, maybe the building materials were more resistant, or maybe just luckily it didn't catch fire.

    Are the homes that survived built out of concrete or some other fireproof material, or were they just lucky?

    • @jamiebusch9406
      @jamiebusch9406 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I am an architect (and my house burned down) so I have a special interest in the subject... From what I see, the houses that survived did so due to terrain, or a change of wind, and just got lucky. Or unlucky... the last thing you ever want is the only house standing in a burned out neighborhood. There will be no power or water for years, and the entire area is now poisoned with heavy metals and other chemicals from all the computers, electronics, and electric cars that burned.
