As for me.. the 3rd method worked; f11 + delete and without release them I pressed power to turn the pc ON after some seconds It took me to the set up screen and I release everything. I hope my comment helps somebody thank you
Thank you, your comment helped me reboot it. What is missing in Andrew Tan's video is the fact that you need to press and release the power button when holding delete and F11
New method works for me by holding the "delete key, f11 and power button" at the same time. Thanks for your method, it did work on my laptop but through the ideas I get this method
Had to reset moms today. None of these worked for me. For me: 1)shutdown computer 2) turn on and begin pressing esc. Your system manager pops up 3) select f11 to restore/reboot. Thanks for your info much appreciated
Just have to continually press f11 when the pc is off then turn pc on. As soon as you turn pc on hit f11 repeatedly the restore menu will appear, then pick the options you want. It has been the same procedure for years. Easiest way to find out is find out with any laptop, as pc is starting up hit every key from esc to delete. The usual keys are f-8, f-11,Del. ,esc.
I was trying to find a way to factory reset my little brother’s friend’s lab top because he forgot his password, and everything I’ve tried hasn’t worked, but apparently the TH-cam algorithm heard my prays and recommended this video. Thank you sir, you are a lifesaver.
so for me, it was the power button along with the f11 key at the same time, none of you listed methods worked, at least this video gave me an idea. LOL So thank you!!
I have a Stream 11” HD display and I used all three methods you mentioned. It’s been 5 or 6 years since I have used my laptop. I thought when I didn’t remember the password and the three security questions. All I had was a expensive paper weight lol thank you for helping me out 🎉
I have a 2020 Stream laptop I bought brand new in 2020 (from Amazon). What worked for me first try was when the power was off, I held F-11 and pressed the power ON button. Soon as the laptop turned on, screen prompted me to wait. I was able to successfully factory reset my laptop this way. Thanks for your help!
Tried all three options. Got into the recovery section via option 2 and 3 but no option to set back to factory settings. Selected the option i thought it would be but said i did not have enough space to do the reset! I can see other's have had the same problem. So logged in as normal and went to the recovery options via the desktop and choose the option to make a recovery drive. It needs around 7GB. Restarted the laptop and choose to recover from the USB drive i made earlier. Machine is now at 50% recovery so far :-)
Thanks so much Andrew I had to save money and get ac laptop from a pawnshop but your video helped, I tried 1 and 2 😅but 2 was the method that worked for my HP Stream laptop - thanks ready for classes and my Masters Degree!
The best and easiest way to do this will actually work on any windows laptop/computer. Here is method 4: With the computer turned on, navigate to the power options. Once you have the power options pulled up (there are three, shut down, restart, and another one I can’t remember). Press and hold the shift key and click restart while holding it down. The computer will then navigate to the same recovery screen that is shown in the video where you can do this reset from.
Thank you soooooo much! I was sooooo worried that I would have to buy a new one. Thanks to you I didn’t you saved my computer 😊. Delete and the power button work for me. Thanks again, you’re a life saver 😊
I bought this laptop in white and it won't turn on it just kept the saying just one moment found your TH-cam channel and delete F11 worked for me. Thank you very much.
Step 3 worked for me. I have a rebuilt stream and could not remember old password. It sat as a paperweight for several years. Now I have a working laptop I'm going to use for food recipes! Thanks!
Thank you my man!!! I did method one while you were talking and it failed so I missed option two and picked up right at method 3. It didn’t work. I had to rewind your video back some and was shaking my head like this sh); isn’t going to work. delete and power at the same damn time. Thank you thank you!!!
Its saying I need more free space when I try to reset the password and clear everything. Why? Can I not clear everything without an external harddrive?
i modified my friends tiny little netbook laptop by using a script in the github community named "Windows 10 Debloater" by Syncex....... not only it frees cpu usage , but reduces ram usage as well , 1.2 of 2gb before , 0.8 of 2gb after :D storage wise i didnt manage to see a difference , it could be a couple hundred megabytes freed perhaps :)
Thank you so much the power button and delete did the job as i got laptop of family member and they forgot the password but because its chrombook I couldn’t get in to the reset menu but this definitely worked and now it’s resetting while I’m writing this comment ❤
how can i reset my laptop, when I try to reset is it will show "additional free space is needed on the drive where windows is installed. Free up some space and try again" but my laptop no longer have applications... pls help
Hi, thanks for this video. I have the HP stream 14 with 32gb memory. I used your third method but it took me to options for recovery. I believe it will work as I’m doing while I submit this comment. Will update if things go wrong.
None of these got me all the way to actually reset without saying it didnt have enough memory. What DID work was turning it on, when it prompts you to type in password, hold down the SHIFT button and select RESTART from the start menu. Then it will reboot and actually allow you to factory reset. Hope it works.
I need help please I’ve tried every way possible to reset my computer fully and I still can’t it keeps talking about remove storage but when I do it still DOES not work I’m sick of it

Its saying I need more space to completely wipe everything off my computer. I don't want to spend $100 for a hard drive. Any help?
