    This is genuinely my favourite reaction to this - your joy and energy is amazing!! For context it's basically a big F U song to all the toxic "fans" that hated their creative decision on the last two albums to experiment and try new things, moving away from their old darker and heavier style. They got a lot of hate and even death threats for changing. Can't wait for you to react to more of their stuff cause they are one of the greats.

    • @dicodec
      @dicodec  ปีที่แล้ว +51

      Getting death threats for changing your style is wild! That is wrong on multiple levels, you can be a supportive fan and just NOT listen to the new stuff and keeping cranking the old stuff… it is a win win

    • @centralia83
      @centralia83 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @@dicodec couldn’t agree with ya more, when I saw the interview with the vocalist Sam about him getting death threats and some of the comments people were saying stuff like R.I.P. architects, you guys are done and haven’t been the same since Tom died. Or architects died when Tom died. It’s fucking ignorant. It’s insane the shit people said, especially when the metal community acts like we’re one big metal family. Some people just take it too far. These guys are doing what they love to do, and regardless of how much they change. The music is gonna effect someone in a positive way and possibly save their life also. Music has saved my life a few times. Gotten me through depression, and even my ex fiance passing away from cancer. Architects got me through that, because their lead guitarist which was the drummers twin brother. He passed away from cancer. So the music affected me. Especially all our gods have abandoned us and holy hell. Those two albums hit home.

    First time checking out your reactions. I really enjoyed this one, architects is one of my favorite bands. I even loved the last two albums that a lot of people didn’t care for. But I like how ya stop the song and break down the song and show us the instruments on their own from time to time. It’s unique compared to other reactors. Keep up the awesome work, you have a new subscriber now.

  • @gatling216
    @gatling216 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’ve never been huge into them, but I’ve heard a bit of the backlash around Architects and their more recent music. They were some of the OGs for the modern metalcore sound, but their last couple of albums took different paths and fans HATED it. Which, if we’re being honest, is to be expected. If people fall in love with a band’s sound and they take a 180, it’s going to upset folks. The problem is, the community turned weirdly, aggressively hostile. It was pretty disgusting.
    This song, as near as I can tell, is the band’s response. It’s a by the numbers metalcore track that ticks all the boxes for the classic sound. In other words, it’s exactly what the fans wanted. But the lyrics are absolutely scathing. It’s 100% a fuck you, both to the toxic fans and the ones who fell off when they changed their sound.

    Great reaction, my suggestions to get the full scope of their musical journey.
    For very early, almost dillenger like mathcore go with: To the Death
    Midpoint fast and heavey Metalcore: Delete, Rewind
    Or: These Colours don't run
    Next, IMHO peak Architects form: Royal Beggars
    Or: Doomsday
    Newer, so called "Soft" Metalcore (personally I Love this stuff): Animals
    Or: Black Lungs
    From their last album: When we where Young
    Or: a New Moral Low Ground
    But personally I think their Whole Discography is gold.
    Best reaction yet. Keep up the good work.

    This is 100% a fuck you song. The lyrics are dripping with sarcasm. It's sad, really... A lot of people got really bitchy when they started experimenting with industrial metal and melodic metalcore... Even a little Butt Rock. But it got really bad because their guitarist (the drummer's brother) passed away in 2016 and people invoked his name to complain and it got REALLY nasty.

    You gotta check out Sylosis man, Josh Middleton the frontman/lead guitarist was also the architects lead guitarist like the last 5 years or so, he just left architects to go back to Sylosis full time. No offense to architects but Sylosis is on a totally different level. Highly recommend “empyreal” for a classic Sylosis song or if you want a recent one “deadwood”, both songs are absolute bangers, or if you want early Sylosis with just godly riff then “Teras”. One of the absolute best metal bands on the planet
