Check out the music video for Mirror's Edge! The song, "Still Alive" is sung by Swedish pop star Lisa Miskovsky, who is a major gaming aficionado herself.
I think the game hit everyone hard because it feels so lonely but at the same time you feel a connection with the city. There's something beautiful about feeling an understanding with the world around you without having to have a human connection there beside you

Mass Effect? Dead Space? Dragon Age?
Mirror's Edge was never a mainstream success, but to those who cared the game absolutely succeeded and holds a special place in their heart. Mirror's Edge will return someday ❤️
Oh man it feels like yesterday, I loved this game, and the music, well the music was superb. Can't believe it has been 16 years and also it is the first time I watch this video.
no buddy, you aint the only one crying while listening to this nostalgia
In 2023 Im still here Faith ❤
2024 im still here listening the beautiful theme song 😢

And then her heel snapped and she fell.
She would actually just break her neck against the green-screen.
***** XD
Theodore Lloyd OMFG, I didn't notice how well it fit! XD
+Ast vom Baum "Just break her neck" = death xD
XD HAHA
I can’t believe I’ve played this game almost 14 years ago. Such a cool game. This song still reminds me of those days.
2024 and still LOVE it!
my dad passed away a month ago he really loved this song and the game i miss you so much RIP
this song make me cry :') the most beautiful song i know
People that are here in 2023 because either they're discovering the game, want to go back to 2008, or found out the song was removed from Spotify
WAS IT?!
Or they comparing this song with Portal's Still Alive lol
@@ben.taylor THEY STOLE FROM US
Man I was a Sophomore in high school when this came out.. it didn’t seem so at the time but life was so simple back then and I miss it. Adulting has been a great adventure so far but it can also be SO MUCH HARDER than being young. Enjoy being young as much as you possibly can kids.
2012: how did she break that? 2:28
2019: this is art
2022, never knew I cringe I was when I commented this 💀 this song still hits tho
Ah, the memories of playing Mirror's Edge back in 2009 when I first got my PS3 :D
Exactly the same with me! xD
I first played it in2009 on xbox. Now I have it on ps3 :)
2008 was my favorite year and I wanted this game since 2008 (as I got my PS3 and a better graphics card for my PC so that I could run dead space) but I couldn't decide which platform to get it on. Ended up getting it in 2010 (finally)
Hwoarang pc master race ftw
I remember the first time I played it got it on Christmas Day 2008
Even after all these years, its still a good song.
2022 stilll here.
goodvibes
Mirror edge 😭💖
When I was a 11 there was a Music contest where you could sing, Dance or make your own Music. I chose to sing, and i Chose this song. I won. It was litrally One of the Best days of My life
I usually listen to metal, but this song gives me the chills! I love it! ❤️
I remember being in 8th grade and wanting to get this game so bad and when I got it for an early Christmas gift I beat it several times and the fact the heroine was a female this game is always one of the most inspirational games of all time for me.
yeah, when women are the heroines like Lara Croft and they are very strong and everything it gets awesome :)
I agree i wanted this game for 2 years
Yeah, I remember watching the trailer for it in Cinemas when watching the Casino Royale movie in a Cinemas, at first sight I loved this game, I wanted it and TBH the advert was better than the movie.
wow 8th grade? I got out of high school when this was released, makes me feel old hearing this -_____- lol
Audrey Szemplinski I was in the 7th grade back then. Listening to this song brings so many memories back. I really love it.
2023 checking in! It’s crazy how I was at work and the sun shined on me as I walked through the outside buildings and this song just started playing in my head… I instantly became nostalgic and remembered a life that was about school, friends, hanging out and just being chill and playing great games! Times have changed for better and for worse but we gotta keep our heads up and push forward… Much Love & Peace, Doc
Sometimes it’s popping up in my brain on a random occasion. So much nostalgia
One of the songs that when you listening it you travel to your childhood and fill same emotions.
My vision.
The song never lost that haunting effect.. and it's now 2023.
Just finished Mirror's Edge, I got goosebumps. Just, wow.
Mirrors edge is my favorite game of all time and its that game that, when looking back on it, always fills me with warm nostalgia for childhood. This song really takes me back to 2008.
2021 still the best
Here after it got removed of Spotify. Such a shame, really. I listened to it almost daily
What happend?
@@bryan2439 I don't know, it just got removed without explanation from Solar Fields or Lisa Miskovsky. I tried to ask her on Twitter but as expected, no answers (yet)
Ik have seen it happen with other artist but it the album got reuploaded pretty fast. Hope that it is like that
@@bryan2439 happened with some Kpop groups I followed and they got their songs back, so I hope that's just a temporary feud with labels and such
First time after many years of gaming i actually felt like i was emersed in a cgi created world and it felt emotional even though to me that was such a crazy notion
Mirrors Edge was more than 'just a game' and this song helped the emotional connection.
still listening to this master piece . god we need a new mirror's edge
@k2delta39 you skipped catalyst, didn't you?
@@sens1tiv838 I didn't skip Catalyst, but I still need another Mirror's Edge :D
Such an underappreciated song. I wish they would play this on the radio nowadays.
I'm coming back to this. Years after playing the games. The nostalgia from playing this when I was a child. It's giving me so many old memories back.
Sadly, EA's concrete heart still isn't beating. Just look at what they've done this decade. It's amazing that the studios and their respective IP's they acquired are Still Alive.
Creepopolous might want to look again
9 9 9 Something happen to EA?
ZombifiedBuizel no except people saying their greedy for money which is bs
@@_perza I mean, all of their games pretty much require you to spend an extra 50 quid over the starting price of 60 quid to even have a chance of being able to fairly play online.
She's got the face of an angel and voice of a goddess. So beautiful!
my childhood 😫😫😫😫
2069 I still keep coming here to listen to this song over and over again
2022 and this song still hits the same as the first time I played it
This game will always hold a special place in my heart. From the fun parkour and fast paced combat. Beautiful music and red objects highlighted for you to climb on in a mostly plain white futuristic world. The aesthetic from that time will always be remarkable.
🥲
I was 3 years old when this game was out. Companies weren't scared to do new things. This game gives me the ''Old, golden era, nostalgic'' feelings. Lisa Miskovsky did a great job
Im not crying, theres just something stuck in my eye.
i know
Getting in from school, heading to my friends and playing through the game without weapons. Im now 27 and not playing games... I miss games xD
I've never played Mirror's Edge but when I seen the commercial for it and I heard the song, I purchased it just because of it. They did a phenomenal job with this. The tone of this song is perfect. They nailed it.
When EA actually cared about players instead of investors.
We can't do bout that, if investors leaves EA, then no more EA.
Mirror's Edge was easily me all time favourite game, it's a shame that EA have gone downhill since it's release.
It was a great game i'd play it any day :)
If EA doesn't match or re-use this song in catalyst I'll be disappointed
Disappointed?
*VERY DISAPPOINTED*
This song belongs to the first game. Every game should have it's own theme song that people can identify it with.
Listening to this beautiful song again at 17:06 IST, 16th September, 2021.
Back 2008 this and cod 4 plus I Am Legend Blu Ray and a blu ray remote were the things included with my PS3. Nostalgia at its finest.
